Awesome! this filled the gap from between Malchezaar and Leotheras!
Actually you guys saying about that gap between prince and leotheras, are forgetting the dagger from Doomwalker, Talon of the Tempest, that, with right sockets, can be superior than the dagger from prince.
Of course, DPS casters vary by use, but...not every class can use swords (priests/shamans/druids).
Paladins are the *ONLY* class that can not use daggers. So I think I disagree with the comments on how this fills a big gap, because of a different dagger drop within ZA.
Wub's Cursed Hexblade is from the 3rd boss in ZA.
Equip: Improves spell hit rating by 13.
Equip: Improves spell critical strike rating by 20.
Equip: Increases damage and healing done by magical spells and effects by up to 217.
Equip: Restores 6 mana per 5 sec.
I think the Hexblade is definitely a lot better in comparison! No stamina, but a bit of intellect, some more spell damage. The +hit is a great touch! If people are hitcapped and still using a Mindblade, it means that they can regem some of their gear. You could resocket gear for more crit/damage (assuming you're using veiled noble topazes).
Everyone wants haste and stamina, which this lacks, but posts were comparing Mindblade to the Fang of the Leviathan, and this Wub's Cursed Hexblade is definitely a better fit int he middle >.>
Web's Cursed Hexblade
is comparable to this (possibly even better) if you're not hit caped or if you're using gems to hit cap (which you can then resocket for more dmg).
They're very similar though, and this is clearly better for classes that don't use crit (ie: Spriests, Affli Locks).
Ok... now THAT'S creepy looking.
Keep in mind that for arcane mages, staying below the hit cap can be very difficult, even when socketing all gear for pure spell damage. I use this over the hex blade because even with no hit gems, I'm above the hit cap.
Also it looks cooler.
But yeah, a slight buff would be nice. Maybe a bit more spell damage.
This weapon is actually quite a bit better than Fang of the Leviathan for Mages and Destruction Warlocks. For Affliction it is lackluster due to Spell Haste having no effect on DoTs.
But for Mages and Destruction Warlocks this is the best one hander until Maelstrom's Fury off Naj'entus and Tempest of Chaos off Archimonde.
This is because Spell Haste Rating is much stronger point for point than Spell Critical Strike Rating. So even though this has slightly less Spell Damage than Fang of the Leviathan, it is still better.
Maelstrom's Fury is an upgrade but not a massive one, so if you have this Sword you may be better off holding out for Tempest of Chaos depending on your loot system.
If you are not already capped to the 16% chance to hit, you would definitely go for the Jan'alai's Wub's Cursed Hexblade (
) which would give you a better damage increase thanks to its +hit.
The spinny skulls from the Unholy Weapon enchantment do not show up on this weapon, sadly.
In patch 2.4 this sword has the following stats
Spell haste rating +21
Spell damage +229
so stat change is
Spell haste -8
Spell damage +12
With this change it made this weapon a lot more attractive then it was before even with it is losing that haste.
The 2.4 stamina buff also makes this item desirable for prot pallies, possibly more desirable than the Amani Punisher from Eagle.
- More STA (3) than Punisher.
- More spelldmg (12) than Punisher.
- Slightly slower weapon makes it a small plus for SoV users.
The only wasted stat on the weapon would be the spell haste :)
Nice weapon but it sorta pales compared to the dagger off Jan'alai
atleast for my mage.
Great caster weapon, spell haste ftw. Also good in pvp if you have a good amount of stam and resil from your other slots.
Looks great and it isn't that bad. BTW has anyone else noticed that almost all new items in 2.3.0 give spell haste ?
Yah, almost ever ZA drop improves eighter spell haste or just regular haste, weapons that is.
No brainer for a haste set... and it really looks sick to boost. While most of the weapons from SSC/TK and above are arguably slightly better (noticeable just by looking at their item levels), this thing is pretty good for a 10 man drop. However, whether you want this or the dagger off of Malacrass is up to you, both are pretty good. While I don't need this, its looks alone makes me want to have one ;p.
lol no idea my proct pally doesnt cast unless im doing crusader shield.
yeah really no reason to get spell haste at all for a pally other than healing, and even then reducing the cast time of a 2.0 Holy light would be negligible. But for a 217+spell dmg sword, this thing friggin rocks. Cant wait for my guild to run ZA and all the other caster pick up this baby so I could have a chance at it, 6 months from now...sigh
The haste rating on this is SOOOO nice for my rogue.I ran this placce and hit need when it dropped cus it's sSOOOO nice for a rogue
Lol i triple posted:)
It´s the one beneath this one you should look at.
I hope you weren´t serious......... was you?
