Slightly better then Steelhawk Crossbow.
Exaclty same dps and speed, but Xbow has 28AP and 15 hit rating.
This has stam and crit rating.
Though the mats are pretty insane imo, 20 primal fire is like 1000gold or something.... not to mention the price of primal air :S
All in all imo not worth the money (like 3k total...)
Huntsman is easy and getting to prince isnt that hard as well, so, nice try blizzard, but still no usefull engineering weapon schematic...
Do you get the plan from the trainer or it is a drop?
Total costs in ore
16 eternium ore
24 Fel Iron ore
20 Khorium ore
60 Adamantite ore
And of course your 20 Primal Fire and 20 Primal Air
Honestly, with a week / week and a half of diligent farming, this is easily attainable (yes, even farming the motes).
If u take the new admantite shells in count, this would do the same or better than Sunfury Bow. Just a little too ugly.
New Stats as of 01 May on PTR:
(72.0 damage per second)
+3 Stamina Socket Bonus
could anyone be so kind and post a Screenshot of the Weapons Stats from the PTR? That would be very helpful, as i need a bit more proof before i start gathering all the Mats ;)
Thx in advance
Did they remove the crit rating and attack power bonus from it? or did they simply add more stamina and a yellow socket?
Is there a Thrallmar rep requirement to learn this from the GM engineer? This is going to be so easy to make, all I need to farm is the primals, should take a few days at most. I much prefer bow/xbow but with the increased bullet DPS this is better than Attunmen's Xbow in overall damage.
The gun is by far the best tanking gun in the game...
Putting a +8 hit gem in this gives you 30 stam and .5% hit... Pretty sweet for tanks and PvPers.
What is whit all the people wanting to put def/stam combo gems in items? Slap a 12 stam gem in it and watch your stam skyrocket! Remember the magic number of 490, beyond that is overkill. Yes you do gain some additional dodge/parry/block with each def point, but you will get hit your healers will need you to be able to take that hit and possibly one like it, in emergencies. So, 12 stam gem with the current 27 stam makes this gun a total of 39 (390 health). That is amazing. I have already started saving mats for this one!
from supremus, in BT.
This is indeed quite a weapon. Warriors should definitely take notice of this gun.
With the 27 stamina + a Enduring Talasite (
) + 3 stamina socket bonus = 36 stamina and +4 defense
You can get more defense on a ranged weapon, but it will either have to be a green or blue "of the Champion." Plus, the "of the Champion" ranged weapons do not offer as much stamina.
You could easily ignore the socket bonus if you are not hurting for defense and go for the ever popular Solid Star of Elune (
) to offer you 39 stamina total.
I was fortunate in buying a Primal Nether after losing the roll off to another a friend's friend.
I already had the Khorium on standby, and had most of the Primal Fires. All I needed was to get the Primal Airs. Surprisingly, the drop rate is a lot better as it only took me a few hours to get 10 Primal Air with the other 2 given from another friend.
Bought a couple of eternium I didn't have and I was done!
Quite easy in getting the mats, other than the Khorium.
Once you have the Khorium and Nether, the rest are cake.
So, it only took me 5 days from Tues' patch to make Furious Gizmatic, Tankatronic and now, Khorium Destroyer. I finally made something useful out of engineering.
Tips for farming this bad boy:
