It's not really an exciting addition for chest or feet (+100/150 Health and +12 Stamina aren't pricey enchants), head or legs (although this kit is much cheaper and easier to make than a Libram of Constitution), but this still has a few potential uses that I can see:
Good blues while levelling up in Outland. You're not going to put your Revered rep enchant on a pre-70 helm, your pre-70 legs don't deserve a cleft/cobra kit or spellthread, etc.
Tank gloves. The 240 Armor patch also introduced is probably better for Warriors, but I'm not so sure for Druids who are already overflowing in Armor (and no, the +240 wouldn't gain the Bear multiplier).
PVP gloves and maybe also shoulders if you're not Exalted Aldor/Scryer yet.
And needless to say if you plan to do any PVPing at 59 you might be wearing as many as four or five of these depending on your class. As with other kits, a higher level character should be able to apply these to Outland BoEs from the AH for you. edit: this doesn't seem possible, I was unable to attach this kit to a level 59 shoulder (ilvl 87) so the level 60 requirement refers to required level unfortunately.
Do we know what level leatherworking this can be trained at, and when it goes green/grey? The mats are very simple to acquire; this may prove viable for powerlevelling leatherworking.
New in patch 2.3
Trainable at 350 skill.
Green at 360 skill.
Well, wish I hadn't made those Clefthoof items to level - this is a great way to get from 350-365 (worst to level pre-2.3). Then on towards the Sha'tar and Keepers of Time drums to 375!
Having an easy, cheap way to boost stamina on the helm is a great thing for a protection paladin, when you aren't going around for resists.
I bought like half a dozen of these already, made someone on the AH very happy.
These go green at 355 and grey at 365. It took me 33 to get from 352-365.
does any one know if you can apply them thru the trade window?
This is exciting because it can be placed on 6 different slots.
This difference is quite likely there to replace any need one might have to use oldworld librams such as +100hp to head, for example.
I use this, for Shoulders Tanking Gear, (Bear)
I use the 243 armor for gloves. I get 73 Stamina, Just from Shoulders applying this kit.
For a bear, this isn't great except for aspiring tanks who still need to boost their stamina. This beats 150 hp cleanly with kings. later on when you start to need more avoidance, I would rather have 6 agi than the extra 4 stamina on the chest, and for the rest of the slots this doesn't even come close.
It took me about 14 to take me from 350-360 and about 6 to take me from 360-364.
Personally I wouldn't really bother trying to use this recipe to level to 365 since I made about another 7 and I still didn't get from 364 to 365. If you take into account what HazardBlade said, it probably takes a further 15 or so just to level that 1 skill point.
For anyone looking to buy these - they're absolutely the cheapest, easiest way to get yourself some free stam.
I just bought two of them and popped them on my helm and boots. +200 HP for 12g - I'm not complaining.
It's worth noting that, for a feral druid in bear form, these armor kits provides just as much health as Enchant Chest - Exceptional Health. Bears get a 25% bonus to stamina, and an additional 20% from talents, but those bonuses multiply, rather than adding, so each point of stamina gives a bear druid 15 health. These kits are certainly cheaper than the enchant, and they give
health than the enchant when combined with Blessing of Kings.
Does this stack with enchants?
where can i buy the pattern from plz ?
I see where I can find a Horde LW in Outland but what about for Alliance?
Edited, Jun 3rd 2008 9:50pm by dbancroft
Can someone lead me to an Alliance LW in Outland for these same skills?
Yellow at 355, Green at 360. But still, 10 cheaper and easier levels is nice =-D
On the AH- i see many many up for sale at 17g- well worth it :D and putting it on the head slot is nice too. very useful eh.
As Horde you can buy it from the Lw trainer in Thrallmar, along with some other new stuff that came with patch 2.3.
As Alliance it might be honor hold.
im alliance - just bought it from Honor Hold vendor - you can easy level 350-360 with this! but at 360 it becomes green =(
I got it from the trainer in lower city
This is a very nice item, because unlike the normal knothide armorkit, it can be applied to head, shoulders and legs. That makes them ideal for characters who do not yet have the money or the gear to get the end-game enchants on those slots, but still want some stat increase. Also great for levelling leatherworking, as said above.
no u cant stuck it with enchants
Can this be used in a trade window?
Requires 350 Leatherworking to learn how to make this.
As a leatherworker this is a great item doesn’t take very long to get the mats to make 6 of them, yes I know there are better things you can add to some slots but for now this will do just fine and you don’t have to worry about replacing them. As for the 60stam or 600hp (if every class gets the same hp from stam) it just might be what saves your life. I sell them for 10g each on AH and every time I get some one telling me no 6 of them don’t add up to 60stam it adds to 600hp or vice versa or they tell me about how any one who would buy one is dumb or what not. But it sells and they are a good way to get some extra gold along with any other ways you might have I myself like to mix it up so I don’t get bored trying to get my epic flight form.
10 G? Are you serious? I feel sorry for you. These run much higher on Rexxar. Make sure you're not giving away 40 G with each of theses while you're at it, because you may as well be.
Err, nevermind, prices were slashed big time.
Confirmed. You learn it at 350 from the trainer. Seems a little high to me since I've already made a stack of heavy knothide at 332. I want to make them now ):
