This mount used to drop from the fourth bonus loot chest in Zul'Aman at a 100% rate. After patch 3.0 the developers thought that it would be easy to get when people are level 80, and thus it would no longer be viewed as a status symbol, so they removed it from the loot tables.
The first mount dropped for Inferni from the guild For the Horde on the PTR.

Just to give an indication of difficulty on the timed event: We finished it with 1 minute left on our clock (Eagle, Bear, Dragonhawk, Lynx), and we were 10 T6 geared folks. We used flasks, food, etc and it required a lot of chain pulling. More people will probably get this over time, as it requires basically no mistakes, but these kind of things get better the more you do the instance with the same people. We had actually lost to the timed event 3 times before we got it last night, but because we had the same people every night, everyone knew what to do to shave off every last second.
Yes, the bear mount is 100% from the fourth chest.

So only if you complete the timed event? Looks super tough. Wowwiki says it has a rare drop rate, I'm assuming that's broken data. Everyone will have one of these once WotLK comes out.

This is incorrect, the eagle always adds 10 minutes and the bear always adds 15 minutes the other 2 bosses add no time. this gives 45 minutes total to kill all 4 bosses if you want your bear.

This mount is
very
hard to get. It will require the entire raid to be atleast T6 geared and making alot of chain pulling. One mistake and you can wave goodbye to this mount.
Good luck while tryinbg to get this mount.

I have one question, let's say my group and I get thru it perfectly timed and get to the last part to get the mount. Does the mount get rolled for or does everyone in the group get one?

It's a pretty large mount, and a crowd pleaser in IF/org.
Only thing I dislike is the basket on its head, but it seems to relate to the bear being blind.
You can peek under its helm to see the white eyes.
We do runs every reset, and so far we have 10 mounts. Twice done with 6 minutes to spare.
Edit:
(I have made a mistake in regards to gear, the rogue and warrior have T6 as well. Keep in mind though, that we had worse gear 9 resets ago)
Setup and gear:
Prot Warrior (T5 and halfway through our runs, he's gotten T6 since)
Feral Druid (T5 equivalent gear)
Fury/Arms Warrior (T6)
Combat Rogue (T6 + 1 warglaive)
Enhancement Shaman (Decked out in T6, cursed vision of sargeras, the works)
Destro Warlock (T6)
Fire Mage (T6)
Resto Shaman (T6)
Holy Priest (T6)
Holy Paladin (T5)
Edit:
I can confirm that a full out T6 is indeed not needed. my guild did a time run, with 1 minute too slow, at the time all in T5 and lower gear.
Last night, my team got the second to last mount, and we had 8 minutes to spare, personal record.
General advice:
Use consumables. (don't use shattrath flasks, they don't work there)
1 prot and 1 feral is worth gold. Take down the feral's targets first and let him cat up on the prot's target afterwards.
Keep pulling, all the time. You have the druids innervate in a pinch.
Loot bosses, chances are you have better loot, I wouldn't bother disenchanting since voids are pretty much worthless, and yes, even with the upcomming splitting ability.
Agreeing on looting rules beforehand would help.
DON'T LOOT CHESTS, and don't even let them out before the time run is OVER.
The worst area is up to 3rd boss, don't pull the group on the left, but let the tank go up to the right wall, and he'll pull the group behind that. Sneak around that wall to skip the first 4-man group
Don't bother taking the route through the dragonhawk areas.
Use feral charge/bash to take down scouts. Roots break more often than the charge gets resisted.
Keep the group tight, and look out for scouts, have the rogue ready to go gouge, or have the tanks charge.
Always kill flamecasters first, and don't ever fear them. Don't bother mindcontrolling them.
When you're past 3rd boss and have about 12 minutes left, you're home free. Skip first patrol with lynx' sneak along the wall they blocked off last patch, and it's even better.
When you kill 4th boss you have to wait 2 minutes for the annoying gnome to finish blasting all the urns.. the mount is in the last one, which is in the north-eastern corner of the room.
Voila, your very own amani warbear, which everyone should press "Need" on. (Those who have, automatically skip the roll)

