The transition from Legion to Battle for Azeroth also shifted healer viability within Mythic+, and with this change came the rise of Mistweaver Monks. The specialization now offers extremely reliable single target healing due to instant cast spells during

Weaknesses
One of the weakest externals

places a large shield on the target that also increases all periodic healing you do to that target while the shield persists. Not only does this shield almost instantly get consumed in most cases during dungeons, but it also has a long cooldown of 2 minutes relative to the effect it applies. Compared to other healers externals which provide damage reduction, such as a Restoration Druid’s

or Holy Paladin’s

falls short of providing the extra help a tank would desire for some lethal trash packs or scary boss moments.
Mediocre healer DPS
: Although healer damage is not as defining of a metric as it was in Legion for dungeons, it can still be helpful for certain boss pushes or just barely making a key timer. That said, Monk damage is on the weaker side compared to some of its competitors such as Feral Affinity Resto Druids and Discipline Priests.
Low mana efficiency
: While you will eventually learn mana management for boss encounters with time and experience, Mistweavers are definitely culprits of mana guzzling. With instant casts and high costs on abilities like
氤氲之雾
and
精华之泉
, trying to play catch up or accommodate burst healing can easily make you run out of mana quickly. This thirst becomes painfully obvious during trash from pull to pull, as you will often find yourself needing to drink after almost every or every other pack compared to some other healers.
Best Races for Mythic+
Racial abilities can actually make quite a difference in high Mythic+. The passive minor stat bonuses from different races do not really matter in the grand scheme of things, but the utility each race brings should be considered. I recommend the following:
Alliance

- An extremely strong option for Alliance doing M+, Night Elves provide the
影遁
passive, which can be utilized in several unique ways throughout dungeons. There is no doubt that Shroud of Concealment has become a meta defining ability so far in BfA dungeons for skipping a plethora of trash pack, but sometimes you just are not able to get a Rogue in the group to provide this ability. With
影遁
, you can still do the same skips without needing a Rogue or having to waste a battle res, which can be a huge time save both for not needing to wait for a Mass Res as well as not having time deducted for the group deaths. In addition to being able to assist with trash skips,
影遁
can also be used as an “immunity” or a dodge for certain boss mechanics, such as the Upheaval cast in

encounter of

and the Pursuit cast by

in

. Being able to avoid these mechanics can be imperative for surviving or for allowing higher boss uptime for yourself or the party to maximize damage during an encounter. In addition to

, Night Elves also possess the

passive, increasing your Haste or Crit by 1% during night or day respectively. This passive stat increase can be quite nice, especially during the day for a Mistweaver.

- One of the newer editions to the game with the launch of BfA, Dark Iron Dwarves have quickly proven to be a very strong contender in the racial department. They have the racial

, which will remove all poison, bleed, disease, curse, and magic effects and give you a flat amount of primary stat as well as additional primary stat per debuff removed. This racial allows the removal of many different debuffs across all of the BfA dungeons, but most notably this racial can also remove debuffs caused by M+ affixes, such as

. The potential of this ability for clutch saves or smoothing out some rough bosses is extremely high. On top of this safety net, the racial also provides a noticeable boost to your primary stat, which can help with your throughput.

- Similar to their Dark Iron brethren, the Dwarves have a racial known as Stone Form. This ability will also remove all poison, bleed, disease, curse, and magic effects, but instead of providing a primary stat bonus over its duration, it gives a 10% damage reduction buff. This racial will also remove affix debuffs such as
重伤
and
死疽
, making

just as good as

for utility. The only difference between Dwarf and Dark Iron Dwarf lies in the extra survivability provided by

, so it is really player preference.
Horde

- Probably the best option for doing M+ on Horde side is Blood Elf. While not as dominant or required as it felt in Legion,

still remains one of the strongest racials on Horde side for dungeons. This racial now acts as an AoE purge of magical effects, contrasting from its previous iteration as an AoE silence. With the amount of buffs that can be purged throughout many of the BfA dungeons,

remains a strong tool to deal with these mechanics. Along with this utility,
奥术洪流
also refunds 3% of your mana with each use, which can come in handy over the course of boss fights during

weeks in particular. Blood Elf also grants a passive 1% increase to Crit, one of the more desired stats for Mistweavers.

