Is there only one rank of this spell, or have higher ranks just not been submitted yet?

This seems to be another PvP ability. It would be hard to judge and time in PvE. There seems to be no good reason to prefer it over Rejuvination. In PvP, however, it's an excellent counter to enemies who love to dispel HoT's, it being the compliment to Warlocks' Unstable Affliction DoT.

It's a very powerful HoT even in PvE. You forget that for every Druid there can be 3 stacks on it. So Rejuvenation + 3x Lifebloom is sick healing.

After playing around with Lifebloom, it has some interesting traits about it.
1. Lifebloom 'ticks' that heal are counted towards your healing and aggro. So it's very low aggro until the burst. However, there's a second interesting trait about it.
2. Lifebloom 'burst' heals are counted towards the person that HAS Lifebloom active, not you. This means that if you run any kind of 'healing meters,' it will be skewed (I'm now a Lifebloom worshiper vs Rejuv in most cases, unless I'm healing an MT, where I use both, and refresh Lifebloom's stacks as needed).
What this means, though, is it's EXTREMELY low aggro. How come? If the healing from Lifebloom's burst (Most of the healing in a good chunk of cases) is let's say... A 1000 heal (Not a whole lot, but enough)... That 1000 heal's aggro goes to the person that got healed, not you. This means that you could buff all 5 people in a group in a rotation (Buff party member 1, 2, 3, 4, then yourself... Then start back at one. The First 'bloom' will be done by then, since the Global cooldown will not allow you to rebuff it.
This means that if your ticks heal for... Let's say 100 a tick. This means you'll have a total of 7 * 5 * 100, or 3500 healing. Think of it like a Healing Touch rank 10 heal, basically, except over the course of about 15 or so seconds. However, you had 5 blooms. Let's call them 1000 heal 'blooms' there. That means it's another 5000 healing aggro. HOWEVER, since Lifebloom's burst heals heal for the person they buffed, THEY get the aggro. Not you! That means you avoid 5000 healing aggro!
Truely, this will be a very low aggro spell for any Druid. And if you heal a main tank with this, it'll give them just a little more aggro. Now, of course, the aggro also goes to any raid members you use this on, but even so, it won't be substantial enough to make a huge difference in a raid. But in a 5 person party, it can. But it just makes Lifebloom that much better, in my opinion, since you won't draw near as much aggro as you would casting 5 Rejuvs and dropping one or two Healing Touches, versus 5 Lifeblooms instead of the Rejuvs.
Less mana per point healed, less aggro vs Rejuv, and stackable to any situation. Not to say Rejuvination is bad (It's still an excellent spell to use, believe me), but Lifebloom will truely be my new primary method of healing vs Rejuv.

Stacking increases the regen and efficiency.
IE base Lifebloom 220mana 273health
Right before the last tick on a 3 stack life bloom over and over gives a 819 health HoT for 220 mana. As long as you are dedicating to refreshing before the timer goes out. Very efficient and very low aggro.

Lifebloom is to buffs, what UA is to debuffs, seeing as when its dispelled you're healed, so it is protection against those dispel/purge happy players.

Do we know anything about a rank 2? Or assume it'll be a future book drop?

I don't know how I've lived without this 64 levels. On most battles, have always a 3 stacked lifebloom on your tank. Or you could let them explode so he gains more aggro and you can heal better. And it's so damn efficient...

2.1.0 Patch notes:
"Lifebloom": Each additional application of this spell will now include the full bonus from effects which increase healing. The final heal, however, is still unaffected by stacking multiple applications of this spell.

Since patch 2.1.0 Lifebloom is just the best healing spell any druid can use ever and period.
Before the patch I was even thinking about re-rolling like a paladin or a priest but now theres no way. I say this cause in any raid instance in TBC all mobs and bosses use burst damage. They can take anyone down in a couple secs if healers don´t start right away. Bein a druid castin reju is not enought since it ticks just every 3sec. Regrow is very mana expensive and HT just don´t heal a lot or takes up to 3sec to cast and the guy is dead.
What happens now is, the druid´s lifebloom costs 220 mana. With the gear I have now when I apply 03 stacks it ticks (with treeform aura) around 750 HP / Sec.
So between any damage the MT takes and the first heal get to him (for instance a flash heal) you have at least a 02 sec window wich means you just healed the MT for around 1,5k and you just multiple this for each time the MT gets hit. When all the healers get feared, you gonna heal him for over 5k if the bloom don´t crit at the end.
Since its a instant cast the whole fight I just keep 03 stacks of MT and OT. Keep always reju on the MT, if he goes down too quick, pop switf.
I didn´t believe until I saw the Healing metters, its just absurd.
And yes, if you have 02 druids theres no way your MT can go down gettin healed for over 1,5k every sec plus the normal healers you have on the group.
Good trinkets like
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28727
and consumables for mp5 like flasks and mana oils just make you free to do it the whole fight.