Further general tips:
Use bloodlusts, fire elementals and drums. (in our setup, the feral druid, enha-shammie and rogue all 3 have battle drums, keeping haste up constantly on all bossfights).
I'd recommend switching shamans midfight for giving melee bloodlust again, and then switching them back.
Have the feral druid DPS on bearboss, when he's not tanking it. (watch your aggro!)
Use Ventrilo!
On Lynx boss, don't bother killling the spawn, just keep dps on boss. (So that the feral can tank the pet with minimal effort, and still deliver dps on the boss)
Kill totems, but ignore them on last phase.
Gathering a group for Zul'Aman:
You pretty much need a dreamteam for time runs.
They don't have to be perfectly geared, T5 equivalent is fine, but you wont set any timebreaking records.
Use the setup above, in a pinch you can substitute the warlock for a shadowpriest, but you'll lack the AOE power you need for killing the adds on 3rd boss. However, you wont have any mana problems.
(As the feral druid, my innervate is always on a constant cooldown, usually spent on the mage)
You can substitute rogue for a hunter.
You can combine the above substitutions, since the hunter will be good for killing adds.
As for the group itself.. ours is made of members from top guilds.
We didn't really know eachother, other than by reputation, and some are friends.
It's nice not to be forced to drag along guildmembers who you can't refuse but don't really want to bring along, because this is a tough run.
Agree on loot distribution from the start.
Everyone gets a mount, random rolled. Everyone stays for full ten runs. No skipping out when you have your mount, that's dishonest, and very poor behaviour.
IF, there's a member that can't come, and you need to replace him, be sure to work out the rules with the replacement.
Personally, I disallow the replacement to get the mount, but he is of course welcome to the gear that drops, just like everyone else. And it's a guaranteed 3-chest run at least.
If he performs well, do an 11th run for him to get the mount as well.
Permanent replacements should be last in line for the mount.
"But everyone on the run is entitled to the mount!"
I'd say just gathering the group is half the work. If a replacement wanders in on the 6th run, and grabs a mount, then what about the others, who have worked for 5 runs before him?
Doesn't seem fair to me.
When everyone has their mount, you can keep running for easy loot of course. Sell spots for gold.
Depending on server economy, you can easily get 2-3k gold for selling a spot for a guaranteed mount. (don't forget that the money will be divided.)
The last two bosses are 6 badges, and good loot, so you can sell those spots as well, when you're done with the time run.
Be sure to use Ventrilo, and invite new people to join it as well. Teamwork is key.

Thank you for your praise.
While I checked out the gear, I realized that two of the members are actually pretty decked out, so from the start it was only 4 T5's, and pretty much the rest in T6.
Mage was replaced from T5 to T6, shaman was replaced from T6 to T6.
With so much time to spare, as we have now (8 minutes!), I'm confident that it can be done with a few practise runs with a T5 geared team, especially since a group from my guild did it 1 minute too slow, on their first real attempt.
Look up the following people on eu.wowarmory.com , all on Burning Legion (PvP - EU):
Kiler (Prot Warrior)
Svavha (Feral Druid) me :D
Krematoria (Combat Rogue)
Zorkok (Fury/Arms Warrior)
Grint (Enhancement Shaman)
Siphera (Destruction(I think?) Warlock)
Nightgloom (Fire Mage)
Kadaji (Holy Paladin aka the last to get the mount. /soothe)
Nogi (Holy Priest)
Matija (Resto Shaman)
Kiler gathered the original group and set the rules.
Finding the keymembers, and getting them to come each time was a lot of work, and very well done.
In the end, you need practice, and of course you need to know all the tactics...
Some extra tips:
On 3rd boss, make sure to clean a WHOLE side at a time.
Have the feral druid, and arms warrior grab as many as they can, while the others are nuking down the adds.
3rd boss will also be easier next patch, now that he doesn't teleport those close to him.
For the ferals:
I use an.... interesting gear mix.
T4 for tanking, and T5 for DPS.. now, the reason I do this is to achieve higher survivability in catform, and retain max armor in T4. The upgrade is so slight, that in my opinion it's not worth re-enchanting and re-gemming both sets, now that T6 is right around the corner for me.
I have some very good pieces, both DPS and tanking-wise.
So the only thing I mix, are 4 pieces of dps-"specced" T5, into the rest of my tanking gear.
This gives me a sufficient damage boost for trash, and honestly bosses as well.
I used to use full out tanking gear on bear and lynx bosses, but it's not really needed, with good healers at least.
Be sure to bind your full out dps, full out tanking, and mix gear to keys, with an addon like "Item Rack", so you can adapt quickly to situations.
The trash hits fairly hard a lot of places, so I'd recommend not switching too many things out for a mix.
As for consumables, I'd recommend +30 stamina food, Major elixir of fortitude and agility.
They support both tanking and DPS, while giving good survivability as cat.
You can substitute the stamina food for agility food.
If you have a paladin, make sure to poke and bother him for blessings all the time!
You definately want salvation when not tanking, primarily on bosses, and kings the rest of the time.
Screenshot of our team has been added. Gz to everyone, was nice running with ya :D
Edit; my shot hasn't been added. I don't know why =(

