As already stated, there isn't much use to enchants like this. Healing cloaks would put the strongest use to +all resist enchant ... saying they didn't throw subtlety on for threat reduction. If the mats were reduced, or actual amount of resistances buffed (+10-15 would suffice for these mats), I could see healers getting this as "something" to put on their cloaks.

The offtanks on Hydross need balanced resists in Frost and Nature, so I can see it being useful there.

This enchant really shines on healer cloaks. +7 resistance equals a 1.5% damage reduction against spells cast by lvl70 mobs, and a 1.44% damage reduction against spells cast by lvl73 mobs.
Imo it's better than subtlety, which is only a 2% threat reduction. As a restoration druid, I will have 20% threat reduction from talents, and another 30% threat reduction from blessing of salvation.. 2% is not going to make much difference, and the nature of healing is such that you can't really plan for 2% margins anyway, unlike DPS classes who can push and ease off for a much greater potential benefit. Threat reduction is also worthless in PvP, resistance is not.
This enchant is far superior to the +120 armor alternative, which only helps against physical damage. Healers don't take much physical damage in end game raiding, and if they do then they are likely going to be one-shotted anyway, armor or no armor. Magical damage is often aoe or random target and as such can't be avoided. This also means that it won't usually hit for 10k+ like a proper melee mob would, and thus the damage reduction isn't lost.
Yes, it's a very expensive enchant compared to the +5 resistances one, but that's how the game works; something slightly better will be a lot more expensive. :)

Best healer enchant for both PVE and PVP in my opinion.
Not a very good enchant, but it doesn't have to be good to be the best when theres no alternatives.

In pvp, I'd' think you'd probably get more advantage from +15 shadow resist than +7 all resist

For the materials required for this enchant, the benefits seem very weak. The materials themselves cost well over 200g, and only for +7 resist to all...no thanks.

this dropped for me farming air elementals in SMV. sold it for 500g. put it on the AH as 50g bid just to see where it'd go... couldn't even believe how much i got for it. was a beautiful day :)

Let's see. On Thrall,
Greater Planar Essence = 6g (24g for 4)
Primal Fire = 25g (100g for 4)
Primal Air = 25-30g (up to 120g for 4)
Primal Earth = 5g (20g for 4)
Primal Water = 20g (80g for 4)
Hence +7 All Resistances = 325g conservatively, plus enchanters charge for the fact this is a semi-rare enchant...and/or tip...350g+?
For +7 all resistances. Right...unless you really need the slightly buffed resistances, +120 armor or +12 agi (depending on your class) will probably be just as useful and MUCH cheaper. Or get one of the pre-BC +resistance enchants instead.

Maybe it is just me, but I've always considered resistance-type enchants to be just sort of 'meh,' myself.
Subelty, spell pene, even major armor seem to be better uses of the 'slot' for me (as a doomkin/resto hybrid).
With the numbers of spells, potions, auras, etc. that far and away supercede the +7 all resists, I think I could put those mats better off elsewhere.
Just my gut instinct - but I don't see many times where a person has said 'man, if I had just had a couple more points in resists, I would have survived that encounter!'

this will reduce the magic you take by exactly 1.5% at lvl 70, +120 armor will reduce physical resistance 0.50% on warriors and palidens and 1.20% on cloth wearers at lvl 70

Druids have no protection against casters whatsoever. No practical spell interruption, no stunlock, no silence, no mana burn, no cloak of shadows, no spell reflection, no cast-slowing debuff, etc. So aside from an arms warrior, nothing is more threatening than a caster. Since there's nothing I can do about overpower being overpowered, I can at least put up a fight against casters. I find that having resists allows me to survive in pvp longer than any amount of stamina, armor or dodge. As for the difference in cost between this enchant and the +5, adding +2 resist all is like adding half a gem slot, since void sphere is +4. Void spheres are much cheaper than this and should probably be used first, but if you're gear is already full of them, getting this upgrade on
Syrannis' Mystic Sheen
is the next step.

+5 Resist all for a cloak isnt bad. Yeah, this is only slightly better, but that's the way things work... its gonna be that much harder (mat wise, cost wise) to that that much of an increase...
say it would be 10x more expensive to get a 40% increase (7-5=2/5 = 0.40)
Maybe the math is off... but I find resistance gear is important in some fights and in long fights even a little bit can make the different. Like say for Illhoove where you may get a lot of shadow and fire DMG ... or in Aran where you are gonna get hit for a lot of Arcane DMG and a good bit of frost (from Elementals) and fire (when its not interupted) and ice (when its not interupted).
Also this is great for Shadow resist, because for some odd reason Blizz put in no Shadow resist gear, until you get to Black Temple. While its not key is a lot of fights there are some fights - even in heroic instances - where (> 190) SR is required. So put in a few green SR pieces, maybe some old T1/T2 pieces and some RES ALL gear .. and you good to go.

For the curious people with a thirst for knowledge such as myself...
This enchantment gives a resistance score of 7 which is equal to
2.1%
chance to resist. Multiply this by the number of schools which is 5 and you get a total
10.5%
resistance.
To find this out, visit the official WoW site:

Blizzard says that the maximum resistance score you can have is 250 thereby giving you a maximum of 75% chance to fully resist a spell and a maximum of 99% spell damage reduction if that 1% chance you fail to fully resist it.
To figure out the % resist you get out of a score resist is simply dividing the score resist by 3.33(the 3s continue endlessly after the decimal)
Take for example: 7 score resist divided by 3.33 equals 2.1% resist.
The people that posted above this thread have no idea of the potential of this expensive enchantment and obviously didn't do their research. Blizzard hires the nerdiest of nerds to make their games and it's very likely you get what you pay for. This enchant costs around 300 Gold.
Here are my choices of the best cloak enchantments for my 70 arena rogue:
7 All Resist = 10.5% Total Resistance
12 Agility = 1.98% Sum of %s increased from DPS/Crit/DmgRed/Dodge
120 Armor = 0.9% Damage Reduce
I see this as a % increase of a better character I will have. Anyone would choose the highest %. The choice is simple...

or open up your character screen and do the math yourself. Cause when that druid begins casting cyclone at you...you better pray to God your resistance will save you, and your team for that matter.

hmm.. ok you're thinking I said 10.5% resist to all the schools. no my friend... what I was trying to say was 2.1 x 5 = 10.5 and that's what I mean by "total" same with the agility enchantment. dude if this GAVE 10.5% to all schools it'd be sweet! I just wanted to correct your thoughts on that one.