- Another strong contender for M+ lies with our bovine friends.

as an AoE stun can be crucial for certain mob packs in dungeons. You only have access to so many interrupts for some of the fatal casts present in these trash packs, so having access to AoE stops is a pretty crucial factor for completing dungeons.

does have diminishing returns with other AoE stuns, such as your own

or a Demon Hunter’s

, so you must be aware of when mobs are still able to be stunned by

. This ability also has a target cap of 5 mobs, so this limitation must also be taken into consideration. In addition to this, Tauren’s also possess the

racial, increasing their stamina by a flat amount, which can assist with living in certain situations.

- Similar to their Vanilla Tauren counterparts, the Highmountain Tauren also provide an AoE stun and some additional tankiness.

can be used to knock down all mobs in a line and is not target capped like

, but this ability can be a little harder to use as it will require you to position properly for both hitting mobs and where the charge will take you at the end of its line. This ability does share diminishing returns with stuns. Highmountain also possess the

passive, which increases your Versatility, and the

passive, reducing the damage you take. Both of these passives are nice tools to help with survivability in M+.
Mistweaver Monk Utility

- Knock down all enemies in a 5 yd radius, stunning them for 3 seconds. This AoE stun comes in very handy throughout many M+ dungeons. This ability can be used to stop important mob interrupts or simply used as a way for the tank to have more uptime on large trash packs without getting fatally damaged.

- Incapacitate the target for 1 minute. Damage taken by the target will remove this effect. This crowd control is particularly useful for keeping dangerous mobs out of the fight, as well as being able to last second interrupt a dangerous cast if there are no other options available.

will no longer remove damage over time effects with BfA, so this is something to keep in mind when using the ability as well.
玄秘掌
- Monks bring the
玄秘掌
debuff to the table, which increases the physical damage taken by enemies you harm by 5%. This debuff is particularly strong with double melee compositions, as well as buffing the majority of a tank’s damage and some ranged DPS abilities as well, such as Earthquake. No other class brings this debuff, and you cannot get it from outside sources (such as Scrolls).

around the targeted area, knocking all enemies out and preventing them from entering that area for 5 seconds. This ability is also extremely valuable in many dungeons, being used to group mobs around corners, knock mobs to interrupt dangerous casts, help tanks kite a large trash pack, or just pushing enemies into more favorable positions for pathing. There are many possibilities with this ability and it is also a tool only Monk’s possess, adding to the unique flavor they bring to a party.

- Taunts the target, forcing them to move toward you at 50% movement speed. While a few classes possess a taunt ability, Monk is the only one that will increase the move speed of the target. This movement speed increase can be useful for repositioning mobs or moving them out of certain mechanics, such as
血池
. Having a taunt is also handy to help a tank out by resetting
死疽
stacks or alleviating some heavy damage.

- While mostly known as a strong defensive cooldown, Diffuse can also be used to reflect some heavy damage back on to certain targets. Effects like Electrifying Shock and Molten Gold can be reflected back on to their casters, providing some extra damage to the boss instead of a global being used to simply dispel it.

- Often referred to simply as “port,”

offers the monk additional mobility as well as a backup plan if things start to get messy. Port can be used in a medley of ways, from easing boss mechanics or avoiding some messy ground effects.

- A large, group-wide AoE heal that will also dispel all harmful magic, disease, and poison effects on allies hit. This abilities mass dispel function can be extremely useful for clutch situations, such as a Poison Nova cast going off on the Council of Tribes encounter in King’s Rest or the Festering Harvest cast applying Decaying Spores to the party.

Below you will find the most optimal build for all dungeons you will encounter as well as a description for these talents with other viable options.

(Passive) - Increases the duration of

by one second and its healing bonus by 10%. This talent earns a clear spot in dungeons with the how often you will end up maintaining

on the tank or a priority healing target. In addition to this talent’s strength, it also has some synergy with a recommended talent in a later tier,

, as you will have constant reduced cost

s with the added strength.

- Shoots a ball of Chi energy up to 40 yds in a straight line, dealing damage to all enemies and healing all allies that it passes through. This talent can be useful in some situations, such as dealing damage during large trash packs for some burst AoE damage, but overall feels underwhelming when trying to utilize its healing proponent, as it can be unreliable being able to hit all members of your party in every situation you would like to.