After I read these raid setup suggestions, I felt a little disappointed. We menaged to bring down 4 bosses in time with this setup:
1 Prot Warrior
2 Paladins, Prot and Holy
1 Fire/Arcane Mage
1 Resto Druid
1 Holy Priest
2 Warlocks, Affliction and Fire Dest
1 BM Hunter
1 Combat Rogue
Everyone in the group with *absoulutely no Gruul/T5 gear*, the prot paladin (me) and one of the warlocks without a single drop from even Karazhan. Some of our members had drops from 3 bosses in Zul'Aman and when we did this thing in time for the first time, we were trying the trash to Dragonhawk boss for the first time too.
Read comments, learn from others' experiences but never underestimate yourself. Teamwork and skills have priority over gear for Zul'aman's timed event.

Devin, and I tell you it's just not possible. You don't have enough dps and healing to do the constant pulling - only way of doing it. Vent as much as you want, but trash does not go faster.

On our first ever speed run, we just scrapped it with 1 minute on clock, counting down the last 20 seconds when boss was about 5% ^^ We've got better now, following the tips all listed above and typically finish with 3-6 minutes left on clock, not had a 7 minute remaining run, but I imagine it's possible. We are all Tier 6, and have a Paladin tanking all, with help of an offtank Druid who also does DPS when needed, we only bring 2 healers and rest dps.

Zul'Aman is very gear dependant.
It shows on several points, the path up to eagle boss, where you need to be able to deliver excellent DPS to targets *and* AoE several times until reaching the end mob before the boss.
The worse gear you have here, the more difficult it is.
The Bear Boss, requires some fairly heavy tanking gear.
As a druid, you'd like at least 4 pieces of T4, crit immune and karazhan'esque gear in the rest of your slots.
Healers must be able to keep up here, and produce raw healing power.
Hawk Boss is a 50/50 deal...
You need to get the small hawks down fast, in order to do that you want to AoE half a side, if not a whole, at a time. That's gear dependant.
You can do it slowly, but then you'll meet the enrage timer, and then your tank needs to be well geared.
Lynx boss... 6-7k lashes.. need I say more?
Time run? Impossible. I'll believe it when I see the video.
Hex Lord Malacras... either you umst have enough shadow res gear to cope with him, or have healers that can cope during shadowbolt spam. It's *possible* to beat, if all targets are crowd controlled, and everyone avoids every single AoE he spams, and if they interrupt every heal.
Unless everyone is 100% on the fight, this is also gear dependant.
Zul'Jin...
Healers must keep up during lynx phase, and that's really it.

It's very possible in t4/badge/crafted gear. My guild is full t6 but we decided to try this with our alts. Mine is a prot paladin with 15k unbuffed health and uncrushable, for instance. I have no t4, just other random kara epics and badge gear. The healers had about 1700 + heals, casters at about 1000 +dmg etc. So long as your mana regen and pulls go quick and fluently, you'll do fine. We completed with 3 minutes to spare. Don't underestimate badge gear when combined with flasks and consumables!
On our mains, we usually complete with 6-8 minutes left. We also bring 3 healers. Two would result in a faster clear but we like to combine pulls and seed/soe with a paladin tank, our healers also throw in some DPS on bosses. They aren't chain nuking, just throwing in dots and casts during things like eagle storm, bear charge, the last 30% of dragon, and when lynx splits. Be smart, not zealous.