1. If you aren't keyed for a Heroic Instance... go do it... now!
2. While on the hunt for mats... stay qued for the easiest Heroic place you can do until you get the nether.
3. Farm the Primal Fire/Air in Nagrand during off hours (before 8 am after 10 pm) if possible.
4. Farm ALL the ores you need in Nagrand... I got all but the Khorium in a little under 2 hours.
5. Just keep at it and you'll have everything you need in a few days!
Here's a complete list of mats to get this awesome gun:
. 30 Adamantite Bars -> 3 Hardened Adamantite Bar -> 1 Hardened Adamantite Tube
. 20 Khorium Bars
. 24 Fel Iron Bars + 16 Eternium Bars -> 8 Felsteel Bars -> 4 Felsteel Stabilizers
and of course 12 Primal Fire, 12 Primal Air, 1 Primal Nether
My BM Hunter lost 30 damage per autoshot when using :
Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer w/ +10 Crit PvP Gem w/ +12 Scope
Telescopic Sharprifle w/ +10 Scope
This is NOT a Hunter DPS Gun
This is nerdy, but the rifle looks very similar to a Warhammer 40k Necron rifle (green glow included). :)
If you are a hunter who are into PVP you should consider the following:
Gladiator's Heavy Crossbow (GHC) (
) is better than this Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer, that is kinda obvious. However, it is not that much better. GHC costs 3750 arena points (and here comes the thing) 3750 + 750 = 4500. 4500 is the price of Gladiator gloves, shoulders and legs or helm.
Refering to McChuckles cost breakdown (which I can confirm is valid):
"1 Hardened Adamantite Tube = 3 H.Adamantite Bars = 50g
4 Felsteel Stabilizers = 8 Felsteel Bars = 80g
20 Khorium Bars = 200g
12 Primal Fire = 300g
12 Primal Air = 300g
1 Primal Nether = I paid 100g to a guildie to use his. Your price may vary." - I may add here that I also paid 100g for my Primal Nether.
You end up getting this great gun for just 1030g.
Conclusion, unless you are such a player who really plays (just about) 24-7 and will end up getting just about everything there is in this game; you might consider this because you (theoretically) end up buying approximately three out of five Gladiator armour parts for just 1030g, which is a hell of a good deal.
I just farmed all the mats for my third one... everything aside from the nether took me ~6 hrs of straight up killing elementals or scouting for ore... some helpful tips I've discovered along the way:
*The best times for farming Primals on my server are before 10am and after 8pm (server time) on weekends... weekdays: 10am-6pm and then after 8pm...
*Adamantite Ore is easiest to find in Nagrand... look at the map here:
(Click the Nagrand tab) and toy w/ different routes til you get a nice routine going...
*Fel Iron is easiest to farm in Hellfire Peninsula.... I pretty much just fly around randomly as they are EVERYWHERE... but heres another map:
*Its a lot more efficient just to buy the extra Khorium and Rternium Ore you need after you've farmed everything else
*Break up farming the Primals and ore because it can get very very very very boring... music also helps w/ this... so does lively guild chat
*For the Nether: just do heroic Mech badge runs... the nethers are for sale by the heroic badge turn in dude (
) for 10 badges a piece
*And finally tips on pricing (differs slightly from server to server I'm sure):
**These WILL sell for 1.5k-2k... don't sell yourself short
**Wait it out... it will take awhile to sell such expensive items
**Don't AH them... in my experience they don't sell... I put the first one I made in twice and advertised it was in there every time i went into town... no luck
**Don't be nasty if people say you're selling it for way too much... that is how selling epics goes...
List of the mats in complete breakdown (as you've seen 100 times):
1 Hardened Adamantite Tube//3 Hardened Adamantite Bars//30 Adamantite Bars//60 Adamantite Ore
4 Felsteel Stabilizers//8 Felsteel Bars//24 Fel Iron Bars+16 Eternium Bars//48 Fel Iron Bars+32 Eternium Ore
20 Khorium Bars//40 Khorium Ore
12 Primal Fires//120 Motes of Fire
12 Primal Airs//120 Motes of Air
1 Primal Nether
Happy Farming <(^.^<) ^(^.^)^ (>^.^)>
I have seen a gun like this for sale, bid 1100 gold - buyout 1300 gold. Very nice...but no money :(
is it worth to a hunter getting this weapon? cos its hard to get better, it doesn't have AP or agility but has stamina and thats good...
This would mainly be a tanking ranged weapon imo.
Other than this weapon you could always find a green gun with stam+str+def or just plain stam :)
I am gonna choose
for my gun :p
MM-spec hunter currently using this gun with a +10 damage scope and a +10 crit rating yellow gem (PvP vendor). Was previously using the Valanos' Longbow, and being a dwarf, this gun was well worth the 1000 gold spent cunningly buying the reagents for it from the AH, including a 200 gold fee for the Primal Nether.
