Gold Gold Gold, not worth the time to mine it and certainly not worth a gold piece per bar anyway. Goes for about 8 Gold for a stack of 20, if your lucky. Despite the fact it's hard to find. Comes down to those bloody alchemists transmutnig the iron, spoils the economy.
Only a 2-bit alchemist wastes their timer on gold. The reason no one buys gold bars is because everything on the reagent list sucks :P.
The best part about gold is that smelting it can get a miner up from 155 to 175 in a minute or two. That allows you to mine Mithril nodes.
well its good to up Jc skill
and to to learn to smelt dark iron (need 20 gold bars)
thats also somthing
Oddly enough a single gold bar vendors for less than one gold...
The gold bar priece seems to have skyrocketed. At least on my server. The supplies are really low and every profession boosted character seems to need a lot mats.
Gold bar price on Twisting Nether eu is around 3 gold for 1 bar.
Other then this Gold veins seem pretty rare and you need 150 mining while they usually are around tin veins wich only need 120ish skill.
The only transmute worth anything is Thorium to Arcanite; as it's the only way to get it.
Of course not counting the elemental transmutes, but only a few of them are worth while anyways and the recipes are rare and expensive.
Transmuting this stuff is great money, got me around 10 gold over time at level 39 for mount fund
And ... gorgonga.. 225 isnt maxed
To Learn ANY CRAFTING skill (BS, LW, Alc, Eng, Tai) you need to be:
up to 75 (Apprentice) - 5 lvl
up to 150 (Journeyman) - 11 lvl, 50 skill
up to 225 (Expert) - 20 lvl, 125 skill
up to 300 (Artisan) - 35 lvl, 200 skill
For GATHERING skills there're no lvl requierments (i haven't seen any, correct me if i am wrong) and it's simple:
up to 75 (Apprentice) -
up to 150 (Journeyman) - 50 skill
up to 225 (Expert) - 125 skill
up to 300 (Artisan) - 200 skill
For this topic it means that you need to be
lvl to learn alchemy to 225 (if you have enough resorces/money ofcourse) and learn the needed recipes.
For secondary skills (Cooking, Fishing, First Aid) i know that you need to hit 40 lvl to go for 300 skill.
I could have sworn Gold Bars used to sell to vendors for 1 gold each.
Did the price drop in 1.9? Or am I smoking crack?
I posted earlier about Lv35 being the required level. The item level is 45 which typically means that the required level to use is Lv35. However since there is no required level given, (besides the 225 skill) I'm starting to think that my Lv28 rogue can learn this.
Has this been confirmed already? (reading previous post) It seems that way. Anyhow, I'm going to try it the weekend.
It's confirmed. so apparently you can use the Philosophers stone at lv 20
I play on the PvE, EU server Nordrassil, and gold bars are quite useless to blacksmiths.
Firstly, gold bars are abudant to the point of flooding, both in the Auction House as well as gold veins in any and all mining spots. People cannot even sell 10 gold bars for 1 gold piece at the AH.
Secondly, the whole server is flooded with Alchemists, who spam the ridiculous "Transmute Iron to Gold" recipee, thereby flooding the market with gold bars even more. Soon, iron bars will be more expensive than gold bars!
Two-and-a-half days of running around Badlands and Tanaris, have given me 118 gold bars, which I quite frankly, don't know what to do with. I cannot sell them because nobody buys them, and I cannot even use them to manufacture something, since gold alone cannot be used to make anything. The abudance of gold veins to mine is also very annoying. Where Iron or Mithril ought to have spawned, I see annoying, useless gold veins popping up, over and over again.
----------->Profit wise, the only item that can give the Smith a miniscule profit when sold to vendors, as well as the best material-to-profit ratio, is I think the Golden Scale Leggings
. Since I feel it is a shame to just vendor off all those useless gold bars, I will make as many of those Leggings as possibe. Needless to say, I have got dozens of equally useless, iron bars. Wherever you go, you bump on an Iron or Gold vein in this game.
------------>In case somebody from Bliz reads this, a good idea would be discontinuing the "Transmute Iron to Gold" recipee, or making it a lot more difficult to perform. That would finally give some value to our dozens of useless gold bars.
Me and another player (both fairly new to WoW) thought this would be a good money making scheme, he mines and smelts the iron and i transmute then A/H the stacks and stacks of gold! Muhahahahaa. 24h cooldown! it sucks bigtime. we should have researched it...
