probably a little easter egg from the Wrestler known as the rock and his quote "do you smell what the rock is cookin!!!"
He is in the northeastern part of lower city. One of the daily quests he gives have a item that cooks the food it requires 275 cooking (at least on the ptr)
Could someone please give us some idea of what the daily quest involves?
He's located at 61,15 in Lower City, North from the Terrace of Light. He gives out daily cooking quests.
, is one of the items he has you make
He gives you a daily quest to use his Cooking Pot to cook up some random item for him, usually made of pre-cooked food items and drops from monsters. They vary from day to day and the Cooking Pots are all different as they simply combine the items into the one for completing the daily quest. Cooking skill required may be as low as 325 (the level necessary to cook some of the foods). You will need to be level 70, however, since the vast majority of the places you are sent to require flight in order to reach (Skettis, Blade's Edge Plateau).
Super Hot Stew
: Takes 2
. The mats from both items can be farmed from the Lightning Serpents and Raptors all over Blade's Edge Mountains. The
can be found in western Blade's Edge Mountains south of the Ogri'la camp.
Revenge is Tasty
: Takes 3
Giant Kaliri Wing
. The Wing and the mats for the Burger can both be obtained in Skettis, though the Warp Burger mats can be farmed elsewhere in Terokkar Forest.
Soup for the Soul
: Takes 4
, which can be farmed from the assorted Clefthoof all over Nagrand. The Ancestral Grounds can be found in western Nagrand at the same location as
: This quest only requires 15
that you head to the Eco-domes in Netherstorm (either Far-field or Mid-realm, the Stormspire has no mana berries) and collect fifteen of these.
Basically, the quests focus around a given zone and require both food and quest items/locations from that zone to be completed.
Is there a minimum cooking level to do the daily cooking quests? I can't even talk to him.
Completing these quests presents you with an option to choose a Barrel of Fish or Crate of Meat.
These items can contain new cooking recipes. These recipes are BoP
New known spells include:
Spicy Hot Talbuk
Delicious chocolate Cake
The Bloodfin Catfish, Lightening Eel, and Cresent-Tailed Skullfish can all be fished from the waters near Karazhan
I got another quest today where I hat to collect mana berries from bushes in eco-domes in Netherstorm. Very easy quest, I suggest going to Eco-Dome Farfield.
Been doing this with my 70 toon for 3 days, but it's gray ! for my 69 toon. Both toons 375 cooking.
So he offers all of these quests but they are a random daily not a daily for each one? I'm having trouble with quests at the moment so I thought this was another one. He wouldn't speak to me after completing Revenge is Tasty. And along with all of the potentially great loot offered in the crate and barrel, expect garbage like gray fishbones. I'm bummed.
Not sure about the other fish but you can find Lightning Eel in Winterspring. I haven't been there in a long while so my info may be dated but that's the only place I could get them pre-BC.
Is there a pre-req for this quest I can't even talk to him =[
Odd... my cooking is 375 and I still can't talk to him. I'm only lvl 63 though, so maybe that's the problem.
Has anyone thought to point out to his little helper goblin that you CAN infact make water boil faster? Every time I'm there she's complaining that she cant...
I'm pretty sure salt exists in the wow universe, maybe we could give her some...
Decided to make a list of what the food crate of meat and barrel of fish does for you.
Barrel of Fish food:
20 Agility and spirit (Figluster's Mudfish)
44 Healing and 20 spirit (Golden Darter)
30 Stamina and 20 spirit (Huge Spotted Feltail)
30 Stamina and 20 spirit (Furious Crawdad)
20 Stamina and 8 Mana per 5 sec (Zangarian Sporefish)
20 Stamina and spirit (Spotted Feltail)
4320/7500 Health over 30 seconds (Barbed Gill Trout)
7500 Health and 7200 Mana over 30 seconds (Enormous Barbed Gill Trout)
Crate of Meat food:
20 Stamina and spirit (Raptor Ribs)
20 Stamina and spirit or 20 pet strength and spirit (Buzzard Meat)
20 Strength and spirit or Occasional Zapping (Clefthoof Meat)
23 Spell Damage and 20 spirit (Chunk o' Basilisk)
23 Spell Damage and 20 spirit (Serpent Flesh)
20 Stamina and spirit or 20 Hit rating and spirit (Talbuk Venison)
20 Agility and spirit (Warped Flesh)
Is this like the BG daily where it is random?
i have cooking 281 but i can not speak whit him i am lvl 65. How is the possible?
I just wanted to add that I smell what The Rokk is cookin'.
All the daily cooking quests can be completed while in a raid.
I have just picked up a cooking daily at cooking lvl 356, so its not as high as 375 requirment.
CAN YOU SMELL
WHAT THE ROKK
I have three toons collecting recipes from this guy. So far, I have found:
two "blue" recipes
- Delicious Chocolate Cake (which makes your character 'Very Happy' for one hour, whatever that means),
four "green" recipes
- Kibler's Bits
- Broiled Bloodfin
- Skullfish Soup
- Spicy Hot Talbuk
I would be interested to see if anyone has found any others.
Must have a cooking skill of 275 to do the quests, don't know a minimum level because both of my cooks are level 70, but I would assume 70 since you need a flyer to get to the locations by yourself for a couple of the quests.
