This can best be compared with the
Vengeful Gladiator's Salvation
Season 3 healing mace.
Same +healing, lose 21 resilience for 7 stamina and 5 int, so is a slight upgrade for PvE healers.
Hammer of Atonement
Probably a sidegrade or a slight downgrade in terms of PvE for holy paladins, depending on what stats you're focusing on.
According to worldofraids.com:
New batch of items unlocked (they appeared on the server) by the armory stage of sunwell US pve realm, the name of some items and the ilevel 141-146 lead us to think this is the new BT quality badge loot Drysc talked about 8 days ago. We couldnt find a vendor to confirm our theory, so we think these items will be available once you finished some specific daily quests.
This one is in that list.
Crystal Spire of Karabor
+ 20 stamina
+ 13 intellect
- 22 healing
- Equip: If your target is below 50% health, your direct healing spells will cause your target to be healed for an additional 180 to 220 health.
When somebody finds out how many badges it costs can you post?
Also this is a huge upgrade to the Merc/Gladiator's Salvation:
Merciless Gladiator's Salvation
you get resil but gain loads of stam, +healing, and int
its also a huge uprage to anyone who doesnt raid anything past Gruul/Mag
As soon as 2.4 comes out i am rushing to the vendor to see if i can buy this, i have 80 badges saved at the moment and still have plenty of time left, i will have 150 badges easily when 2.4 comes out. How you might ask?
Well with the new daily heroic u can get an easy 5-7 badges in an hour or two and if your guild is in kara you can get about 22 badges from there with a full clear (not including animal bosses). This is a good 50ish badges a week (5 dailys through the week leaving your weekend free for kara, which is when most guilds run it)
Well just a little something i wanted to say, goodluck in getting the badges, i know i want my druid to have this nifty little item.
Here's screenshot of this mace:
this mace has a lot of +healing, which is good, but it doesn't have any healing longevity with it, such as mp5 or spell crit, which are primary raid stats for paladins.
If you were curious where this stands +healing wise against other maces:
Light's Justice off Prince.
Dark Blessing off Zul'Jin
If you're raiding Kara and aren't having luck on the drops I deffinitly suggest picking this up. However, don't make the same mistake that everyone else seems to be making and think that the new badge gear is "teh best evar" and claim you can just jump into Black Temple with it. Don't be 'That Guy.' Badge gear is designed to be supplimental. A bridge between Kara and T5 gear.
Aside from the Pally healing belt, and *possibly* the Pally chest, ZA gear is better than what most Pally healers will get off the new badges.
Is it possibly animated in 2.4? If you compare the icon to the SS it looks like the SS is 'folded' up.
How much of an overall increase would this be for a priest with the Light's Justice one?
You would lose some spirit and gain about 80 healing, but is it worth the 150 badges?
Would this be usable for a resto druid (tree form druid) ? It has a lack of spirit and mana pr second, but has a pretty high +heal, so compared with other badges items - Are the badges better spent on other tems?
As a Holy Pally for a year now, I find that Kara/ZA/Hyjal/SSC/Eye plate healing gear is low on STA. Unbuffed in my raid healing gear I sit at exactly 7777 life. That's low for anyone in Tier 5 instances. The STA increase this provides over every other current healing mace makes it more valuable than X amount of regen. for me, that X equates to 10 or less seeing as I have 140 MP5 while casting, unbuffed and I rarely run out of mana even without a Shadow Priest feeding me and not potting. Granted there are other factors to it (like mad DPS and excellent tanking).
For PvP, it's hard to swallow that 3150 points I could have put towards 2 pieces of armor on the S3 mace. Running 2-3 raids a week, 150 badges isn't too bad at all for a +116 heals, and 20 STA over my Shard of the Virtuous. This coupled with the STA on the new healing plate legs, I will shoot up a much-needed 40+ STA.
Intellect on most healing gear is more than adequate so it's nice to see a change here. Not sure how STA is for other healing classes but thanks blizz for this one.
Saw this mace on here today, and as a prot pally using the crystalforged sword for quite some time now, ive been wanting to upgrade my weapon. i saw this and while it only has 30 more spell power on it, it also has 12 more stam. So it would make this the highest stam pally tanking weapon out there atm. but idk if the loss in spell power is worth it or not....
For the moment, enchant glows on this weapon don't show.