The lifebloom stack takes advantage of your total healing the moment you start the stack. Therefore, if you pump up your healing immediately before starting the stack, you will have that amount of healing applied to that stack even after your buffs go away.

Patch 2.3.2 notes;
Druids
* Lifebloom: When this ability is refreshed it will take on the strength of the incoming Lifebloom effect, rather than maintain the existing strength.
Pretty much stops the above from happening, which is a good thing imo, as you could use all +healing trinkets/buffs available, and just keep LB stacked, which was over powered, especially in a pvp sense.

A question: Seeing how the final heal is unaffected by the number of lifeblooms stacked, does purging two out of three lifeblooms trigger the heal?

As of the newest 2.4 PTR patchnotes, "Lifebloom healing coefficient has been reduced".
Anyone got details on this reduction?

I would just like to add that lifebloom is by far the best druid healing spell in 5 mans.
1. It is low mana cost
2. i only have 1440+healing but when i stack 3 together it heals for about 600 a second (800 or so on a lock with their lock shield)
3. i regen more mana over 6 seconds than it takes to cast the lifebloom to restack it on the target for another 7 seconds, this means that if the target is getting hit in a 5 man for 1k or less a hit(which is usually the case unless in a heroic) i will never run out of mana
4. The 7 seconds AND the burst of life at the end is great if a target gets hurt a little, u can stack one on it and then let the lifebloom end healing anywhere from 1.5k to 2k
5. For pvp its nice because u can stack it with rejuv and become almost unkillable with the right gear, and also if a shaman purges it you still get the burst of life at the very end which has saved me life on a couple of occasions.
This is nothing extremely important and i just wanted to bring it up to people who may be new to the druid class.

The pendant of the violet eye will now be a very viable druid trinket come 2.4, as the intel will increase their MP5 with spirit, which could be of huge benefit. Come 2.4, I will use the Violet Eye for fights where mana is important, and the Scarab of the infinite Cycle for when I need to heal alot of members quickly.

If a mage spellsteals this, does the bloom stilll burst?
I know when I spellsteal this when I'm playing my mage, the burst heals me, but I'm not sure if spellsteal counts as a purge/dispell and thus blooms on the target I stole it from or not...
Thanks.

Druids will use this and stay alive for years. The only way to kill a Druid, because of it's 3 ticking heal spells, are critical hits from a Mage's
pyroblast
, or from a rogue's
cold blood
ed
ambush
.
All it takes is 5 mouse clicks while it will take an entire group to take down a Druid spamming these. Most of them these druids don't attack, they just spam this spell and stay alive forever.
Wound Poison
from rogues is a good idea, and
mortal strike
from a Warrior is also a good idea.
stunning
them
doesn't work either, they always pop right outta that.
Mages can
steal
it 1 by 1, as well as all the other spammed heals on the druid which can help give your other teammates about 2 seconds to attack before the healing druid spams more of them. oh and
sheep
ing them doesn't do any good.
Priests can
dispel
these too, but you're basically giving up all your mana for a couple healing dots on 1 target which will be replaced by just a spec of the driud's mana while spamming more. also if you're a shadow priest you can use
silence
whenever they feel the need for more healing dots.
Hunter's
viper sting
will work eventually, and for marks hunter's you can try
silencing
them for a couple ticks.
Warlock dots are pretty pointless here, only equals it out kinda, if you got the right pet out you can
spell lock
them and hope it works at the right time. Try
unstable affliction
first to even with all the healing dots.
Other than that, the best way to stop a healing druid from this type of behavior, is to catch it in a healing cast like regrowth, and use
counterspell
or
kick
or
earth shock
or whatever, and lock it out of its healing class for a little bit.
Most of these druids that do this will jump a lot too, usually in the direction away from the crowd. Most of them are Tarrens, males. Also, it's a good idea to hop back into bear form after spamming these, not just to avoid more damage, but to look funny while jumping.
As you can see, it takes a lot more than 1 person to kill a healing druid, thanks blizzard!

Lifebloom is ridiculously, insanely mana efficient. Add in the fast tick time and the capability to stack, and you have one of the best (if not the best) healing spells in the game. With enough +healing (maybe Kara level) you could heal 5-mans with just this spell. It's that good.
If you're a Druid and you're not using this spell, you're wrong.