Here's a tip: Don't just automatically buy the items needed, look up to see what they are crafted from, and buy them. You can save about 100 gold in the process by buying the relevant ores, then smelting them into what you need, then crafting the engineering/blacksmithing components, rather than buying the end result off the AH.
Currently in a Karazhan raiding guild, but waiting for Sunfury/Wolfslayer/Steelhawk to drop in my favour. Until then, I'm loving the semi- UT Bio Rifle appearance.
To break it down completely, the actual farmable materials are as follows:
Fel Iron Ore
Mote of Fire
Mote of Air
Got my today, paid total of 1007 gold for all mats counting in the 50g for nether from a guild mate.
Well what can i say,as good as for tanks,it's good for BM hunters, with proper talant points u can get 2.03 attack speed, and around 200+/- HP to my pet not even talking about my own, whitch for me as a pve whore is more then perfect.
I ither prefer slow ap/crit/hit/agil guns or like this one, slow with quita decent surv stats boost, tho for MM this one is a good choice aswell, your aimed shots wold go thro the roof :)
I got mine yesterday (Prot Warrior on Illidan), and i feel the need to tell evry1 whos looking to get this, depending on the mats price on ur realm its worth buyin the mats (supposin ur not gonna farm) instead of buyin the gun itself.
I spent around 700g on mats and 75g for the eng's nether so..
This gun is great for transitioning into raiding. It has a large amount of stamina, which is useful in End game raids
10 hit rating in this as a tanking weapon and it is the best in the game. Could use 15 stamina gems as well, but its hard to get hit as a tank so I'm getting a 10 hit gem.
Approximately Price is when mats are bought
60 x Adamantite Ore = 40 G
40 x Khorium Ore = 40 G
48 x Fel Iron Ore = 25 G
32 x Eternium Ore = 40 G
120 x Mote of Fire = 240 G
120 x Mote of Air = 240 G
1 x Primal Nether +- 100 G fee (depends on realm/crafter)
Total = 725 G
Up to you if you wanna farm the mats or rather prefer to buy them.
Best BoE Gun in Game in my opinion nuff said and its extreamly good for hunters who dont do pvp but they do raiding and just want to have a gun
As a Markswoman Hunter I obtained this gun from an Engineering guildie, then added the
Inscribed Ornate Topaz
(+10 AP and +5 Crit rating) gem from PvP, along with the
Stabilized Eternium Scope
(+28 crit strike rating) and I must admit, it is indeed a very very high quality ranged weapon. Even at 70, I find very few gun drops that I would trade this in for. I agree there are some nicer bows, but of the gun class, I am sticking with this, even through our guild Arena competitions for now. An excellent BFG!
Btw if you are good (exelent) :D Pve geared prot war and start farm to Arms build Arena points this gun easely can go to PvP gear with 12 rss rtg gem and 28crit rtg scope and spend 3130 arena points at the final.
I felt like the last tank on my server to get this gun! I was using
for the longest time and finally saw this gun on the AH for 800g. Most tanks throw in a
, which is always good for tanks. But there is so many other epic tanking gems out there that should not be overlooked. I threw in
from H. Mech until I can find something better. Don't always feel as if stacking stamina is the only way to gem!
When you get this as a protection warrior, and I say it "when," not "if," you'll be hard pressed to find a reason to equip a different ranged weapon until you reach Black Temple. Because of this, it might be worth considering this gun as a good place to socket a "Unique-Equipped" gem if you have one.
As a jewelcrafter, I found this to be the perfect place to slot my
Facet of Eternity
As a note to tanks just starting out that have been told to get this gun, the reason that many tanks use it is the large amount of stamina it has (especially when socketed with a +12 stam gem). Aside from that, it's just a gun. You could also get
from Sethekk Halls if you can live with 180 less HP and don't feel like spending hundreds of gold on mats.
I believe the model is a reference to the fps game "Halo".
Solid star of elune is a blue gem, this only has yellow gem socket
not worth it for a hunter imo, way to expensive.
considering the 3 different Ranged weapons that drop from kara, you will be replacing this quite soon.
I for one got
from the first boss on my first raid of kara.
Tip for the adamantite tube and stabilizers...