In my ZA group we have gotten a total of 4 bears now out of 5 serious attempts. Our "core" group consists of:
1x Prot Warrior
1x Prot Paladin
2x Holy Paladin
1x Destro Warlock
1x Elem Shaman
1x Shadow Priest
The rest of the slots are filled with DPS only (everyone in the raid has T5ish gear). Our best run so far has been with this core group plus a Balance Druid, BM hunter, and an additional Destro lock. We completed it with nearly 8 minutes to spare.
If you can find two healers that are up to the task of healing this instance, I would highly recommend it. Dropping the third healer for an additional DPS slot really helps to speed things up.

Our guild just got our first one last night, and I was the lucky guy who got it. :) We use to just "see how fast we could go" but never put any serious attempts into it. Once we did, we wanted to keep the same 10-12 people based on availability. From there, we'll start to work others in as we can.
Once we got our group together, and we started trying, we went +6 minutes, +3 minutes, +45 seconds, +1 second (literally), -3 minutes. This is the benefit of a constant group.
Tips & Tricks:
We went Eagle ---> Bear ---> Dragonhawk ---> Lynx
Our setup was:
1 Prot Warrior
1 "Hybrid" Warrior
1 Elemental Shaman
1 Enhancement Shaman
1 Rogue
1 Mage
1 Warlock
1 Hunter
1 Holy/Disc Priest
1 Holy Paladin
2 healers is definetly the way to go as long as they can handle it. You can always sub a 3rd healer in for Hex Lord and Zul'Aman if someone doesnt want anything or need anything off of them.
Since we had no shadow priest, i'd highly recommend chugging mana pots. Yes, even for trash. Your trying to accomplish a speed goal here, and if you're to stingy to purchase some extra ones, then you need to reevaluate your strategy. Drinking does take time, try to do it as much as possible, but about 90% of the run, you won't have full mana. You just won't.
Use flasks, oils, food, and everything else at your disposal. We're all in T6 and your going to need it.
If anyone has Drums of Battle, use them constantly. Even on trash.
Avoid patrols where you can. We avoid 1 on the way to the lynx boss that patrol around the hut where the repair guy is. Another is on the way to Dragonhawk right when you step off the grass, and up the stairs where the last pull is held. Its faster even if you have to wait for them to go by.
Go with people you trust and put it on group loot. You can loot the boss, but its helpful if you just wait until your done with the timed event to get the badges. Also, don't release the guy, they will be there when you come back.
Mount up when you kill the bosses.
Chain pulls are the key to the whole thing. As long as your healers have mana, and your mage is ready to sheep (when applicable) your good to go. Your caster dps can wait 3-5 seconds to continue drinking.
Last, watch videos, and read up on people's experiences from their runs.

My group farms two of these per week, and have been for the last few months. We run nearly the same setup every time, and finish with anywhere between 6-9 minutes extra.
Group 1:
Prot Paladin
Holy Paladin
Shadow Priest
Resto Druid (DPSing during trash) -- Occasionally we swap the druid for a Holy Priest (smite bombs during trash)
Resto Shaman
Group 2:
Enhancement Shaman
BM Hunter
Fury Warrior
Destruction Warlock
Feral Druid
Sometimes we swap out a Warlock or the Fury Warrior for a second BM hunter.
This instance is completely doable with only two healers.
The main thing you have to do succeed in this is to skip all of the patrols. All of them. It takes less time to wait for the patrol to move (10-20 seconds) than it does to kill it (30-45 seconds).
Have your alts buff you outside with Spirit/AI/MoTW. Or whatever buffs you aren't currently bringing.
Good luck

My guild has managed to get Bear Mounts consistently with the following raid composition (the same 10 ran it every week until we all got one):
Tanks:
1 Warrior | 1 Feral Druid
Healers:
1 Resto Shaman | 1 Paladin | 1 CoH Priest
DPS:
1 Mage (fire) | 1 Rogue (combat) | 1 Warrior (fury) | 1 Shaman (elemental) | 1 Warlock (destro)
I recommened going Eagle ---> Bear ---> Dragonhawk ---> Lynx. Do not loot any chests and drink \ eat immedeatly after every boss kill.