Another comment on the final burst heal of Lifebloom:
I have seen Lifebloom's burst crit a few times, and it always surprised me, considering that spell crit is not a high priority on a Resto Druid's stat list - it seemed to happen more often than it should.
Turns out, the burst heal on Lifebloom has a chance to crit based on the -target's- spell crit stat, not the casting druid's. Lifebloom on mages, locks, an ele shammies, is going to crit a LOT.

ok, it says 'heal over 7 seconds, at the end, target healed instantly for additional heal' say you cast it all 3 times, at the end of the 7 seconds, does it heal for 1800 (we're not gonna go into +healing gear)or do they have 3 lifeblooms that last 7 seconds? and if they do stack for 7 seconds it's prolly heal on 1,3,5.. then final burst heal, i'm just guessing. so it'd be 91, 91, 91, 600. if it were casted it'd be 91 (1), 182(2), 273(3), 273, 273, 1800? if anyone knows, this'd be of great help.

also: stacking this for like 7600 heal at the end? pwnage!

the heal at the end does not stack, the rest does. It can heal for max 600 (plus tree of life bonus, so 800) when dispelled or finished.

the shaman's purge dispells 2 buffs in 1 cast...maybe you will get healed for 2x600...
if this is true - stacking could be usefull when dueling priest/shaman

I think you guys are missing the point with all your mana efficiency math. This is a pretty potent instant cast hot that you can use with rejuv. You don't have to abandon rejuvenation to use lifebloom. Whether or not rejuv is better than lifebloom, having both ticking is much better than having either by itself. In a lot of situations having more healing going outweighs mana efficiency.

Thottbot
Guys its really simple what this spell is for, its the same as the Warlock talent spell Unstable Affliction: it's made to be a Dispel shield. Look at all the other HoT spells at this level, Regrowth costs around 800 mana, this costs 200 or so. Which would you rather recast if it got dispelled? Throw Regrowth on, 'cap' it with this spell and then when someone thinks they are smart and tries to dispell they get this one instead which you can instant cast right back on to protect your other HoTs. Thats why its not 'heal efficient' its made to make your more efficient spells more safe.

stack lifebloom 3 times at the beginning of the fight on the tank then throw a rejuv on him when he goes down 15%. Keep recasting lifebloom every 4/5 seconds and rejuv every 8/9 seconds. The tanks health will never go down. If it does hit him with a regrowth.
If someone else takes damage you can switch off the tank to cast the sluggish 3 second heal on whomever took aggro and by the time you're back to the main tank either the hots are still going or the bloom has filled him up.
Sow hots. Keep lifebloom stacked 3 times and keep it refreshed.
I'm a full feral and I can heal any regular 70 instance using this simple technique.

This spell is actually very mana efficient
it's incredibly useful for 2 things: (i have +1660 healing)
Stack 3 times on the main tank and use rejuv. the triple stack actually serves as a secondary rejuv. which costs less mana and heals more per second. So even though you're saying oh its not mana efficient, it actually is. The method you should use is to stack lifebloom three times and then cast rejuv. Wait 5 seconds so your mp5 goes off and recast lifebloom. You have a continuous HoT that is healing mass amounts of damage on top of your rejuv.
Secondly, it helps with dps after an AoE. Simply cast 1 lifebloom on 5 party members, hoping the other healers come in handy at this point and take care of the other 5 in your raid.
I like to look at is as a 6 second cast that heals for about 2000 (with my gear..) that you can use on all the dps at once. I love it, I will always stack it thrice on the tank, and no matter what you say that is the best way to do it.

Another thing to consider with this OMG potent spell is who does the final heal? It is NOT the caster, but the target. Your tank gets the healing threat for the big pop at the end. For in-between healings, this will quickly get a full party up for about 1K mana. This spell totally rocks, and keeps attention where you want it, instead of on you.

Well im a 70 resto druid and this is the best heal ever. Period. The secondyou throw it you get heals and its, therefore being much faster than rejuvenation and renew, and unlike those also you get 7 ticsinstead of 5 and the final heal,as a Full Resto Druid i can go through and complete instance without casting anything but this (To heal of course)and in raids i do the same execpt with rejuvenation and keep nature's swiftness on for a quick regrowth every now and then, it has yet 2 fail me =]
Also super nice for pvp and dueling its the all around best spell, sure priests get bubble but with this who needs absorbing ^-^
So Get the idol from SL to improve this, you wont regret it. Period. =]

Lifebloom: Druids everywhere, this is your bread and butter heal, the single spell that makes tree form viable, it is your god. Some lovely tricks about lifebloom.
Indeed, the final heal is accredited to your target. If you notice, with floating combat text the heal is not shown above your target when the final heal procs, meaning the heal isnt accredited to you. However, letting the final heal proc isn't the purpose.
Stacking three lifeblooms gives my druid 600 healing per second, consistently, its probably the best heal in the game. It handles burst damage instantly, by the time another healer gets on it my HoTs (especially lifebloom) have ticked enough that the emergency is abated.
And want to try a little trick? Put on trinkets that allow you to use them to get a temporary +healing bonus (like Essence of the Martyr) preferably two such trinkets, and then stack three lifeblooms. You can get it to tick for over 1k health every second, and when you refresh it five seconds later you renew it with the ORIGINAL plus healing! So you can indefinately have 1000 tick lifeblooms for long boss fights. Zomg.