After a few days I've done quests requiring the following
Revenge is Tasty -
3 warp burgers and 1 Giant Kaliri Wing -
cooked at any cooking fire (Terrokar Forest)
Super Hot Stew -
1 crunchy serpent and 2 Mok'Nathal Shortribs -
cooked over an Abyssal Flamebringer's corpse (Blades Edge)
8 or 15 mana-berries (Netherstorm) - cant remember how many it was - and anyone can gather them.
4 clefthoof meat - cooked over the bonfire at the Ancestral Grounds (Nagrand)
The above stated coords for Anecestral Grounds in Nagrand for "Soup for the Soul" are wrong, correct coords are: 25,60. Big Brazier.
I've done this quest like 6 times. i got all of the 4 greens and the blue stormchops, 1 time i didnt get a recipe. no repeats on recipe so far. keep the meats for later quests, i pick barrel and crate like randomly. want to get cake recipe
The "Revenge is Tasty" quest is whats given 3/4 of the days on my server. This sucks, since the kaliri wings have a terrible drop rate, they're hard to find when theres more than one or two killing them, and it's the same quest for everyone on a given day. I suppose there is the bonus that you don't get mobbed by the kaliri when you're doing the bombing quest though. Is everyone else's server doing the kaliri quest the majority of the time?
One other thing. If you don't care about getting the lobster or golden darters and you already have the fish recipes or don't want them, you're better off taking the crates of meat because you can use what they drop for the later cooking quests.
Just did one of these Quests for the first time, was offered "Soup for the Soul". I chose the crate of meat and got the Stormchops recipe! Also got some other meat and a skinning knife hihi :D
I'm not sure why, but i hadnt ever done these quests until now. I must say i am very pleased! the recipe rewards are a must if you are a top-end raider. That 20 hit raiting is very tasty for my fury warrior!
it's 8g and a 66%ish chance for a new cooking recipe for a 5 minute quest... why the hell wouldnt you do it when youre bored?
I've never used the bonfire in the ancestral grounds I just built my own. It still cooks just fine.
Has anyone received the Savory Deviate Delight recipe from the daily cooking quest? I heard a rumor that someone had, but have done this quest at least 30 times and haven't gotten it yet.
The reward table on this daily is a little weak. After seeing the rewards from the fishing daily, i think they need to upgrade the loot and rewards from this daily. My idea...a little pet, maybe a fire elemental that you can use for cooking fire, so you can cook anyplace/anytime, just summon your little cooking reward pet, and cook on his head! Brilliant! Damn Blizz should hire me to do the thinking around there.
I must have lucked out, my first quest I
got the storm chops. I choose the barrel
I wanted the kibler bits tho, lol.
My cooking is 375, I'm level 67, yet!
The Rokk is still greyed out and no quests from him, do you have to be a certain level?
How come he doesnt give me quest's on some days? level 70 with 375 cooking
On first day of patch i recieved the recipe for Skullfish Soup out of the barrel of fish. Second day, nothing in box of meat. Today it was the recipe for Kibler's Bits in a box of meat. I hope more people will post here so we can all know what recipes are still out there.
This is the cooking daily quest giver found in Shattrath at 61,15. I have done the daily quests about 15 times so far and the the quests I have received from him are:
Quest: Super Hot Stew
Quest: Soup for the Soul
I have been doing the daily quests all week and there are only 2 quests I have seen, neither "require" a flying mount to complete. I happen to be level 70 so I cant tell you what level you start to get the quests at.
Also, for the record, today I choose the box of meat as a reward and got 2 different kinds of meat and a level 2 pair of cloth gloves *sigh* no recipe.

Yesterday (11/17) I received Recipe: Spicy Hot Talbuk from a box of meat, today I got no recipe at all from the box of meat.
Recived from his quest
I've also received:
The recipes you can get are:
Recipe: Broiled Bloodfin
Recipe: Delicious Chocolate Cake
Recipe: Kibler's Bits
Recipe: Skullfish Soup
Recipe: Spicy Hot Talbuk
What level do you have to be to do these daily quests?
So far The Rokk has given out the following cooking recipes:
20 STA 20 SPI / 30 min
Pet food: 20 STR and SPI / 30 min
20 Spell Crit Strike Rating 20 SPI / 30 min
Spicy Hot Talbuk
20 Hit Rating 20 SPI / 30 min
Charges you with energy, causing lightning to occasionally zap nearby enemies for the next 30 minutes.
Delicious Chocolate Cake
Does nothing so far but a "very happy" buff for 60 min

11/20/07 go no recipe from the box of meat today :( So far its been that every other day I get a recipe, every other day nothing. By the way, I got the Spicy Hot Talbuk recipe and sold my first stack of cooked Spicy Hot Talbuk for 25 gold on my server (Arygos).
Did the daily cooking quest 11/19/07 and received Recipe: Kibler's Bits from the barrel of fish.
I received Stormchops recipe today from Revenge is Tasty quest in fish barrel.
I'm level 63 with 350 cooking and rokk won't speak with me. :(
I believe you have to be level 70 to attain the quests because at least one of the quests on live (plus another I saw on PTR) require a flying mount to get to some of the items you need to gather or a location you have to cook at.
Do you smell what the Rokk is cookin?
Obvious referrence to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson from his WWE days. One question though. A goblin? If The Rock played WoW do you think he'd want to lay the smackdown as a goblin? Didn't think so. They should have created a new race just for the Rokk. The Brahma Bull.