Go to netherstorm and find Qiff in area 52 and Dealer Najeeb in stormspire and camp them, after restarts they will most likely respawn
I personally found that the best way to get the 12 of each primals without losing your mind is to get a nice trance, techno, or long song, mine was 1 hour 15 mins, which turned out to be around 3 primals, simply go to the area you're farming and press play, kill stuff, then when the song stops you have 3 primals, then go to the other location for the other primal and play a different "long" song. Helps pass the time, and i found makes primal farming less... blah.
for Hardened Adamantite tube.. save you about 90gold...
is the answer since u should not be in need of more def and considering that hit rating is a important tank stat
I have my googles so this gun is really the only reason i would want to level my engineering to 375 but since it is boe may aswell have someone else make it. I will save the 1500g i would take to make 15 repair bots to reach the cap.
great looking gun, as well as amazing. just bought it, blows my shotgun of stamina out of hte water, although it cost 2000g, gold isn't hard to get in TBC anyway

Have one up in the AH in Aerie Peak, or /w me in game for a discount
GM Island (Dungeon) - 1 Hide/Show
- lol :b
Twoold on horde side on Dragonmaw realm can create it
I splashed out on this gun last night for my warrior... her first WoW Christmas lolz! 945g bid on AH... median AH price on here says 1300g so i guess 945 isn't too bad :P im happy with it anyways... 27 stamina is nice!
oh em gee leeeeeeeeeeeeeet tanx weps i want now!
Does it matter if u r a gnome or goblin engineer or do both get to craft it
too bad my guild engineer wants 100g fro the nether even if i do run him through mech for the nether. So much for helping out a guildie. In the future when he wants help running an instance for nethers I am gonna ask him for 50g.
wow kick ass gun bought the mats and payed 125g that was with tip over all l spend 1200g better then AHs 2000g bid 2200buyout
Die ewige Wacht (EU)
Menealph - Horde -- Mats + 200G
I can make on Agamaggan US Alliance Side PST Welschie for info on nether costs and costs without mats
thay added a nether to the mats.......8(
Um.. no... 100g is NOT a guildie price on most servers, especially if you run the instance with whomever is making you the item. Nethers go for 75-125g in trade on my server.
Of course, maybe your guild just sucks :) Ppl in my guild offer nethers for free when they can spare them, and are happy to run an instance for one to make your item. I've paid 50g for a nether to a guildie before, but that was MY decision, because I did not run an instance with them, and wanted to compensate them somehow.
I now have two nethers stored up, and hope to be able to equip some tank with resist gear for ssc using them. I have no intention of charging anyone, in fact, I was contemplating making it with my mats as a present. The whole raid benefits from well-geared members, and a good guild helps one another out, rather than attempting to make money off of one another.
went to the AH and looked up what it would cost to get all the mats together to make this beast. all together(not including the nether) it came to about 800.4g. quite abit more then that 250g at the top of the page.
btw, server Proudmoore

I have yet to see one for less than 1000g on AH. Farmed about 80% of the mats for mine, and bought the rest- cost me about 400g (and a kind guildie provided the nether for me). Its really not hard to gather the mats if you are a miner!
For a warrior tank what would be the best yellow gem to slot in this weapon? Thanks
vannadecay horde side on alexstrasza
do u learn this from a reciopy?
Does this have any special animation or glow effects like don santos' famous hunting rifle? (green muzzle flash and green glowing orb around the back of the chamber)
EDIT: Just had one made for my hunter and yes, there's a green muzzle flash and a small, green circle effect around the body of the gun when it fires.

i can craft this item, ravencrest - Lucian
is this one of the best?
good for my hunter?
is there any better? =p

Just got it for 680g on Shattered Halls. I know our economy can blow, but its not THAT bad.