Absolutely FANTASTIC piece for anyone who is unable to get their S3 mace due to lack of decent teammates, time, or bad class composition (maybe even skill but who'd admit that?). It actually has MORE stamina than Vengeful mace which makes it very atractive if you've already got 400+ resilience from other pieces but are lacking stam/healing...disc priests are usually in this position.
I picked this puppy up last night to replace my S1 mace, the loss of 17 resilience for the gain of 15 stam and 85 healing was very much worth it. Plus, I can save the 3K+ points once I hit 1850 and keep saving for S4 after I get my shoulders. 150 badges well spent.
this mace looks $%^&
How should I rate this vs the Zul'Aman mace Dark Blessing that has
+ 30 spell haste rating (1.9% at lv 70)
Is that spell haste worth something or...? Losing 42 sta and 33 heal seem pretty much to me.
Fantastic comments so far... "if you don't raid this is the...", "if you don't have access to this is the best, otherwise...", "this is a small upgrade to..." ... kinda reminds me of Thottobot comments.
The fact is, healing maces are a curse, because all healing classes (Paladins, Shamans, Druids and sometimes priests) want them. There's a grand total of >one per dungeon< healing mace drop in all instances I've been in so far (SSC, TK, MH, BT) and even if we have Illidan on farm for 2 months now, I still didn't see the healing mace drop. And when it does, there will be 7 other people in line wanting the same item.
Looking from my druid perspective, I can get this mace without waiting at the end of a line of people who have more direct heals than I do.
So lets finally say it: this is one of the top 3 maces anyone can get before Sunwell Plateau and I'd say it's a must if your guild wants to gear up fast enough to actually touch the SwP content. And since SwP is so damn needy when it comes to max-top-super-prep gear and consumables, every tiny upgrade counts, even if it's "only" +30 healing.
For me this seems kinda like a PvP mace without resilience. 0 Spirit (For Priests and/or Druids), 0 crit for those spam-happy Paladins, and 0 mp5, but a moderate amount of int and a huge amount of stam. Kinda lamesauce if you ask me, but considering spirit's huge buff in 2.4 (and all the other gear you'll be having soaking in regen), I guess it's an alright upgrade for Druids/Priests. Not sure what a Paladin or Shaman will do to pick up the lost regen, but at this point in itemisation, they probably wouldn't care.
I personally believe this mace to be a waste of badges.
There's no mana regen on this at all...Currently with my Ethereum Lifestaff I have 62 spirit extra spirit. As a druid, I get an additional 9.3 spirit, amounting to 71.3 spirit. This means I receive:
17.825 healing (adding up to 432.825 healing) and
Taking the Gavel over my staff means that I gain the following (ignoring stamina of course):
Obviously, any offhand would shorten the gap...with the Voodoo Shaker it turns out to be:
After six seconds I've lost the mana for one lifebloom while I'm in treeform.
After a minute I'm down 253.15 mana.
After five minutes I'm down 865.75 mana. And by eight minutes I've lost over 1300, which is the equivilant of up to eight healing spells...
As a druid I prefer having balanced stats (and a surplus of spirit) to excessive healing. Whenever I see druids with this I cry a little bit. I don't think any healers should really have it because there must be other badge gear he/she can use...
With 200 badges I received a surplus of 156 healing and more mana regen so for druids I would think that spending badges on this would be the last thing, if at all.
my favorite mace. badges well spent in my book
Some of us do not wish to partake in PvP. If you're a PvE oriented person, than this is a very nice upgrade to consider, especially if you are able to run Kara/heroics etc...the badges will add up pretty fast.
This is a godly +heal weapon, but the lack of mp5 makes me hesitate on spending 150 badges on it.
I am a bit disappointed about the lack of enchant glow on this mace,
But love it anyway. Worth the 150 badges IMHO

Oh man. I'm runnin hardcore heroics to get enough badges before the guys opens up. This mace is so BA. Best mace in the game ftw.
crystal spire of karabore much better than this but for your average wower whos not tapping illidan or in a 1850 arena team this is as good as it gets really....for now
back to farming primals for the 81 healing enchant ):
also need the badges -___-
well i did enchant with the +81 healing and it didnt got glow, still like more gladiators alvation look.
i hope blizzard add the glow soon
waiting for the anvil to complete...
3 more days here!
This mace is awesome for the raid-hungry Paladin...
