anyone ever use this? the only offense i do in groups with my resto druid is faerie fire and maybe moonfire here and there.

that 2% drop in accuracy is worth casting if you get a free moment in a fight with a melee class or even with another druid. If you have time, go for it.

As a player who has used every single class in this game, I can tell you this is a GREAT new addition to the druids aresonal.
Insect swarm should NOT be considered a competitor to moonfire, it is a complement.
Moonfire+Insect gives 708dmg over 12 seconds.
Priest's SW:P gives: 852 over 18 seconds.
SW:P is considered the best DoT in the game.
Insect costs only 160 mana and moonfire 375 mana, such that even combined they give only 535 total! This compares to SW:P which is 470.
Also notice that Moonfire gives a 200 initial damaged, and that insect gives -2% chance to hit .
This makes balance/resto druids very good in pvp, and the -2% chance makes you a better healer when you're in a group!
Also note that moonfire is much more versatile due to its upfront damage and spamability making it good in many more situations.

Sounds good to me.
I see lvl 60s with trinkets that give 1% chance to hit.
That's how you measure wether or not such effects are good or not.
When it comes to the damage, it's not good.
Just a nice bonus.

Think of this spell as a vehicle for all your + spell damage gear. It doesn't get the full 100% bonus, but it get's most of it. Pretty easy to turn this into a 500 dmg dot.

Firstly:
Even with the imrpoved SW:Pain talents, its still inferios considering the INITIAL damage of moonfire and the -2% hit.
Secondly:
You simply cannot take talents into consideration because you are going to have your own talents as well which will affect your own skills.
U get +10% moonfire dmg +10% crit, another +10% dmg and -9% mana, u get -0.5cast time after ur moonfire crits etc.
Or you will get like super heals etc...
Simply put its best to compare base with base and in that case a druid with both these on is just FAR superior.

Druids have the best DoT/HoT spells. They can entangle and inflict some minor damage at the same time with roots. They can hit with an initial damage and do an excelent DoT with moonfire. They can reduce accuracy and deal decent DoT with this spell. And then their Rejuv + Renew spells for HoT are outstandingly good.
This is a good spell. Get it if you're not Feral. Even Balance Druids ought to consider it, because often they're called to help heal during raids when in a crisis, which means no moonkin form and a need to minimize damage. Caste this on a hard hitting boss, and you're very well off.

I heard rumours about this spell being able to stack. Is that true? Cause that would make it pretty much, lets say, "wtfimba" on endgame bosses.

Can u use insect swarm in moonkin form? It not, it is kind of pointless for balance druids (who go moonkin) because the switch out of moonkin and back in (mana wise) is not worth the skill.

if you go resto at 60 , you may as well use this in between all the moonfire/starfire.
quite damaging to a rouge/dual fury warrior's hit chance and it also have a dot.

I love how this turned into contests between different classes. DoT's are great but it's not the only damage you do, you don't just DoT someone and run like a panzy. Locks have 3 DoTs and a pet and then can nuke, priests have 1 dots that 1 demi dot with face melt and their skills stack to make weaknesses, druids are meant to be very versitile. Ok, so this has a lot of potential, maybe it's not the best DoT in the game but when they are resto and can throw shots in it's quite valuable where a lock can't really heal. Yet, unlike a priest they have the ability to be a tank which locks have with their summon. Then they can be a rogue class when they need to be ninja. This is a good skill to give druids a little more power so they aren't 'the sub-par verison' of a lot of classes.

I've seen multiple Insect Swarms on mobs, and thought by myself that if the reduced +to hit % stacks, it would be insanely imba on those hard Melee 2-hitting bosses which you have most likely encountered in BWL/A'Q/Naxx... Tell me if anyone tested or have any knowledge about this.

This is now a bal spell, in bal spec, and can be used in moonkin. i always root, moonfire, faire fire, and the this, mabey send trents to em if they are like 5+ LVLS ABOVE ME. GOOD COMBO!

This talent is likely going to appear on the vast majority of Restoration druids in raiding and dungeons by virtue of going for

. However, it should not be understated how important this debuff will probably be alongside other limited debuffs for bosses as there are only so many slots.
It isn't the damage that is important, it is the
decreased chance to hit to hit by 2%
. Misses by boss attacks are superior to everything a tank can do for mitigation short of getting a dodge because no damage is taken and there isn't a melee swing timer reset. Be sure this is up, even if it means down ranking it.

This spell stacks very well with feral dots and moonfire. Makes a total of 5 dots ticking at the same time while you maul your target down.