^^Image of Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer^^
Here's a breakdown of the mats for this weapon:
1 Hardened Adamantite Tube
or 3 Hardened Adamantite Bars
or 30 Adamantite Bars
or 60 Adamantite Ore
20 Khoriums Bars
or 40 Khorium Ore
4 Felsteel Stabilizers
or 8 Felsteel Bars
or 24 Fel Iron Bars &
16 Eternium Bars
or 48 Fel Iron Ore &
32 Eternium Ore
12 Primal Fire
or 120 Motes of Fire
12 Primal Air
or 120 Motes of Air
1 Primal Nether
or 10 Badge of Justice
-Kekeke of Balnazzar
Both gnomish and goblin can learn this.
imo, this is one of the best guns for tanks
>> This is the best tanking weapon until BT/Mount hyjal, actually there is no drop until BT/mount hyjal for tanking.
Best blues is like 15 stamina + 30 AP/15 crit rating, so i would recommend this one, as there prolly will be long time till u get to BT/mount hyjal.
If u don't have the 490 defence rating that is "required" for raids, u should put a Green gem with def and stamina in the sockets, if u have enough defence, put a 12 stamina in.
28 stamina + 6 stamina and 4 def. + 3 stamina bonus = 37 stamina & 4 def.
28 stamina + 12 stamina gem = 40 stamina
Kniferz - Turalyon - Alliance
I can't seem to sell them higher than 1k... anyone else have problems selling this?
In Zangarmarsh in your faction city there must be a engi trainer wich will teach u this schematic as soon u reach 375 engi skill. As for the goblin-gnomish differences... its like that:
both sides have some uniqe recipes like the gnomes have gnomish death ray but most of the other things u learn do the same thing but have different names. The main differences are the teleport trinkets like gnome engi can teleport to gadgetzan, goblin engi can teleport in winterfall village (i think) same thing in outland i think .. with area 52 and other location i dont know yet (cause didnt payed that much attention to)
I'm a BM Hunter. I managed to get this gun for 800g, and to me it was well worth it.
I have already noticed a diffence in PvPing. I'm lasting that bit longer, and hittign that bit harder.
I'm loading a lot of other slots with Agility, which a BM hunter needs in spades. However in PvP being very agile does not help me if I'm very dead. I need to last too, especially when I'm unlucky and get hit with a couple of crits.
It is the 'best' gun? Of course not. But until one can farm PvP in Arena or Battlegrounds, or is running high end raids consisistently, this is one of the best, as it only costs gold, and by 70 we should be farming our own gold all the time.
Yes, I'll probably change it later, but for now it is making a lot of difference to me - and not because it makes a lot of noice.
I'm printing this and checking the boxes as I go. Kinda nice.
GYRO-BALANCED KHORIUM DESTROYER
Hardened Adamantite Tube (1)
______Hardened Adamantite Bar (3)
____________Adamantite Bar (30)
Khorium Bar (20)
Felsteel Stabilizer (4)
______Felsteel Bar (8)
____________Fel Iron Bar (24)
____________Eternium Bar (16)
Primal Fire (12)
Primal Air (12)
Primal Nether (1)
If your server is like mine STOP farming mats and selling them, nobody buys them. I could only sell them if i say "Now making Gyrobalanced khorium balanced Destroyer your mats my neither 95g", I get like at least 2-3 whispers. It gets me angry too, I made 2 of them now I cant sell them, I wouldve made more money selling the primal fire and air alone then selling this.
This IS a hunter PVP gun.
Stamina matters in PvP and thats what it gives you. Looks cool 2.
Also good tank gun, your not wrong there
Primal Nether is no longer BoP
No, this one is crafted by an Engineer only. No vendors sells this one :)
Ive been using velanos bow since i turned 70 and love that bow, just bought the gyro and to be completely honest and i know some of you will not agree, i hit for more damage with the velanos bow, i usually get two or three 1200 plus hits in each fight with the velanos bow where with the gun i only hit over 1200 like once a fight. I guess ill just keep using both until i can get something better. oh and i am a hunter
Just wanted to throw this out here incase anyone else is having a similar problem. The TBC engineering trainers are not showing Gyro-balanced Khorium Destroyer as a "unknown" option for me yet (366 engineering).
I recall having a similar problem back 15 years ago but I dont recall what the fix was. If anyone knows be sure to list it, if not I'll post back once I figure it out!
This one will be available in a later phase of TBC
Phase 1 really? Then where the f is this trained at? Just hit 375 engi, trainer does not offer this recipe.
Where do I get the recipe?