Not only can it be used when holy spec'd (its obvious use), but it makes for an awesome tankadin weapon as well if you ever decided to offspec!
Speed 1.6, +155 spl dmg, +42 stamina, +28 int... How could a healadin not want it to be included with their prot set as well?
How can you go wrong?
Paladins, get this mace...
WELL WORTH THE BADGES!
Not sure if this is the best healing weapon for a holy priest as there is not spitit bonus on it what do u guys think? i am currently using lights justice which has less heals but still has spirit on it......
Added +81 healing to this mace but the no weapon glow :((
Anyone else having this problem?
150 big ones....
Got the mace today and enchanted it no glow /sigh i miss my glow. apparently the mace comes with a glow so when it is enchanted no glow is added onto the mace..
Can someone post a screen shot? I am going to be farming badges for this ASAP. It will be a nice upgrade form the lights justice. All the new badge loot is nice and the stam bonus is a huge plus.
I've just got this on my resto shaman. It does indeed get the glow from +30 int.
Is it worth 150 hard-won badgers?
Unless you are regularly downing Illidan (which, contrary to the impression you might get from some posters, is not the case for 99% of us), then yes it is.
The only comparable items are the S3 mace (again, out of reach for most mortals) and the mace from Vashj (more realistic for a few more people) and the one from Mount Hyjal.
All you have to do for this is run kara and heroics until your fingers hurt. If you can't do that, then:
a) You can do the Sunwell dailies and hope badges drop frequently from the supply bags. It should only take you a year or so.
b) You don't need it, because you're not doing any content that requires this level of awesomeness.
Basically if you're a healer, you should be working towards this, all the time hoping something similar drops from a raid boss so you can spend the badges on other items. I'm only disappointed in the lack of mp5, but the other stats more than make up for it.
Why the heck did they change it from the old skin, it looked alot better before.
Anyho, my badges are waiting comfotably as i wait for my slow ass realm to get the god damn vendor open xO
I ticketed a GM about the +81 healing enchant not glowing and he told be some weapons are designed to not show a glow. I don't think the Gavel has a glow of its own. I too hope Blizzard will fix this
The stamina looks yummy. I am strongly considering getting this as my main Tankadin weapon.
I recently aquired this incredible Mace (resto shaman here) and it will most likely last me until the next expansion. Too bad it looks sooo ugly. Is it a giant pinecone? Covered in fur? With a traffic light shoved inside? I don't get what they were going for...anyway, I originally thought the 150 badges was too steep a price but I reconsidered and am glad I did. At least I don't have to be embarrassed using a Kara weapon anymore, lol.
Unfortunately in the same place you buy this there is a new raid with a new mace......+500 healing....still the 42 stam is awesome
Im freaking piisseddddd.
this god dam mace has more +heal (with enchant) than my t2 druid had at level 60!
I use this for PvP healing, PvE healing, and tanking.
you wanna ask me if this thing worth 150 badges?
mm, I'll tell you it worth should worth more. Because this one weapon fits all the aspects I want for my pally.
Love the stats....but it's UGLY! :(
My guild has only been raiding Kara for a month. I got the mace from Maiden the first time through, but have been saving all my badges for this. I should get it this week. Despite my so-so chest (the Keepers of Time - Honored reward) and couple of remaining greens (ring and trinket), this thing will put me at 1900+ heals.
super ugly but for the healing/tankadin stats this gives you could put an oozing worm on a %^&* stick and i would use it
Good mace, but not sure id it's worth 150 badges... i guess I'll buy it after i got all the other new badge awards.
Btw... anyone feeling that the shammy awards are way better than pala awards? I will buy those instead, i think... will recount, but so far all the stats are better there...
Anyway... nice mace, but not necessary.
Great mace, could be the ugliest thing ever, but the stats are pretty enough to look past its goofy look.
Unfortunately, I don't think its necessary in most cases. Unless you have played enough to get everything you can possibly get to better your toon from badges, I don't think it is worth saving 150 badges and neglecting other gear in the process to getting this. A lot of people on here complaining about being embarrassed they are still using kara gear. As far as im concerned you can be in all greens if your getting the job done.
Bottom line is this. If you got 150 badges laying around and you cant use it for anything else. by all means, its a great mace and worth it. but i just feel that unless your in BT/sunwell its not necessary.