Just done the same as the above, what a wast of time and gold... I should have saved my money to buy a mount
how much is 1 Gold bar worth each to any vendor.
ya thats what i said dont want to reapeat yes it is important to me
gold bars sell 4 6s each to vendors which sucks
I am a Jemcrafter in the Gnomer server, and I need iron to gold xmutes. My name is Orag, so if there r any alchemists on that server that can do the iron-gold xmute, send me a letter and I will keep a permanent copy of it, and u can do them for me. Im paying 1g per x-mute.
Well i am rich from the old patches from when gold sold fpr 1g each i got about 421 gold a day so i got about 500 gold from ah but now it dont sell for much iron is better
for those who r having trouble with sellnig gold and have too much of it, simply scroll up and see all the things BS's need to use it for, soooooo with the iron that u also proubly have give it to a BS telling him to jsut make everything he can possibly make with what u gave him tip (1g-2g) he gives u all the things back and then u go around looking for a enchanter
give the stuff to him and he'll DE (disenchant) all of it
im not sure about other servers but my server enchanting mats r the biggest thing on the market,
i have loads of em and in stead of selling them and making millions i give ppl enchants for half the price of what the mats r worth(sometimes 1/4)
so bussiness for me with my proffesion (enchanting 360'sh) is huge, finding some1 in trade channel to have bussiness with is EASY
u might say im losing cash and i should sell my mats on the AH
for one i want to get to 375 so i can make enchants that even though the mats cost a bunch they r SICK
secondly i have a ton of mats simply becuz i quest alot and i have a ton of useless greens
there is always something to do with your gold, be it truesilver or silver,
-if ur an ecnhanter, quest more than you do instance
I found 2 gold veins in Arathi Highlands along the mountains to the south near Stromgarde Keep.
Illegal money forging busnissess
really... you would think tey would let you use gold/silver/copper bars to make money :P
Gold bars not useful? Low vendor buy price? Don't know where to find it? Gold is not difficult to farm, and definitely not to sell. Mainly because you're mining Iron and getting the occasional Gold instead, just as Silver sometimes replaces Tin. Gold seems to be in demand and is priced around 1G/bar on my server (U.S., Altar of Storms). Silver actually goes for 13G a stack. And of course vendor's won't give a good price, they don't on anything. So make it easy on yourself. If you're farming minerals on Horde, go to 1Kn, it's LOADED with Copper, Tin, Iron, even the occasional Truesilver or Mithril. Also do yourself a favor and DON'T treat the stone you collect as vendor trash, it's worth cash on the AH (Course Stone can sell for up to 3G per stack). It's also usually more effective to sell stacks, so just put those 7 Silver Bars in the bank until they become 20, then get yourself paid!
Another way to make some quick cash on AH lvl 25-30 for Horde is to farm Blackthorn Ridge. Very high drop rates for Wool and Linen from the pigmen there. Copper, Tin, and Silver are all over the place, plus drops. And herbs! Wild Steelbloom and Grave Moss are available here, which can go for 10G a stack on the AH.
Here's another tip: Once you have a good stack of cash on hand, don't be afraid to run the market on the items you're farming! Let's say you've got 5 stacks of Wool that should go for at least 1.5G each, and some lame-brain comes in and starts selling them for 1G. Buy his listings and re-list them with the higher price. Don't sell yourself short by LOSING 50s a stack by trying to compete with prices that are too low, just buy low and then sell high. Set your own price point and over time if you dominate that item, other's will begin to price their listings accordingly, which helps everyone make $$$.
One other tip on farming - get a mining bag! It's a cheap 20 slot bag that sorts the minerals for you, a no brainer really.
, this site uses a Google Maps interface and you can use it to find the spawn locations for any mineral in Wow.
Thanks for the tip vh1atomicpunk..you're a gem!(no pun intended:) I went to the map and found that gold veins are plentiful around Ashenvale and Winterspring. Heck, it even gives the coordinates..
smelt gold can be learnt from mining trainer in Tanaris...but it has no source marked on the tab?...
I noticed this too a few days ago. Even just 2 weeks ago, 1 gold bar was selling for 1 gold piece. I picked up 20 gold bars for 4 gold 2 days ago.
Price seems to have gone up on my server. I think because it can be used in a tailor patten used in an AD quest. Which is why I'm after Gold Bars atm.
Has anyone else noticed that the price on stacks of Gold Bars in the AH has dropped significantly recently? A few months ago I could sell stacks of 20 Gold Bars (that I transmuted from Iron Bars as an Alchemist) for 8 to 10 gold pieces without a problem. Now I notice that stacks of 20 are selling for only 4 gold pieces each. What's up? Are there more people making them? Are they dropped more often? Are there fewer recipes that they are needed for?

bit is not silver sold for silver?
Prices have gone as high as 40G a stack on Lightbringer (Horde) and Azuremyst (Horde)
Why is this not sold for gold... it is gold after all.
