The way I understand this works is as follows (can someone confirm / refute these figures ?)

Rogue's Maximum Lockpicking Skill is 5* Rogue's Level.

The minimum skill to open a Box appears to be 5 Levels (25 skill points) below the Boxes level

The Boxes Levels are listed on Thottbot so...

Go to lakeshire and find a mill in the mountains. If u follow the road east you'll get there. There's a lot of practice lockpicking boxes. Open a few and your on your way.

If anyone got a problem with finding lockboxes to improve the lockpicking skill, then you can ask one of the Rogue-Trainers, there are only one rogue trainer in each capital city that knows, but they're all kinda at the same place. There will be an alternative below the: I requier training and I wish to unlearn my talents where it sais something like: Where can I find lockboxes to improve my Lockpicking Skill? and then he'll answer you, pretty simple. On�y Rogues learn Lockpicking, at lvl 16.

Its funny how many people look for rogues specifically. Keep in mind that you can also ask someone who is a high level blacksmith who uses blacksmith keys to open these.

I get a lot of "LF Rogue to open Steel Lockbox!" and when i get there and open it they go "WTF How'd you do that, you aren't a rogue!"

Rogues and blacksmiths both can open lockboxes.

By the way, reinforced steel lockboxes are definitely more than 200 because my TrueSilver skeleton keys won't even open them, and they are for level 200 locks.

BUT, rogues can open them without wasting mats. Asking for a rogue is just being polite. :)

For those who need to level pick lock skill and do not know where to go you can try to go to Alther's Mill (Or w/e it is named.) in Redridge Mountains. You can train your skill up to the low 100's for a start. From there you have to move onto something heavier...Hope this helps.

For those blacksmiths out there, this box requires the truesilver skeleton key to open. The golden skeleton key does not work.