- Increases a friendly target’s movement speed by 70% for 6 seconds and removes all roots and snares. This talent has endless possibilities of useful in dungeon content, whether it’s removing a root or slow for yourself or a tank, speeding the tank up for a trash pull, removing a mechanic such as Blackout Barrel, or just having the additional movement with double
滚地翻
. This talent is highly recommended in all situations.
真气突
- Torpedoes you forward a great distance and applies a 30% movement speed buff for 10 seconds, stacking up to two times. This talent replaces the
滚地翻
ability and propels you a further distance. While this talent allows a more passive movement speed benefit, allowing for less CD management, there are not many unique ways to utilize it compared to
迅如猛虎
. In addition to the lack of utility, you won’t be able to have on demand movement speed separate from your
滚地翻
s, so take this talent with caution.

by 25%. This talent provides a passive mana reduction to two of your most frequently used abilities in M+ and provides both a smoother and more consistent mana usage curve throughout a dungeon. This talent is my personal recommendation for all dungeons.
法力茶
- Reduces the mana cost of your spells by 50% for 12 seconds. With only a 1.5 minute cooldown, this ability has potential to allow for a large amount of burst healing with little punishment on mana, however it can be quite situational and can easily lose value in the long run if you are not properly managing this cooldown.

- Forms a
平心之环
at the target location for 5 seconds. Enemies within the Ring or that try to enter will be knocked out of the Ring. One of the most unique tools that a Monk can bring to M+ is right here. This talent can be used in a plethora of ways, such as knocking mobs to interrupt casts, grouping mobs in small corridors, or simply offering a kiting tool for your tank. A mere 45 second cooldown on this ability allows a lot of flexibility for this talent, regardless of how it is used.
散魔功
- Reduces all magic damage taken by 60% for seconds, and transfers all currently active harmful magic effects on you back to the original caster if possible. With infinitely scaling dungeons comes infinitely dangerous abilities. This talent provides one of the strongest defensive abilities out there aside from an immunity. While it will not work against melees and physical abilities, you will find in dungeons there is a significant amount of magic damage that you can mitigate with this talent. On top of this mitigation, you can also reflect some deadly abilities back on to their casters, such as

’s Chemical Burn or a

’s Electrifying Shock, dealing massive damage to them.

- Reduces all damage you take by 20% to 50% for 10 seconds, with larger attacks being reduced by a larger amount. Compared to Diffuse, this talent allows for mitigation against all damage types, both physical and magical, however the varying amount of damage reduction offered by the ability can be inconsistent at times with the minimal amount matching your own baseline wall and the maximum amount not surpassing that of
散魔功
’s base reduction. On top of this variation, this talent sports a 30 second longer cooldown than
散魔功
. While this talent proves useful against specific bosses, such as

in the Council o’ Captains of

, it can often be overshadowed by the unique niche filled by

- Summon a Jade Serpent Statue at the target location for 15 minutes. When you channel

onto a target, the statue will also being to channel a weaker, longer duration

on your target. The Jade Serpent Statue is a vital tool in the Mistweaver kit, providing mana free, single target healing throughout the dungeon at the simple cost of remembering to keep placing it. The statue can be used to assist in massive tank healing during big pulls, priority target healing when it’s needed, or topping a damaged ally that is not in danger of dying while you can focus elsewhere.

(Passive) -

now empowers your next 2 abilities. Although this talent is not the flashiest, nor the most spec defining, the extra charge of
雷光聚神茶
adds a noticeable benefit to both your healing and damage throughput as well as adding flexibility to the decision making behind the cooldown.
Gearing
Stat Priority
Intellect > Mastery > Critical Strike > Haste >= Versatility
Intellect - Intellect is a simple raw overall power gain for all of your abilities and currently should be prioritized. As such, you will generally go with highest item level pieces then follow the recommended stat priority.
Mastery (
迷雾之风
) - A high value stat in dungeon content, as the single target healing provided by
迷雾之风
becomes much more meaningful with only five players compared to 20+. The free of cost, additional healing gained by stacking mastery gives a noticeable improvement to both mana management as well as throughput.
Critical Strike - Crit has some pretty good synergy with Mastery, as
迷雾之风
is capable of critting, therefore any ability which procs mastery essentially has the potential to get two crits from one global cooldown. Additionally,
起死回生
, a recommended Azerite trait for M+, adds even more value to crit.
Haste - This stat does not scale very well with Mistweaver compared to some other specializations, and as a result does not provide a benefit as noticeable as Crit or Mastery. In the long term, Haste begins to fall behind in mana efficiency and can result in an unenjoyable experience for both you and your party members as both their health bars and your mana bar reaches zero.
Versatility - With how well Mistweaver scales with Crit and Mastery, Vers does not find a priority spot in the stat distribution. That said, a little bit of Vers never hurt anyone, but don’t go out of your way to get it.
Recommended Trinkets
For general purposes, you will want to run one on-use trinket and one proc based trinket in dungeons. This setup provides a balance of having some control over a significant increase to your throughput, acting as a “mini cooldown” of sorts, and having a constant, passive increase to fall back on throughout the dungeon. Trinkets are listed in order of preference.