Best spell ever.
'Nuff said.
I have around 1,800 +heals, I'm still not comfortable solo-healing, but sitting in tree form, keeping it up, and having a back-up burst healer to accomodate for too much damage is wonderful.
For instance, on Prince/Nightbane etc... As long as I keep it up, the tank is probably not dying. Of course, during Phase 2 more burstiness will be required, but yea... It lessens burst damage taken drastically.

For Magoomba's comment, it does drop the threat on the target. If it put it on me, I could never keep multiple mobs off me while healing for a tank that only does one demo shout. I've done this; cast the bloom and let it pop. Cast another bloom and run it to 3 seconds before starting a regrowth, rejuv, and another bloom. The Bloom is ticking around 180 and popping for around 1400. The regrowths normally crit for 3 K, then about 1100 per 3 from the regrowth and lifebloom. I have -20% heal threat, and the target is either bear or defense stanced. The extras do not come to me, even when I've had the tank not do other AoE, and have not thornsed them. The test you did pulled threat on the initial heal, as 0 had been established, and then failed to regain off of the pop (which would need to be 110 or 130% of the ticks). Unless you were both melee range, he needed 130%.
If you want to test it, have someone generate a known amount of threat that will be close to the lifebloom's tick healing threat. If YOU get the threat of the pop, the creature would immediately charge you at the pop. If not, you do not get the threat. To go a step further, cast another lifebloom and see what happens. If you made the two threats close, that should DEFINATELY get the creature on you. When it doesn't after the second pop, you will see that they are generating additional threat somehow. Try it, you'll see.
I just remembered the other problem with that "test". How much damage did the lock have on them. If the lifebloom healed it all (or almost all) by the final tick, the pop didn't generate enough threat (or non if he was then full).
Solo usage: It's great. In the BGs, it is the shaman/priest/felhunter bane. I've been healed so much by morons spamming purge or dispell. 220 mana for me, I dunno how much for them, and I get 1400 healing as an instant. Spam away. For PvE solo, it is a nice instant to get back a nice amount of health if you have an add-in. Not so great for a feral who has to come out to cast it, but if you are caster form, it rocks. Just make sure you'll survive long enough for it to heal you.
Feral combo: This is a place where I'd either recommend against it or advise a change in the order of cast. Try LBx2, Regrowth, Rejuv, LB. You keep more duration that way (and get more healing, easy the healers more, and get all the threat at that nice bear-form increase).
Anyway, the only druids I've seen not like it are the ones who must sacrifice something to cast it, and don't have much +heals (mainly ferals, but some balance). I mainly use it (at this point) to keep the tank (or raid members) above 75% without using enough mana to consider. At 176 in tree-form, and kicking out 2500+ on the heals, this spell has efficiency that really can't be matched. In short fights, I'm second to third on the meters (in a 25-man). In long fights, lifebloom and a high spirit push me into a distant first. Between bloom and prayer of mending (I think it is), I've seen a tankout-heal a couple off-healers. I've also noticed the DPS difference when I use this instead of rejuv on the tank. He has more threat, so the DPSers cut lose more, the fight is shortened, and I rarely use my innervate (and I've done Gruul without potions). Resto druid is defined by their ability to heal longer and uniformly, keeping the targets from dropping low in health (but not being the best at topping someone off). This spell matches that description perfectly, and should never be overlooked by a healing druid. If you heal or tank, this spell is your best friend.

This is a pretty good spell to make nice numbers on the healig meter :)
Say you have 3 tanks taking damage from a boss, then you can keep 3 lifeblooms up on each tank at the same time throughout the fight. Say you have 1600ish bonus healing like me. Each 3-stack ticking for 700 ish, then you get roughly 2k healing per sec the whole fight :)

Can keep it up on 4 tanks too :). Its great to have combined with rejuv as whenever you see the tanks health go a little low hit swiftmend and heals for around 4-5k :). If still low use natures swiftness with HT.
Tis why resto's are brill.
