Diablo IV Collector's Edition Amalgam of Rage Mount Spotted
The Collector's Edition mount for Diablo IV called Amalgam of Rage might have been spotted! After some clever research by Reddit user
, we now have a good idea of what the cross-promotion mount could look like in World of Warcraft.
Back in April, the achievement for owning Diablo IV's Collector's Edition in World of Warcraft was found in the Patch 9.2.5 PTR game files:
Datamined details from World of Warcraft's Patch 9.2.5 PTR Build.
This hinted at the reward players would get in World of Warcraft when owning the Diablo IV Collector's Edition. Funnily enough, the detail that gave away the potential look of the mount has been there all along: You can find an interestingly named file called "amalgam_head_closeup.png" in
Blizzard's press kit of the June 2021 Quarterly Update
- and this is what it looks like:

June 2021 Quarterly Update itself
, Blizzard showcased the art of Diablo IV and discussed topics like character and monster art. And guess what? The blog post features
of a particular monster that looks very familiar - the Amalgam of Rage!
What is even more telling is that two of the Amalgam's heads have chains attached which could function as some sort of reins for the player's character:

We will have to wait until the actual announcement of Diablo IV's Collector's Edition to see if the WoW mount will look like its counterpart in Blizzard's upcoming ARPG sequel - however, the fact that D4 will feature riding and dismount abilities makes it easy to assume that we will see the Amalgam of Rage mount both in Diablo IV and World of Warcraft.