by one second. This trait provides a noticeable boost to one of the most frequently casted abilities by a Mistweaver in M+. In addition to this buff, the cooldown reduction to

can come in clutch and help with managing the ability. It is important to note as a generality, when item level gets higher, so do the value of secondary stats. This situation causes traits that provide significant secondary bonuses to become more worthwhile than stacking multiple Uplifted traits.

stack, hence why one is recommended.)
Good
Below are all good options for outer ring traits to take on a Mistweaver and can be taken to match playstyle accordingly combined with the two traits listed above.

- One of the new traits introduced with the

raid. This trait causes your abilities to proc the

buff, providing a moderate heal and haste buff to a nearby ally every 5 seconds for 15 seconds.This trait has proven to be very strong in both raid and Mythic+ alike, sporting a high uptime on a strong spot heal that also provides a boost to Haste to both you and a party member.

- A new trait introduced with 8.1, replacing Invigorating Brew. This trait causes the abilities empowered by your
雷光聚神茶
to grant you a significant bonus to a secondary stat for 10 seconds corresponding to that ability. The ability to control which secondary you gain and when you gain it (with proper Tea management) makes this trait a good choice in dungeon content. One unfortunate interaction with this trait is that it does not work with the
雷光凝聚
talent, only providing the secondary boost from the first ability cast. The cost of this trait comes in the rather short duration of the bonus provided, and the global cooldown you must incur to earn it.

- Your
复苏之雾
has a chance to provide a significant Haste boost for 10 seconds when it heals an ally. Haste, although not the most desired stat, can still be good when given in a surplus amount. The main risk of this trait comes from having a proc when it is undesired, and potentially being without one for when it is needed.
狡诈契约
- Another trait introduced with the
达萨罗之战
raid. This trait provides a moderate amount of Intellect as long as you remain above 50% HP. Whenever you fall below 20% HP, you will take 15% increased damage. This trait has a very obvious opportunity cost; while it sports a flat increase to your throughput, it also comes with a risk of dying to slight overkills you may not have died to otherwise. The Intellect portion of this trait will stack, but the damage taken portion will not. Upon choosing this trait, be prepared to play accordingly in the dungeon to ensure you are reaping the full benefits without putting yourself in harm's way.

- Causes your spells and abilities to provide a significant increase to your Crit for 14 seconds. With Crit being a very valuable stat for a Mistweaver, this trait can be a strong option if you manage to pick up the azerite piece it is on. Similar to
迷雾之峰
, you may end up with a proc when you do not need it and without one when you do.
Middle Ring
Best

grants a minor buff to Mastery for 10 seconds. Cannot occur more than once every 30 seconds. As a secondary trait, providing a frequent increase to our most valuable trait makes it an easy choice to take when the option presents itself. While you won’t necessarily spam
精华之泉
on cooldown to receive this proc, situations where you do find yourself using the ability will often find value having the mastery buff with it.

- Your healing spells have a chance to increase your Haste up to a significant amount for six seconds. Healing lower health targets provides a greater amount of Haste. This trait can prove extremely useful, especially in dicey situations where everyone is taking damage, as the Haste provided assists in the game of catch-up.

- Your healing spells have a chance to apply

for 20 seconds, which is consumed to heal the target when they fall below 50% Health. This trait offers a small fallback when party damage intake begins to ramp up. The healing of this effect is almost always guaranteed to be useful, as the heal cannot proc unless the friendly target falls below half of their HP.

- Provides a small buff to Mastery as well as Leech. A solid option as it is a small increase to your best secondary as well as adding some minor self-sustain.

- Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant you 25 stacks of

, providing you with Haste for each stack. Stacks are removed every one second or upon taking damage. You will often find yourself weaving in damage while healing in several instances during M+, giving ample opportunities to proc the Haste bonus provided by this trait which can come in handy throughout the course of a dungeon.

- Your damaging abilities have a chance to grant you bonus Crit, Mastery, Haste, or Versatility for 10 seconds. Similar to

, you will often get this proc while weaving in damage, however the secondary provided is both unpredictable and a rather minor amount. Still, bonus secondaries are always welcome.

