Omen of Clarity is a wonderful talent to have when grinding or soloing.
You put Omen of Clarity on, go into your perfered animal form, attack until OoC procs, then pop out a heal, then pop back into animal form. Free heal! Constant grinding!

I haven't used Omen of Clarity in a long time as I've been being more of a caster staying away from melee range, but what is the % chance of getting clearcast? Is it the same as 5/5 points in mages clearcasting perhaps?

when this procs in boomkin, will it still trigger the 5 sec rule when i cast a spell?

Recently I ran Hellfire Ramparts with a druid as the main (and only) healer. He constantly meleed to get his OoC to proc. Pretty weird sight at first, but since there's virtually no AoE in there, it worked great.
The only problem with this approach is that you need to keep your weapon skill up, which might be a bit of a problem, considering you probably won't be using it while soloing.
Still, definitely worth the effort as long as there's no AoE involved.

While this is in the Restoration tree, it is most useful by far for feral druids. Note that the clearcasting works on your abilities which use energy and rage as well. The best use of the proc is not to return to caster form to heal, but to use one of your more costly feral abilities. This effectively increases your cat form and bear form DPS by allowing you to use your abilities more often.

Well, to be honest, Shred has become nearly inefficient compared to Mangle, unless you're in a group or other situation where you actually CAN Shred after landing a Mangle.
Either way, I just wanted this confirmed...is this move over once the proc happens, or...?
Because choosing between this and Insect Swarm seems to be like choosing between PvE/Tank and PvP/DPS

Omen of Clarity Statistics:
Cat form - 5-10%~ish.
Bear Form - 10-15%~ish
Humanoid - 10-15%~ish
Hidden cooldown of 6 seconds. I never was able to get 2 proc off right away, only under 6 second timer, 2 was able to proc off.
These seem pretty fair. And about what they seem to be.

An interesting thing to note about this talent... if it procs and you use it for Ferocious Bite, it still converts your remaining energy to damage. For example, if it procs and you use Ferocious Bite at 20 Energy, it will still clear your energy bar, but you do not need the 35 minimum energy to use the ability.

Possibly the best time for it to proc...right when/after pouncing...one mangle+two shreds right there, deadly on clothies.

This is an amazing feral talent so I'm not sure what's it doing in the restoration tree. But still, Naturalist is a "must have" for feral druids, so there's no problem in getting this one too.
Edit: This comment was made when Clearcasting would only proc on melee attacks. Now it's good for any type of Druid.

I'm a lvl 29 doing a lot of pvp. my frustration is relying on stomp and charge to stun so i can heal. i just re-spec'd to pick up this talent (losing charge in the process) thinking i'd get a big instant heal, but didnt see anything happen. reading the forum notes, do i have to be in melee for 30 secs before i get this clearstate? how does it show itself/how do i trigger it. if melee is over after 10 secs does it carry across to next melee? i guess i'll work it out over time but any feedback most welcome

Useful as a dispel buffer for your hots and buffs in PVP. 1 point for a dispel buffer makes it worthwhile even if you're resto and never melee.

This is currently becoming a passive buff in WotLK, great news for all Druids everywhere.
Edit: This will also work on healing and damage spells. Woot!

If your think about soloing a bit, or just want to farming/grinding with your druid, this is a near must-have. If you are only slightly lucky, you will have nearly no down-time at all when battling mobs of slightly lower level in 1vs1.
Throw in an Innervate every 6 mins if you are Restoration specced, and you are almost guaranteed to go on and on until your equipment needs rapair.
=)

I've put this spell with by 'buff'' ones but...it looks like there's a timer on it. When I wanna cast it when the 5 minutes ran out, it says something like ''this on a cooldown''. Am i the only one who has that? If not, whats the cooldown of that spell?

Omen of Clarity seems to be regarded as a must have by a lot of druids, but... if you're a moonkin/caster druid who barely ever makes a melee attack, it and the 5 talent points that are a prerequisite for it are useless. Even when I am soloing, and might have to fend myself off with an occasional weapon or feral attack, it just doesn't add up to enough procs to be worth sacrificing 6 precious talent points (and no, not even the melee attack talent).
Of course, pure caster druids are a rare minority, and I'm sure many, many druids disagree with this use of the class. But... if you're a caster druid anyway, like me, you'll avoid this.

Once you throw up OOC, all your melee hits has a chance to proc a "clearcasting state." When it procs, you will get a "clearcast" buff that lasts 15 sec for you to use practically any spell for free mana/energy/rage.
If you shift during the proc you do not lose clearcasting. That basically means you can proc "clearcasting" in cat and still come out into caster for a free Regrowth, before returning to catform.
Once you use the clearcasting, you still retain OOC, so you just keep on hitting your opponent hoping for it to proc again.
Every hit has the same chance of proccing it, so the faster attack speed you have means you'll see more procs.
Typically I'd only recommend this skill if you farm any mob regularly. In PvE it's not too bad of a skill to get free shreds, but I find it tedious to have to put it up every 5 min. I wouldn't really recommend the talent much for PvP.
I recommend using it on your most expensive moves (obviously) for the situation. It takes forever to proc in bear form , and caster form procs aren't that much better. You get the most benefit out of this talent if you find yourself in cat form most of the time, as it benefits the most from it IMO. I regularly farm a few BRD bosses, and the proc does wonders with free Regrowths. Goes a long way to conserving mana.
In cat form i could probably get 1-2 procs every minute. In BRD I use each proc for a free regrowth. With each regrowth costing over 800 mana, and boss fights that are 4-5 minutes, that's easily over 2400 mana conserved minimum.

