Mythic Antorus Bosses Are Easier to Solo in Patch 9.1.5: Aggramar, Imonar, Coven of Shivarra Changes
One of the exciting upcoming changes in Patch 9.1.5 are the addition of Legacy Loot rules to Legion dungeons and raids, as well as changes to Legion raids to make them easier to solo.
The latest PTR build started adding those changes, and we did a run of the last raid of Legion -
- To check for changes on the harder to solo bosses!
Aggramar - Knockback Severely Nerfed
The main change noticed was with
- One of the bosses you need to defeat in order to reach
(a popular farm boss due to the coveted
mount), was previously considered extremely hard to solo due to the potent knockback of
(which is supposed to be reduced as more players get hit by it) - Requiring players to either deal enough DPS to completely bypass the minimum of 3
he casts during the fight or use strategies like dealing damage only with Hunter pets to avoid the knockbacks entirely.
This has been fixed on the 9.1.5 PTR - Aggramar's knockback is now much less powerful, only knocking you back around 15 yards! Be mindful that this does not make Aggramar an easy win, as his stacking Fire damage can still wreck unprepared players. It is still very much a DPS race, but a much more reasonable one.
Imonar the Soulhunter - No Sleep Canister When Solo with Pets
A rather minor change that will happen pet classes with
- He will no longer cast
when you have a pet out. This change does not affect classes or specializations that have no pets, as these already do not get affected by Sleep Canister when solo.
Coven of Shivarra - 99% Damage Reduction Shield Disabled
Coven of Shivarra was considered very difficult to solo due to
reducing their damage taken by 99% when two of them were close together, but this ability is no longer enabled when solo, making this an easy solo boss!
Other Antorus Bosses
Other Antorus bosses that are notoriously difficult to solo have been checked, but have not been nerfed as much (or in some cases, not nerfed at all):
's difficulty comes from the stacking of
, which became permanent by the final phase of the fight. Soulrending Scythe still stacks infinitely, but at a slightly reduced rate.
Hounds of Sargeras seemed largely unchanged, with most of its mechanics staying the same.
is, unfortunately, also largely unchanged, meaning it is still extremely difficult to solo (if not outright impossible for classes without a lot of movement speed increases).
