Confirmed, at 17 April 2008, Alumi sells this item at honored rep with the Caverns of Times, this itens appeared with the patch 2.4 and are spread with the diferent Outland factions, good for Pvp inicial gear

This sett is really good if you just turned lvl 70 and dont wanna stuck with the noobs til your guild starts go kara.

I bought this whole set once the new patch came out and it's fine for a basic lv 70 mage package. However, compared to my mix of gear from OL quests and dungeons it is weaker in every respect. The stamina is high which boosts HP, but in terms of spell dam, spell crit and mana regen this set (unsocketed) isn't that great.

This is fine for PvP, but in terms of PvE instancing you can build a much better suit of gear from regular play - and as it takes honoured with 5 factions to get a full set it isn't a worthy replacement for the stuff you probably already have.

That is right, It is indeed very weak, but its bether than nothing, ofc i got some replacements now allready. Frozen shoulders and chest really soon.

my guild is gonna start raiding kara soon so im getting to 70 as fast as i can.
when i hit 70 i plan on getting this set to do my 1st kara runs as i can already get 3 parts of it. just need lower city and sha'tar rep.

Indeed, you cannot start kara with this sett..

Get gladiator sett from BG... or make the sett, Spellfire, Shadoweave or Primal mooncloth sett, + whitemend or Spellstrike sett. ^^ then u got enough to start kara, with this? No.. no group will invite you, or u will whipe if your other group members are full epic geared...

Why is Kara even being mentioned in relation to this set?

The presence of Resilience on this set clearly identifies it as a PVP set, the precursor to the Gladiator set.

In that role it is very nice, if you can get honored with each of these factions as you level, you can very cheaply get a decent amount of resilience and stam, not to mention a number of gem slots.

PVE gear is obviously going to be better for PVE encounters.... however this set is not intended to be for PVE.

This set will definately give a leg up to the newly minted 70's. Kind of a nice boon to be able to have a halfway decent set of gear right outta the box once you get honored with all the factions. Sure, you're not gonna want to jump headlong into heroics or Karazhan with it, but it'll for sure give you a nice set to pursue better gear in.

It's at least something with some Resilience for those going for the pvp sets.

Besides, think of the fun the folks on the Roleplay servers will have with these matching sets.

Always a silver lining eh?

The 2 piece bonus for this set is 35 resillience so when used in conjunction with 2 pieces of gladiator gear which also has 35 ressilience you have a decent pvp set to start with. It's cheap and great for starting out pvp'ing.

I agree that this is not a set built for Kara, but someone said to go with Frozen Shadoweave set instead. I replaced my Frozen set with this becuase when you add in the additional pieces and the right gems all my stats were better with the Evoker's set (except armor)and it's looks really nice for all you role-players out there. It's a good set to start out with to works towards epic gear as long as you get in strong groups. I've been able to run Heroics in this set and held my own very well. As long as you have a good healer and tank it works great to run heroics and works towards gear to be able to run Kara.