I have suspected for quite some time that the reason nobody knows the proc rate is because it varies depending on what form you are in/what weapon you are using. I finally got round to doing an experiment, and while the sample size isn't large enough to give the exact proc rate, it proves it varies depending on your attack speed.
Experiment 1: Normal caster form using a dagger 1.60 speed.
Results: Proc'd 27 times out of 500 hits = 5.4% proc rate.
Experiment 2: Normal caster form using a staff 3.70 speed.
Results: Proc'd 36 times out of 300 hits = 12% proc rate.
So there you have it, it's proportional.

I dunno if it's been mentioned before but using a free spell from clearcasting doesn't reset the 5-second mana regen timer, so it is in fact completely free.

As of the 2.0.1 patch this Skill is listed under the Restoration talent tree (where it actually belonged if u ask me) and the duration is 30min, as an healer this is an very improvement in the talent altough the skill Insect Swarm will be missed, but The Omen of Clarity skill is improved and ofc better than Insect Swarm in instances as an healer I say Good Job blizz:P

This spell is AMAZING! IT procs atleast twice in a combat for me.. Works great.
Pounce > Mangle (Clearstate) > Shred > Rake > Rip
Also for pvp imho.. Saved my butt serveral times to have a free Maim, FB, maul or shred..
I would give it 9/10 points..
Only downside is that it isn't a passive spell.
It is.
a)Low mana cost (to cast the buff)
b)A life saver
c) Proccing alot
d) Amazing in many other ways
Yes People this is worth 11 points in the restoration tree for any Feral / Restor dr00d..

Lobar off of Emerald Dream, resto druid as well. And while I agree with you, lifebloom and rejuv are great moves and don't interrupt the fight in the least, about that resto druid + OOC.....
I don't know if this qualifies for any other resto druids on other servers, but from examining others' and my own actions, this move is VERY helpful. Since we save our mana for heals, we normally take cat form into full effect, so I clearcast a lot, in fact, I've clearcasted more than arcane mages quite a few times; not a lot, but a few. OOC is perfect for resto druids, since once we get this thing proc'd we automatically shirt to caster form and throw a couple heals around. OOC + resto druid = awesomeness

68 Balance Druid:
This is a great ability for a Balance Druid IMO. Here's why.
There is a reason they gave Moonkin form a 400% armor from items bonus. Although you are not a tank, you are certainly MUCH more capable of melee than caster form, somewhere between leather and mail armor I would guess. If you never melee this is wasted.
A Balance Druid who fights in Moonkin form will get frequent bonus mana from Touch of Elune. Since mana is much more valuable than health (up to a point!) it just makes sense to trade some health for mana. This also keeps your defense and weapons skills maxed.
My typical solo fight against a melee mob goes like this:
Open with Starfire and if the mob is stunned, repeat.
Follow immediately with Moonfire.
Entangling Roots. Mob stops outside melee range normally.
Insect Swarm and repeat as necessary to keep up constantly.
When the mob is below 30% health I step up and start melee.
3 ranks of Brambles means they are taking 46 damage every time they hit me. I will normally get 4 or more procs of 80 mana from Elune during this short fight at the end. Since I have loaded up on spirit gear, that normally tops me off in mana.
My health at this point can be 1/2 or even lower. So what? I can refill 90% of my health with 10% of my mana after the fight, or use a bandage which I alway seem to have tons more than I need. Druids have many ways to replenish health, but only drink or potion for mana. Innervate is great but is only available every 4th fight or so.
If the fight gets ugly, re-root if necessary, step back and heal, or just Barkskin and heal.
Omen of Clarity gives you a free dose of whatever you need during the melee portion of the show. If health is fine I drop an extra Moonfire which is the most expensive dot/dd. If I need health I heal.
Playing a Balance Druid to me is all about efficiency and PATIENCE.
Your Roots + Moonfire + Swarm will drop a mob pretty fast with NO damage to you from melee, but at a cost to mana. Jump in at the end, add to the damage and get some of that mana back + a few free casts.
Casters are another story of course. I try to alternate meelee/caster fights so I can get back mana from the melee fight that I lose when I burn down a caster. That's when Innervate works wonders if it's up. Oh and don't forget the Treants! If there is little chance you will need them for an add, turn em loose!
Using this strategy for solo I have almost as little down-time as a Warlock.

i really don't see why this talent is in the resto tree, i have been feral all the way up to 70 and this buff is awsome for extra dps but i just dont see how this would benefit a resto druid the only time your gonna go oom is maybe on a boss and most of them use some sort of aoe tecnique even if not as a healer i wouldnt wanna be that close to the combat maybe im wrong, prolly am just wanted to adds my 10cent :D

u get innervate every 4 mobs? that means u take 1,5 min per mob to kill? rofl u must have 0,1 dps to do that
as a balance druid i use all my spells, killing all the mobs i can before my mana pool run out (usually takes 7-8 mobs).
then i put on some feral gear whit tons of +attack power and attack power trinkets, force of nature a mob and melee him in moonkin, getting about 300 mana per hit whit 1000 AP about. i dont lose hp cus mob focus on a tree. i use clearcaste to throw a free insect swarm or moonfire.
balance does NOT mean patience, balance is massive spell DPS.
also moonkin dont give leather-mail but plate armor as dire bear form does.
you say: when i get clear casted i root and heal myself.
nice. you'll waste clearcast for root and use mana for heal.
as a balance druid use clearcast for healing doesnt worth the mana. you shiftw off moonkin, use 200 mana for barkskin , heal free, and use 500 mana to shift back to moonkin. since heal cost about 700 mana i dont think it worth it.
clear cast is good for feral, and for balance druid in istance bosses when ran out of mana to throw a hurricane or tranquillity for free.

Classic Druids: Guess what? You actually have to cast this buff on yourself. Was wondering why i wasn't getting any clearcasting automatically.
