Chronicles of the Second War - Dwarven Clans Trailer & Asset Pack
Last September, we highlighted
Chronicles of the Second War
, an ambitious fan remastered Warcraft II campaign for Warcraft III: Reforged. Intent on remaking the original campaigns and adding new content based on Warcraft III hero design and World of Warcraft lore, the team has just released their Dwarven Clans pack - a modding resource including assets for the three dwarven clans featured in Chronicles of the Second War.
This asset pack is an early look at some of the content which will eventually appear in Chronicles, allowing other Warcraft III: Reforged modders to add the Bronzebeard, Wildhammer, and Dark Iron Dwarf clans to their campaigns and custom games. The pack includes includes custom modeled buildings, doodads, and unique units for each of the three clans, as well as a fully functional dwarven tech-tree. Of course, that's not all they've been working on, with the
Dwarven Clans trailer
also featuring a ton of new Orcish models, including Varok Saurfang engaging in a fully voice acted conversation with Orgrim Doomhammer.

Although it will still be quite some time before the
is completed, the dwarves play a crucial role in the unseen stories of the Second War, and it's really exciting to see the work which has gone into the project so far. The
extensive list of features
is incredibly ambitious, but there are a ton of extra stories available to be told within the setting, and the LoreCraft Designs and Hive Workshop modding teams appear to be pulling out all the stops along the way.
The Bronzebeard Clan
The Bronzebeard clan appears to feature heavily armored warriors, some kind of priest or mage, and the iconic Warcraft III riflemen, but also include cannon and a first look at the mountain fortress of Ironforge.
The Wildhammer Clan
The Wildhammer clan eschews their cousins focus on industry, preferring more natural druidic and shaman powers. Their units include dual wielding berserkers and shapeshifting druids, as well as the Gryphon Riders of Aerie Peak.
The Dark Iron Clan
The Dark Iron dwarves are a dark mirror of their above ground neighbors, with legions of armored warriors, riflemen, sorcerers, and golem constructs under the command of Ragnaros the Firelord.
The Orcish Horde
Orcs aren't left out, with some new locations and models seen in the trailer, including the hero Varok Saurfang himself! Several new Orcish heroes are also planned for the Chronicles campaign, including Rend and Maim Blackhand, Zuluhed the Whacked, Orgrim Doomhammer, and Nekros Skullcrusher.