I think this is one of the best things Blizzard has invented. We're occasionally throwing a timed run on offdays, and have so far been rocking with:
Prot paladin
Retribution paladin
Feral Druid
Survival Hunter
Resto druid
and 5 random people from who one is either resto shaman or coh priest, sometimes we can rock with enhancement shaman for extra pew pew. Honestly I can't imagine doing that place without tankadin, since I'm spoiled :) (running as the retpaladin though).
First time we tried it we had some t4 people (such as me) tagging along, so it was pretty challenging. Now, depending on setup, we are able to go as fast as with 8 minutes spare on Lynx. Today we actually wiped on Nalorakk's trash but still made it with 3 minutes to spare.
It's pretty easy event once everyone are familiar with it.
And obviously the bear is pure love <3 ^^

Tier 6 Quality loot, we take no short cuts and no wall exploits. Simple pour hard dps and no dumb mistakes. Generally finish with 10-15 minutes left on timer, if performed well could be executed by T5 quality people, just need to maximize dps and pop consumables

This mount is extremely hard to get, and is usually not attainable if your arent T6 geared. Usually our group finishes this event with at least 10 minutes left. To get the mount you must down four bosses preferably in the order: Eagle, Bear, Dragonhawk, Lynx.
Typically our group make-up includes:
1 Fire mage (5 pieces T6)
3 Rogues (good for stuns and such on the scouts on your way up to the dragonhawk boss. All 3 Rogues have 6 pc T6)
2 Shamans (One resto and one elemental. Take note that shamans are extremely important assets to have in this run seeing as if you did wipe, which it does happen, the run would still be doable b/c one of the shamans could use their self ress. Elemental shammy has 4 piece T6 and BT gear. The resto shammy has 5 pieces of T6 including some non-tier pieces off of sunwell bosses)
2 Paladins ( One prot and the other Holy. Prot pally has 6 piece T6. Holy pally has 5 piece T6 with some sunwell pieces)
1 Warrior (Prot. Has 4 piece T6)
1 Hunter (BM. Has 4 pc T6 in addition to that polearm that drops off the trash in sunwell)
Even with a great group make-up and great players, to get this mount requires a lot of concentration and there is very little room for error. This run is high intensity which means: no sitting down to drink (use mana/health pots when needed)
In my opinion the hardest part of this run is how you pull the gauntlet on the way to the eagle boss. There are a bunch of suggested ways to do this but the way that our group uses, which I believe is the best way, is to mount up and have your pally pull the entire gauntlet. It took us a while before we figured out that the reason our pally was taking so much dmg was because of the Windwalkers. So now we have the rogues gank the windwalkers and keep them off of the pally. If you pull this gauntlet right it should save you at least 5 minutes of time that would have been wasted.
Note: For the gauntlet make sure your fire mage has high mana efficiency because this requires a lot of mana intensive AoE attacks. I would say 11k+ mana pool. The alchemy trinket also helps a lot on this gauntlet.
Do NOT loot ANYTHING at ANY POINT during the run. Remeber, you are not here for gear/badges. You are here to get a bear mount.

Some tips for people looking to shave an extra few seconds off the clock, barring the obvious oils/food/elixirs. This is what our guild uses for Bear Cavalry runs. We don't have any T6.
* Run two healers.
* Pull half of the Eagle gauntlet, burn down the two Windwalkers, then have the hunter go up the rest of the gauntlet to misdirect the Tempest onto the tank. Have the tank pop an Ironshield Potion at the beginning to take decreased damage. AoE.
* Burn a Drum of Restoration during the gauntlet. Your drum will be up again during Eagle.
* Collapse onto the tank on Eagle instead of collapsing anywhere else. It allows your melee to continue DPSing during the storm.
* Have a feral druid cast Soothe Animal on the first duo bear pack and hug the wall on the left. It can be skipped entirely.
* Netherweave Net scouts. It never misses or resists.
* Charge into the four pack at the base of Dragonhawk's stairs if the coast is clear. You can skip the hatchling pat entirely by doing so. Don't forget to recall your totems.
* Hatch one platform, then kill BOTH hatchers until Dragonhawk is at 35%. The remaining platform will spawn all at once at that percentage. You
must
time this so it doesn't happen during a Fire Bomb.
* Advise your dragonhawk tank to carry Oils of Immolation and (if applicable) sapper charges and ice grenades. AoE.
* Have a rogue distract the pat that paths up towards Malacrass' stairs (right off Dragonhawk's platform) and Soothe Animal the Elder Lynx in that group to the left of his stairs. Hug the wall until you reach the spears.
* Distract the following lynx/troll pack (now to your left). Hug the spear wall and charge into the pack on the other side of the tree. When dead, mount up, stay behind the tank.
* Have your tank drag the crocolisk pat with tamer to the left wall to avoid agroing crocs by waterside with AoE.
* In Lynx's room, mark the pat. Pull it when it comes to the door
regardless
of what you're doing at the time. You'll not get another chance.
* Keep DPS on Lynx, never on his spirit. It takes too long to debuff the spirit for maximal DPS.

