Polearms: Survival Hunter Transmog Spotlight
Starting in 7.0, the Legion pre-patch gives us access to new abilities and upcoming talent changes. For Survival Hunters, this means going melee! Survival hunters will be equipping Polearms so we will be highlighting some cool polearm models you may want to collect to have ready for transmogging when 7.0 hits! If you see a model you like, make sure to check the "Same Model As" tab to see if it comes in other colors!
Basic polearm models tend to look either like a plain spear or a rustic old piece of sheet metal strapped to some wood. These can definitely fit with basic transmog sets but here, we'll highlight some of the more elaborate models.
If you are looking to equip a polearm as a survival hunter who has been thrust into melee by 7.0 (rather than just looking for one for transmog!), you'll want either

This was a common model during the Mists of Pandaria expansion, but don't let it's ubiquity deter you - the model is gorgeous and comes

, many of which are easily obtainable through questing or on the AH.
A very Burning-Crusade-esque polearm, the Plasma Rat's Hyper Scythe comes from a similarly modern looking instance,
The Sonic Spear was a popular pre-raid hunter item in Burning Crusade when hunters wore both a ranged weapon and a melee weapon, often seen about town in Shattrath.
This is one of many lore-important polearms, and also has a super cool, arakkoa-themed appearance.
This polearm is slightly more difficult to obtain since it is a random Northrend drop, but has an absolutely beautiful and unique model - sliced up ribbons wrapped around its blade.
Of all the scythe-type polearms, this model is the most ornate and comes in 3 different color variations - this particular one is a reliable drop from a rare in Spires of Arak and the others are crafted by Blacksmiths.
These are the quintessential Classic WoW trident-style polearms and lend a little nostalgia to the fact that some hunters will be able to equip polearms once more.
This polearm has a clean look but lots of small details and was a popular item out of the Sunwell raid. The PvP version is a more subdued color variant.
This is one of the most popular polearm models in WoW due to its unique colour, model, and attention to detail. This looks great with many darker hunter tier sets!
Bo-Ris is one of the more rare polearm transmogs since it is a random boss drop from
. A simple sillohouette but with lots of detail, it also has
different color variations
Shan-Dun will get its time to shine with hunters now, since it was mostly for druids when Mists was out. A beautifully ornate polearm, it has 3 color variations.
