Edit: Confirmed to be 100 badges in 2.4
So one site is speculating that this may be one of the "Tier 6 quality badge loots" addressed by Drysc a few days ago.
For comparison from our T6 chest:
It has 9 more stamina, but 2 less sockets.
37 less agility.
14 more defense rating.
Instead of 28 parry it has 34 dodge...
And instead of 23 block rating, this has 39 block value.
Quite an amazing chest piece really, maybe a slide grade to T6?
Regardless of what World of Raids might speculate though, I find it highly unlikely this would be some sort of badge loot that doesn't require the 25 man Sunwell raid. Even though Drysc said something about T6 level badge loot, I just don't see it. I'm sure we will find out in a few days where exactly this comes from.
Part of the tanking 'set' for warriors purchasable with 'badges' in 2.4
2.4 Badge of Justice rewards also include a tanking ring:
Currently on the ptr the badge loot costs are:
Chest/Legs - 100 Badges
Gloves/Belt - 75 Badges
Rings - 60 Badges
Two-Hand/Caster Weapons (Including 1H Caster) - 150 Badges
One-hand Weapons - 105
Off-hands - 45
Just wanted to mention that this chest piece is NOT a sidegrade to T6. Parry is unequivocally better than dodge, and +37 agility is yet again, clearly better than an extra 9 stamina. At this level, all tanks are defense-capped (490) so the increased defense rating is nothing to write home about.
The only area where this piece excels over T6 is the block value. Even so, the extra block value is not worth losing 2 gems over. It's arguably better than T5, although without any expertise or +hit rating, it lags behind TPS-wise.
I have no idea why people are freaking out about these new pieces. Most are progression pieces (stam-based) and would only be used by a tank in BT and beyond for trash tanking. Not only that, but given set bonuses and armor values, these pieces are NOT T6-equivalent. Far from it.
Block rating is the most useless stat for a tank, unless you are trying to be passively uncrushable.... Which in t4 u r not
Do note that this, the tanking chest, has over 200 armor less than the healing one.
in regards to hedgehogs comments - the badge vendor needs daily quests to be unlocked .
The Sunwell raid progression unlocks additional bosses not vendors.
For those with the Zul'jin chest, it doesn't seem to be worth the badges.
I wouldn't say a much larger health pool. It's 3 stam. However, the high dodge and the extra def are nice. I can equip more stuff from ZA without going below the def cap, or even use more DPS gear in 5 mans.
I'm glad the added so much defense, +hit, and +expertise to these items. I too am looking at the possibility of wearing more dps gear for trash and heroics. The later two stats doing so much more for your TPS output than mere block value can, i'm happy to see more of this kind of gear being added.
Now if they could just give us a little str on this stuff I'd be thrilled. Having the same AP i did when i was a mid-40s warrior in all the newer tanking gear does not make me feel like our gear is itemized well.
Just posted on mmo-champion.com, the armor values have been increased on basically everything SWP and the new badge loot. Just like I thought. This BP is going to 1765 AC. The Tanking belt and leggings also were increased.
I would like to hear from Paladin tanks if they prefer this chest or the Shattrath Protectorate's Breastplate.
BTW, I got a pala tank and I'm going for the Chestplate of Stoicism.
snakeroo, Im actually thinking about getting this chest over
. I prefer the extra avoidence on Chestplate of Stoicism over spell hit and the damage and healing.
Parry is not "unequivocably" better than dodge. Some pertinent facts:
It takes 22.4 parry rating to give 1% parry.
It takes 18.9 dodge rating to give 1% dodge.
1 parry rating has the same itemziation cost as 1 dodge rating.
Thus, an item with, for example, 34 parry rating (1.52% parry) could have been given 34 doge rating (1.8% dodge), which offers more actual avoidance.
Also, the additional attacks that result from having higher parry rating in turn create more opportunities for bosses to parry attacks themselves.
While the extra threat one gets from parrying attacks is nice, it's not as cut and dry as "Parry > Dodge all the time, no exceptions."
when are they gonna update the armour on the plate gear???
Chestguard of the Warlord vs Chestplate of Stoicism (12 stam gems and +150 heath)
The Stoicism chest is an upgrade in my opinion.
+5 Effective Health
more than the one off Zul'Jin. The only thing that makes me hesitant is the loss of 1.65% Hit Rating but I think the avoidance and SBV is worth it.
I'm in ZA guild (done some Gruul/TK/SSC, but our interest is 10 man), and currently using
for tanking (properly gemmed for the role, of course), but I'm considering switching to this piece. My reason for considering it is the large buff to my avoidance that such a change would give me, but I'm worried about what I'd lose. I'd take a small hit to both stamina and armor, but my biggest worry is the hit my threat generation would take. Is the 39 SBV enough to offset the loss of 39 str, 12 hit rating, 39 crit, and 84 armor avoidance?
makes good for paladin and of course other stuff too
