As the quest says, you can find the Ata'mal Armaments off of the Shadowmoon Valley orcs in Ata'mal Terrace all around 70,40.

After you are finished gathering 5, go to the anvil located at 50,40 on Isle of Quel'Danas (next to the quest giver) and use the item.

Upon completed construction of the forge and anvil (during phase 3), this quest becomes available and is a permanent daily quest that can be completed for reputation and reward, and will always be available once it is unlocked. Also, it is at this point that Smith Hauthaa will start selling her coveted Badge of Justice rewards.

The drop rate is high - around 50% for me.Just kill orcs at Ata'mal Terrace (70.36) in Shadowmoon Valley.Easy 18g and reward is good too :)

Can this item go on a weapon that is already enhanced (WF, Rockbiter and so on)?

Odd bug, I have 5 of the Armaments, but cleansing doesn't work. I'm at the smith and I get the cast animation to cleanse, but the item stays as they are. Guy next to me is able to do it np, I'm not in a raid or anything. Pff. :/

The drop rate is just absolutely horrible. I'm only getting one armament every 20 kills.

Definitly not doing this daily anymore.

Very easy as a tankadin, just gather a group of melee mobs and you'll be done in no time.

Beware the big Shadowsworn Drakonid patrolling the area, they're doable 1 on 1, but you don't want them joining a fight already going on.
They have quite large patrol routes so you'll have about 2minutes before it goes from one end to the other and back.

Also, as protection paladin, I find I can go to SMV (66.6,38.4) , wait for the big drakonid to move up towards the stairs, then mount up, run south down the ramp from there (towards the naaru below), pulling 9 Shadowmoon Slayer .
Put up Blessing of Sanctuary and keep Holy Shield and Consecration up and you'll have them all down in about 30seconds, and get all your 5 armaments in just 1 fight.

I only just turned 70 in mostly green/blue gear (half Crusader's Ornamented Battlegear set, easy to get early) to pull this off without much risk.

The word 'Ata'mal' may seem familiar; I been wondering why. Back on Azuremyst Isle one of the last quests in the 1-5 starting area:

Image of Technician Dyvuun says: By the seven Ata'mal crystals! Others have survived the crash! Zhanaa, is that you? It is so good to see you again!

Ata'mal crystals must be valuable to the draenei or sacred.

Coords are correct.

One way to avoid the elite is to pull them onto the lede that drops down to the next level, the orcs dont run away and have no attacks that can push you back, you are therefore able to pull right back to the ledge and you can avoid it even when fighting, this will also avoid the roaming eye.

This is just getting insane imho, 18g for a 5 min quest. With this kind of quests that epic flyer seems almost free. Imagine the amounts of gold you'll need in WOTLK.

My drop rate was about 1 in 6 from the same location. Previous posters were a lot luckier.

I have just done this quest for the first time and I am a little amazed at the posts below.

This is not an easy quest unless you have 1) PvP Gear and/or 2) at least 1 other helper.

This is because the terrace of the Black Temple at the co-ords given below are absolutely crawling with mobs.
They are in pairs, close together and have Level 70 elites patrolling regularly plus the "eye" which I assume
alerts the patrol to your presence but I have not hung about long enough to test this.

The best tactic I can come up with is to land in a corner just below the main terrace at 67,35. There is a lone
summoner orc here and is easily killed. Now you have a base from which to advance without getting set upon by multiple mobs. (You can recognize this place by the glowing purple glyph upon which the summoner stands). If you look parrallel to the terrace you will see the "road" which comes down from the terrace and turns left. Here there are spiked barriers and pairs of Orcs defending them. One of the elites patrols up and down this "road" so be careful. However,
you will be able to see some (of the few) lone Orcs posted on the corner. Kill them and the going up the road slightly, you can see on your left a little area where a "Smith" works in a little hut. If you grind here you should not get too much interference from the patrols.

To summarise, you must be very careful if alone and with average kit. As a hunter I can Feign Death if the patrol gets me but other classes may find it difficult to escape. This is not a five minute daily until you have the above type of tactic down to a fine art! Good Luck!

Cord 68, 41. Shadowmoon slayers have the best drop for me (about every 3ed droped 'Ata'mal armament')

First you must go to Shadowmoon Valley and collect 5 Ata'mal Armaments. Location is near the black temple at about 70,34. I had the best drop rate with the chosen and darkweavers. I killed one darkweaver and got 1 armament. I killed 4 chosen and got 2 armaments. I killed about 10 slayer's and got 2 armaments.

This is an easy quest as long as you watch out for the level 70 elite Drakonid's. The Drakonid's are fearable. I was able to chain fear one and put on my dot's and kill him pretty easily.

To finish the quest, you take the armemants back near Smith Hauthaa at the forge and right click them to make them cleansed Ata'mal Metals. The anvil is at 50, 40 in the Isle of Quel'Danas.

as a 2h arms warrior this was easy. no need for pvp gear or help. i got all mine before i even made it half way up the ramp. idk why ppl are flyin past the ramp and onto the top. jsut go up the left ramp, pull one or 2 at a time, and its cake. got my 5 in bout 7 kills. dont see the problem here.

Shadowmoon Valley 71.25 , 41.28 is the best place to pull orcs, standing on the ledge in front of the rack where they are lined up like toy soldiers. The elite passes by without any care of you killin' his mates. Just FIRE the green orb as soon as you see it, otherwise it will activate the elite. A single moonfire shot is enough to blow it up.