, which will place a heal over time on the target that doubles every two seconds for 12 seconds. This trait can give a noticeable benefit if there is little overhealing, however you will find times when the heal goes to waste as nobody is taking damage.

- Gain an absorb shield for 30 seconds every 30 seconds. This trait acts in the same fashion as Prydaz, Xavaric’s Magnum Opus from Legion, allowing for guaranteed survivability against certain mechanics that would otherwise be fatal. If this trait is available, you should absolutely take it.

- Heals a flat amount whenever you take damage. Cannot occur more than once every 6 seconds. This trait is a good option if you do not have access to

Recommended Azerite Pieces
With the traits above in mind, here are some of the better Azerite pieces to look for in advance of the Battle for Dazar’Alor raid. While you may not be able to get a perfect setup, go for highest item level pieces available that have a few traits from the above list when deciding.
This list also keeps in mind the most realistic options considering item level 415 pieces. While a piece off of the world boss Ivus might have decent traits, it will eventually fall behind ilvl 415 gear.

Mastering Mistweaver in Dungeons
Cooldown Management
While not the same as the DPS role, it is important to know how you want to use your cooldowns and what kind of situations you can use them most efficiently. You aren’t necessarily going for the “get the most, efficient” uses out of your cooldowns like you might find for a DPS’s priority, but making sure you have the CDs when you need them.

for a certain pull or encounter, or have some previous experience knowing when they will want it so you can plan your use of this cooldown throughout a dungeon, although there may be some discretion to using it for panic moments.

- Sporting a 30 second cooldown, you will find yourself using this ability quite often, but it is important to understand how you are utilizing it. When used in tandem with the

talent, this ability packs a lot of value in its short cooldown. With the volatility that exists in dungeon content, you will often find yourself using both charges of your

in a medley of ways. If you need spot healing,

is your go-to. If you want to set up burst group healing for

One simple trick to learn about amplifying your single-target healing niche as a Mistweaver is utilizing the “double hits” present in this specialization’s kit. These double hits in question come from the combos of

, as the tooltip describes, will heal your primary target as well as any target that is affected by

. While it may seem obvious, this cleave heal will also apply to the primary target, such that if you cast

(should the situation call for it) and you have a healer that can make sure priority (friendly) targets are not dying.
Single-Target Healing Optimization
It is important to note that healing is not always going to be set in stone with what abilities you push and when. The healer role is one that comes with the awareness and ability to react to many different situations in several ways. With patience, time, and experience, you will come to learn how to handle these situations. That said, there are ways you should understand how to get the most value out of your spells.
Prep for massive single target healing: Make sure
复苏之雾
is present on the target (either right before damage is taken or right after, as to make sure the
复苏之雾
does not jump off of the target on the first tick), then start channeling
抚慰之雾
and prepare to either:

, if the target is not in immediate danger of dying to gain a

Group Healing Optimization
Mistweaver group healing does not have as many nuances as their single target capabilities, but it can still be quite strong. Your main tools for group healing fall in

. If there are 3+ party members in need of healing, you will generally want to use a fully channeled

, as it is the most mana efficient ability in this case. To set up large group burst healing, you will want to use both of your

Contributing Damage
With the passing of Legion, so too has the emphasis on healer damage in dungeons. It is still important, however, to help where you can, as there is not always healing to be done. Another important aspect of this contribution is to make sure you have applied

to all enemies, as this is one of the more important aspects of playing Mistweaver in M+.
Single Target Priority
Majority of your single target damage will come from

, so it is extremely important to use this ability on cooldown. You will get a chance at cooldown resets on this ability from

- The channeled mana potion of this expansion, this potion will restore about 25% of your mana if fully channeled, plus an additional 8% from passive mana regeneration. You should utilize this potion for long boss fights or for long, chained trash pulls. Be sure to communicate with your tank/group when you want to go for this channel so they can play accordingly, as it lasts 10 seconds and a lot can happen in that window.

- These potions allow you to move extremely fast for a short period of time and can be useful for death runs, Shroud of Concealment skips, or panic dealing with certain mechanics. It is a good idea to keep a stack of these on hand just in case.

- Potions offer a small burst to your throughput and will generally only be used before a pull during a healer, as you should keep your mana pot off CD mid-combat if you need it.

- Buffs all the trash in the dungeon, increasing their damage by 30% and health by 20%. While this affix does not have a direct impact on your performance, it is important to be prepared for massive tank damage on certain trash pulls. Coordinate with your tank when to utilize

, and keep a watchful eye on their health bar.