This Mount is recieved by completing the timed run. It is garunteed to drop from the fourth chest.
There are four bosses associated with the timed run: Nalorakk (bear), Akil'zon (bird), Jan'alai (dragonhawk), Halazzi (lynx). You have a total of 45 minutes to kill all four.
You start with twenty minutes. When you kill Nalorakk (the bear boss), you receive 15 minutes on top of whatever your time was when you killed him (not initiated the pull). When you kill Akil'zon (the bird boss), you receive an additional 10 minutes to the timer (additive in the same way). You receive no additional time for killing Jan'alai or Halazzi.
I'd suggest bird-bear-dragonhawk-lynx as that is what most guides seemed happy with. The bear-dragonhawk-lynx chain works so well given how the entrance/exits are laid out for each boss. Putting the bird boss first means you don't have to run from the lynx's room (which lets you out right in front of Hex Lord Malacrass) to the beginning of the bird boss. A strat DFR might use for the third boss is to run through the pulls and just wipe, coming up with a soulstone. I hate those scouts.
The LOOT is as such:
Fourth chest is guaranteed to drop a bear mount.
Third chest will drop an epic ring of BT/Hyjal quality.
EDIT:
The second chest will drop a weapon.
The first chest will drop armor
This will be credited to
Themistocles of lightning hoof realm, as I didn't want to type it all out, and couldn't remember which chest dropped which items except for the fourth.
Good luck everyone! You can see Gymmi of TI riding this on Kilrogg (US) horde side.

it will be sorta like the stratholm thing, you must start the ZA timed even and down all 4 animal bosses down in 45 mins,if u do this. thier will be a lootable vase outside the linx's room, and it will have a 100% chance of having the bear inside.
make no mistake this is not an easy task. your raid members better be in either full epix and not crappy epix, im talking your mag-hyjal epix(t5) and you better have ssc and maybe TK on farm.
btw, im not saying u have to be in those raids to do ZA, im in only a few kara epix and heroic blues and my guild does just fine, but all the same, to date we havnt come close to finshing the timed event, happy hunting
Last remark, for those who dont understand exactly what the timed event will be like, go to stratholm(east gate) and open the gate, you will get a debuff called barons ultimatum. you must kill him in 45 mins, try it and see how hard it is, Now imagine that 20x harder becouse ZA isnt a lvl 60 dungeon its a lvl 70 raid and not a raid for the light hearted either.
best time 51 mins.

My question is, does every1 in the raid get one or is it a drop that the master looter has to distribute?

If one dropped for everyone you would see a lot more people on them .
Ive only seen one person with one ever so far , that was a Blood Elf Mage in Alterac Valley Battleground .

Don't know why are you so excited :P
Though it is cool-lookin' ,it is still 100% speed increase, right? :D
Too bad that blizzard has not increased the speed of these epic mounts that drop form raids with, let's say, 10-30%(depending on the difficulty of the instance). I think this would be more motivating.
Stil,cool mount :)

why speed increase? this is for coolness
My point.
U see a night elf in SW on a stormsaber
U see a night elf IN SW on Amani war bear or deathcharger
which is more impressive?
thats what i thought
If this went 10% speed increase i would still bite some heads for it

oh my god.
The most depressing thing about this, is that I will never ride that bear. I know my limitations.

Is this Time event starts automatically after you've entered ZA ? Or need to start it somehow ? NPC talking ? or after killing 1st Beast Avatar Boss ?

Why do you people think it will be so easy to run ZA when WOTLK comes out? You did read about how their not gonna make it a HUGE jump like in BC right? T5 and T6 can be used all the way to lvl 80 without replacing any of it, or weapons for that matter. I think they said that Cataclysm's Edge will be the second highest DPS two hander even when wotlk comes out.
Sorry guys. Keep dreamin bout 4 lvl 80's runnin ur alt through Kara, it wont happen.
