This will be an incredibly good item for all healing classes -- very well itemized. Shamans and Paladins would do well to craft one, since it isn't sandbagged with Spirit. The Spell Haste will be particularly nice in 2.4 since it will shorten the Global Cooldown as low as one second!
Speaking as a Resto Shaman, this item is actually better than our Tier 6 chest, which is ridiculous. That would make it the best chest piece in the game, other than (maybe) the Garments of Serene Shores
The pattern drops on Sunwell Plateau trash and can be traded in the auction house.
I think someone needs to point out the obvious too. What Shaman or Paladin in their right mind would take this over say, mmm, Mail or Plate healing gear? Like, oh say, these:
And "sandbagged with Spirit"??
Okay, I don't want to rain on your parade here, but--It's healing cloth, which is generally for oh, say, Holy Priests. The last time I checked, Priest actually want Spirit because it increases their +healing. So, if anything the lack of Spirit detracts from this item not makes it more appealing. Particularly unappealing to the class/spec it was pretty obviously itemized for.
And since the item is BoP, it's usefulness for a Paladin or Shaman is limited. Why on earth any Paladin or Shaman would be a Tailor and not a Leathercrafter or Blacksmith is beyond me. Especially when you consider that the other craftable healing gear is available.
A pally or shaman should really be focusing on the looking at these two healing chest linked above, since they are hands down better, than this item for them. The +Int and sockets are better for their respective classes.
3 Blue Sockets on this seems a bit dodgy -- sure, it's a huge upgrade for a priest in general because of the increases in Int and Stam, as well as spell haste; sure, a priest
Sparkling Star of Elune
s to make up for the deficit, but replacing one of the Blue Sockets with a Red Socket would really make it that much better. Moreover, a good priest's first instinct will be to socket this with
. And while, this item is a significant upgrade from, say, the robes out of ZA (
Robes of Heavenly Purpose
), which properly gemmed on a properly specced Holy Priest will actually net about 19 mp5 and 154 +healing due to spirit benefiting talents and gems, gemming this robe entirely with Royal Nightseyes only adds +9 healing (161), +5 mp5 (24) over the ZA robes.
Since we're stuck with 3 blue gems and a mediocre socket bonus, a better alternative with this item, since it already has so much mp5, might be to gem this with
Purified Shadow Pearl
The net result then would be-- +13 healing (165), +3 mp5 (21) for a Holy Priest.
Better still would be
Royal Shadowsong Amethyst
s, if you have them accessible on your server, which would increase the +healing net gain to 15.
Or you could forego the socket bonus all together, and put a Teardrop Living Ruby in every socket, but compared to the ZA robe then, you would actually lose 3 mp5, but you gain +34 healing (188).
By Far the best Healing Robe in the game... The sacrifce of spirit is made up with haste!
The above poster is not entirely correct. The usefulness of Spirit over MP5 is still a matter of personal casting style on the part of the priest. A priest spending over 70% in the FSR would reap a greater benefit from MP5 versus spirit. While +40 spirit would grant the said priest an additional +10 healing if at the percentage the priest is spending in the FSR makes it so 1 MP5 is equivalent to 3 spirit or higher the Robe of Eternal Light is still the better choice.
If however the priest spends less time in the FSR rule then the Robe of Faltered light is a better choice.
Blizzards buff to actual spirit yet it's recent tendency, (since BC came out), to deny us spirit on otherwise adequate gear is confusing and disheartening. Making us reliant on spirit and then neglecting to give us the gear required to adequately support our talent tree is pompous arrogance. I would much rather have the roughly 60 spirit that 16 mp5 equates to. Way to go blizz for giving us another Item that temps, but fails to please.
Robe of Eternal Light is inferior to the Sunwell Plateau trash drop, Robes of Faltered Light
(the item creators skipped the memo on 2.4 spirit changes, it seems).
Robes of Faltered give
+6 Intellect (not to be underestimated with spirit regen scaling with int)
+44 Spirit (inc. socket bonus)
-8 Spell Haste
-18 Mp5 (inc. socket bonus)
This one offers more Mana regen and more raw HPS thanks to the +healing coming from the 44 spirit, making you forget the 8 less Spell Haste easily. On top of that this costs 0 gold and no profession needed while being 5 Item Levels lower.
The existence of Robe of Eternal Light seems purely for raiding guilds to make some extra gold on selling patterns to casuals that don't really have a need for that level of gear, this is about as weird as the spell crit on sunwell healing cloth. Wasn't this supposed to be an upgraded perk for having tailoring, like Primal Mooncloth was before Tier5?
Just so everyone understands, I am a human priest and I now have both this and T6 healing robes. Both properly gemmed and enchanted.
For a healer like me this gave me:
-25 mp5 o5sr
- 0 gain/loss inside the 5 second rule
What we discovered is that these robes are better than most caster dps robes of T6 quality.
These robes = 121 dmg with 3 +12 gems. and 40 haste being 1 to 1 dmg/haste.
I just uploaded some screen shots from all angles.

This requires no thread how is it held together...
It's a special process. The mooncloth edges are frayed, then woven together...thus, requiring no runic spellthread.
Nice responce. I like it, it would fit with the making of mooncloth.