- Buffs all the bosses in the dungeon, increasing their damage by 15% and health by 40%. This affix can be brutal for certain encounters, such as

- Killing enemies will empower enemies within 30 yds that you are in combat with, buffing their damage and health by 20% per stack. As a healer, you do not have much control concerning this affix. You should help do priority target damage to avoid

- Killing enemies places a pool of

on the ground, which will heal enemies for 5% of their maximum HP and damage allies for 15% of their maximum HP. Multiple

is particularly useful for this affix, as you can knock enemies completely outside of

pools as well as keep them from running into newly formed ones. You can also use

to keep enemies from running into these pools. Try to avoid being near mobs when they die, as to not damage yourself severely.

- Additional enemies are spawned throughout the dungeon, also increasing the kill count needed to complete the dungeon. This affix is pretty straight forward; there is nothing special Mistweavers can really do here. You should prepare by knowing which additional mobs are present in each dungeon and how your group will want to path around these spawns.
易爆
- Enemies have a chance to spawn an
易爆
orb at a nearby location that will explode for 50% of you and your allies HP in damage. The
易爆
cast takes 6 seconds after spawning, so you must kill these orbs quickly. As a Mistweaver, your

s do a good job of killing these orbs off, so try to save it for these spawns during trash. You can also utilize line of sight to avoid taking damage from
易爆
, such as hiding behind walls or corners. Communicate with your group to avoid large pulls that may overwhelm you with

.
重伤
- When you or an ally falls below 90% HP, you will gain the
重伤
debuff. This debuff will tick for 2% of your max HP every 3 seconds per stack, stacking up to 5 times. A new stack is applied every other tick. This affix can be pretty rough for healers especially, as mana is a very finite resource. As a monk, you can quickly top people with high stacks of
重伤
, but it comes with a price.
重伤
can be easily managed during most trash packs as a monk and for a good handful of boss encounters. For certain bosses, such as the Heartsbane Triad and

where there is constant, group-wide damage,

quickly makes a race out of your mana bar. Be sure to get as much value as you can from double proccing your mastery off of

, and try to not let players reach max

to help your tank reset high stacks of

- Periodically gain a Quake debuff, which will deal 20% of your health in physical damage in an area around you and interrupt your spell casting. If you are using WeakAuras, it is highly recommended you get a WeakAura to track

timers and when you should stop casting, as getting interrupted can mean death for your entire party depending on the situation. A decent starting WeakAura for this purpose can be found

plumes to spawn near distant players during combat, causing a moderate amount of damage if not moved out of. This affix is rather easy to handle, as it is extremely simple to move out of

spawns. You also have options in

With a new season comes a new affix. Season 2 for Mythic+ in BfA introduces the

Stay on top of dispelling

stacks; try to avoid dispelling at low stacks, as they are not lethal at this point, and your dispel may be on cooldown if the tank begins to acquire stacks quickly. A good point to dispel this debuff is around the 15-20 mark. You can also utilize

to help the tank kite the

s. If you pull healing aggro, you can use Diffuse Magic to get rid of your stacks to keep

available for the tank.
Try to line of sight the

here, you should add these mobs to the pull if possible, otherwise you can quickly kill these mobs at the end of the boss fight.

will spawn Spirits of Gold that will attempt to consume these blood pools. These mobs should either be burned down very quickly or CC’d.

will generate energy throughout the fight. Upon reaching max energy, she will cat

throughout the fight, summoning spectral spiders that will deal one-shot level damage on higher keys if ran into. These spiders will occasionally become empowered, fixating on random players and slowly moving toward them. It is advised for the party to stay close to each other, as to bait the spiders into a location and making it easier to kite the boss around them throughout the room. If a spider is ran into, it will disappear and leave a Shadowy Remains on the ground, dealing significant damage every 2 seconds if stood in and massively reducing movement speed. This mechanic makes it even more important to not get hit by spiders, outside of dying to them.

The bird will periodically come back to the ground to use Dive Bomb, charging in a straight line, knocking back and dealing moderate damage to all players hit. The boss will cast

Heading to the second boss, there is a new combination of mobs that you will deal with. These mobs are comprised of Irontide Oarsmen,

You will also encounter some RP that changes from week to week which will disable a specific boss in the Council o’ Captains encounter and make them your ally, helping you throughout the fight.
If you notice friendly, highlighted Vulperas, each party member must speak to one (Note: They can speak to the same one) in order to successfully complete the event. This interaction will get you drunk, while also gaining

as an ally in the encounter.
If you notice a highlighted dog named

, players must walk up to the dog and chase him around until you can eventually interact with him for a key. Then, you must use this key to free Lokthos Darkbargainer and successfully complete the event. This interaction will get you

s, you must pull them, additionally pulling four more of the same mob, and successfully kill all of them to successfully complete the event. This interaction will get you

As you complete these events, several enemies affiliated with those Captains will become friendly to you. If you need these mobs to achieve trash count for the dungeon, you should wait to do the event until after you have killed these enemies.

Boss
The Council o’ Captains encounter changes every week, as a different boss will be your ally each week, leaving two for you to deal with. Each boss has their own mechanics, both as an enemy and as an ally. Rummy Mancomb will throw brew throughout the fight as well with the Eudora/Raoul combo and Jolly/Raoul combo, but not during the Eudora/Jolly combo. Two of these brews will provide a significant buff to either your Haste (Invigorating

Brew) or Critical Strike (Confidence-Boosting

Brew). The last brew will leave a hefty damage over time effect on you if you stand in it (Caustic

Brew). These brews can also affect the Captains, so it is advised to keep them out of the buff brews and drag them into the harmful brew.

The main goal here is to make sure party members are topped in between

can be line of sighted so you can teleport here during those casts. Alternatively you can have it set up in the middle of the room and port to it after the cone passes the area, as to stay in range of the rest of the party depending on where Eudora jumps.
You should make sure your party prioritizes killing Eudora first if she is an active enemy, as she is the deadliest of the three captains.

Generally, Jolly will be the next priority captain to kill after Eudora, as he deals a hefty amount of tank damage and forces a lot of tank movement.

As a Monk,

Heading to the Ring of Booty, you will encounter more of the same mobs that you saw in the second boss area. More Harpooners, Buccaneers, Knuckledusters, Knife Jugglers, Scrappers and Brinescales await you. There is one new mob that you will have to deal with: the

. This is a rather tanky trash mob, but the mechanics are easily dealt with. Crushers will

The Ring of Booty is split into 3 phases: A pig chase, a turtle, and an ogre.
Phase 1:
You must catch a pig named

, which will speedily run around the boss room.

will drop in a random spot in the arena before dashing off. He must be clicked 5 times before you can succeed in this phase.
Phase 2:
You will fight a turtle by the name of

. Ludwig will deal significant tank damage, while also casting

throughout the fight. The shells that Ludwig throws out will bounce against the walls and will deal heavy damage to any players hit while knocking them up. This knock up scales with key level, and if you end up getting hit, you can be knocked out of the arena which results in the crowd dealing some heavy damage to you and applying a debuff.
Phase 3:
The boss fight. After defeating Ludwig,

The Council of Tribes encounter is a three phase fight. The order in which you fight each boss changes each week. Each boss you fight has its own set of mechanics, and you will have to continue to deal with the mechanics of a boss you have already slain later in the fight.

Boss
This boss functions the same for both factions, only sporting different names for the boss and his adds. This fight is a one phase encounter with some additional add mechanics that mimic the trash. The boss will focus a ranged player with

, and these players must kite the boss into the bombs spawned by Cannon Barrage’s

. If the target fails to move the boss into one of these bombs, he will begin channeling

encounter is singular phase fight that takes place across 3 different platforms. You will not actually fight the boss himself, but kill his tentacles and shoot a cannon to damage him. Each platform has the same mechanics, and has the same goal: free the Kul Tiran Engineer to repair each cannon. There will be a single

holding this Engineer on each platform, however you must first deal with the

s. These tentacles have less health than the Grippings, but it is important to kill them fast as you will have to deal with up to 5 Demolishings per platform. These tentacles will deal massive group damage with

, causing you to fill a meter the more you move. When this meter is filled, you will be stunned for 8 seconds. This mechanic makes good positioning very important. The boss will constantly empower his abilities with either

, causing them to deal additional fire damage over time, or

, causing them to knock back. Korgus will periodically cast

, dealing a large amount of damage in cones around him. Make sure to position in between these cones, as this damage can be fatal. He will also cast

on 3 players at a time throughout the fight with a ranged preference, dealing a large amount of damage to anyone within 5 yds of these targets. The boss will also cast

at a target, dealing a moderate amount of damage and placing a debuff on the target that will increase the damage they take from this ability by 500%. This cast can be intercepted by other players. Finally, the big cannons surrounding the boss room will cast

in a cone in front of them, dealing lethal damage and knocking back targets struck.
Tank this boss in one of the corners of the room, with players dispersing themselves around the corners and crevices here to lighten the effects of the knockback from Blast Rounds.
Set up a

port if you are knocked into an undesirable location or are stuck in front of a cannon or

lane.
Be ready for a significant amount of healing on

targets, as the

debuff following this cast can be devastating. Communicate defensives with your group, and be wise with your

The boss will occasionally cast two sets of

debuff will not stack anymore. Being classified as a melee, you will sometimes avoid being targeted by this ability twice in a row. Use this to your advantage to keep other members of the group healthy for this set of Bursts, specifically ranged players.

For simplicity purposes, we will discuss the dungeon as approached from the top left. (Note: The trash does not change based on these routes, just the order you will face it).

Beginning the instance, you will encounter several

Boss
The Heartsbane Triad encounter is a multi-boss fight in which you will fight 1 active boss at a time. Each boss has two main abilities and a passive aura effect while active. They will be active while holding the
聚焦之虹
, also causing them to generate 2 energy every 1 sec. At max energy, they will cast

, inflicting lethal damage upon the party. Each boss will pass the
聚焦之虹
after reaching 50% HP. This mechanic makes having

for this encounter extremely important. When a boss is not in possession of the Iris, they will take 99% reduced damage.

The encounter begins with this boss. Solena will cast

throughout the fight, which is important to keep interrupted when she is holding the

as this will deal a large amount of damage to her target. She will also cast
灵魂操控
on a DPS player, mind controlling them until they have taken a certain amount of damage. Solena’s passive aura is

, which will reduce all healing done by 50%.
Make sure DPS players use immunities before the
灵魂操控
cast, as these will be used while MC’d and can be detrimental to your success.
Be smart with mana here, as the 50% healing reduction can tempt you to be rather wasteful. Try to only spot heal party members when absolutely necessary, and then quickly top the group when dealing with the next boss.
女巫马拉迪
After Solena, Malady will take the

. This boss will cast

throughout the fight and must be interrupted when holding the Iris, similar to

. She will also cast

on each party member, dealing damage over time as well as a burst of damage to nearby allies at the end of its duration. She will also apply the

is particularly strong in this phase of the fight. Make sure to save it in the second round of the

passing in case a cast of

, advise them to do so, to alleviate damage taken in this phase a little.
There is a large amount of healing to be done in this phase; save tools such as

During this encounter, the inactive bosses will continue to cast their bolt abilities at random players for moderate damage; try to use extra interrupts on these casts when possible.

is a pretty simple mini boss to deal with, but is pretty tanky. She will cast

at the tank, dealing a moderate amount of damage to them.

will also spawn underneath player locations, dealing minor damage and knocking them up if they are caught in it.

encounter is a 1 phase fight with a few different mechanics. You will generally use your 2nd

as the fight progresses, increasing his damage by 5% every 2 seconds. These stacks will be dropped when the boss runs into a Wildfire, causing the boss to begin dealing significant damage to the party with

The Lord and Lady Waycrest encounter is 2 phase encounter consisting of 2 bosses. Many groups opt to use a

casts, which will interrupt the leap and cancel the damage.

s if needed.
Boss
The

encounter is a single phase fight that requires good add management. The boss will Summon

s throughout the fight, which will attempt to stun players with

and deal significant damage to them. These mobs will also cast
黑暗之跃
at the furthest target. After being slain, they must have

thrown at their bodies, else they will be resurrected by

. Any low health Slavers will also be healed to full from this cast.

can be interrupted by knockbacks and some specific CC abilities, so be sure to rotate these well.

must also be interrupted throughout the fight, as successful casts of this can ruin this boss fight.

can be used to stop casts of

, so be sure to communicate with your party when you want to use these.
The damage on this fight can start to become deadly with too many

s active, as the damage from
黑暗之跃
will begin to accumulate. Be sure to stay lightly spread so this leap does not cleave multiple party members.
Use

壮胆酒
throughout this fight to alleviate some of the damage, as this encounter can begin to take its toll on your mana bar, and the damage output can become quite high with poor add management.

A great article but might I add that for the Alliance, Kul Tirans would also be a good race since Brush it Off provides extra survivability similar to Taurens in a 1% boost to Versatility plus a small heal and Haymaker provides a knock back and stun on a 2.5 minute cooldown.
