Also, Felhunter has great magic resistances, with the master/servernt bond (where they get some of your resistances, Int & Stam) it gets over 100 to ALL magic schools by 70. It also has good magic resistance w/o Master Demonologist though.

For those that realy whant to know, this is what it does:
1. When fighting an enemy, it can eat one of the enemys buffs and gain it's health back when it does.
2. Buff Paranoia: Increases stealth detection of the entire group.(not much though).
3. It's defense is almost as high as voidwalkers, and it's attack is almost as much as the succubus.
4. DM effect: increases resistances to all schools of magic.
5. It has a buff that makes it so when it is hit with a melee attack the attacker loses 17 attack power for 10 seconds and stacks up to 5 times.
6. It has a spell that interupts the spell bieng cast, and disables all spells in that school for a short while. (only useable on enemys).

Oh I almost forgot, to get the felhunter:
1.Go to your capital city and find the warlock trainers area.
2. one person will have a new quest for you.
3.Follow the quest outline.
As for the orcs and undead... Orcs go to UC to get it, it's easier. The quest has you go to thousand needles and retrieve a piece of a book from a chest in a centaur cave. Then it has you go to hillsbrad and get the other half from a murloc camp. The quest giver now has you kill dragonmaw warlocks in the wetlands. Congradulations You can now fight the felhunter and acquire him.(##RESPBREAK##)272##DELIM##Uchur##DELIM##

sigh...as a mage, when you see a warlock with the dog out, you may as well just give up right there. Yes, it is true, a level 60 mage can't even kill the warlock's dog.
Outside the duel though, if you can get the drop on the warlock, arcane/fire mages can try fireball + POM pyroblast + fireblast approach and try to kill the warlock before he can react.

ok this is to the mages out there and mage haters out there who think just coz u have a pet u cant be beaten by a mage (not talking about frost i dont play 1 i am talking about Fire/Arcane) i admit a fell-puppy can solo a mage and it makes it hard and this is where the skilled players are separated from the players tht rely on their gear and power to win fights coz they just get pwned in 3.5 seconds. :P but fire/arcane mages as long as they use instants till the lock is forced to use spell lock and kite the lock u can beat them.
i know from experience tht locks are very overconfident in this matter and tht is enevitably their undoing :D

I shall soon have the felhunter.. sounds very good :P. I currently use the VW all of the time because of the fact that it can be used on everything. Succubus only really seems effective if it can use seduce, otherwise its armour is weak and making aggro to me defeats the object seing im a clothy:P
and to all mages out there, theres nothing to make up for the fact that warlocks pwn mages, hands down, just accept it :P. I see alot of mages thinking that because they have the most powerful magic, they can own everything. Well ive duelled many many times against mages and each time they have hardly got a hit in. Even when i get my fear interrupted by that magic deflect spell, i just immolate them and in a few secs i can fear again - even without a pet summoned its easy. Mages are only good against classes that rely on movement and if they cant freeze the opponent in place then they are useless :P. Polymorph is a common tactic, followed by a huge pyro blast, but thats usually the only hit given :P
The only classes ive seen so far that a lock gets owned by is warrior (with charge) and priests (with absorb shield and instant cast fear). Paladin came close but not quite :P
And to all the people who say 'fear is lame because it stops anybody doing anything'.. in that case then the priest shouldnt heal or absorb, the mage shouldnt freeze or blink, the warrior shouldnt charge, the druid shouldnt shape-shift and the rogue shouldnt stealth or sap :P

what i do if there's a rogue about is to put my demon on aggressive and give it detect invisibility, if i'm lucky it can hit the rogue before he can ambush me, then it's just fear, curse, siphon etc. until he's reduced to a mushy puddle :)

This is a part of a poem that a fellow warlock made and posted on EUforums, this is about the felhunter:
Number four is next so listen right up,
A great PvP pet is our Felhunter pup.
You might think that's not much and you'll soon be the winner,
Until you see all your spells he's having for dinner.

Ten Reasons to Play a Warlock
The first reason why should be first on this list,
We summon up demons with a flick of the wrist.
They obey our commands and fulfill every wish,
Like letting us win at Old Maid and Go Fish.
Number two in the rank is quite mean I'll admit,
Our curses and fears give casters a fit.
We blast them all day as they shiver and shake,
If we run low on mana they've lots we can take.
I think my favorite so far is the third reason why,
It's just too dang hard to get us to die.
Try as you might it's unlikely we'll fall,
If we start to get weak we'll Death Coil you all.
Number four is next so listen right up,
A great PvP pet is our Felhunter pup.
You might think that's not much and you'll soon be the winner,
Until you see all your spells he's having for dinner.
Should I mention the fifth, its not good, it's not great,
When asked by the group we can summon a mate.
If you beg us too much well start to get pissed,
And type in your name on our long ignore list.
Number six in the count keeps our gold in the bank,
We're not gear dependent like some poor hapless tank.
Your mounts cost a lot, 'bout a ninety gold fee,
I'm happy to say that our Felsteeds are free.
Number seven has arrived and it's finally here,
I've wrestled with this for almost a year.
Our Succubus pet makes the teen boys just whimper,
Beg all you want, I'm not going to pimp her.
Eight is up next, and I'll cover our gear,
Our epics are great, dissent I won't hear.
Our Robe of the Void is sure pretty neat,
Only issue I have is that I can't see my feet.
Nine after eight and it's merits I'll chime,
Don't look for a priest when it's group forming time.
Why heal your wounds when you start to get sick,
Our health and soul stones will work just as quick.
Ten is the last of a long fruitful list,
I'm sure that some of my points have been missed.
I know that the 'lock is the best in the game,
You can play something else, but that's totally lame.

Ok, I have a few things here.
1. Felhunter is great against casters (mages, sometimes druids, priests depending on what they use, etc.)
2. Paranoia comes in handy when dealing with rogues or anything else that can stealth, like Edwin VanCleef's Blackguards.
3. The Felhunter can heal itself, by eating enemy buffs and can lower their attack. Very handy indeed.
4. Very resistant to magic. Highly lovable. :)
5. High attack and defense, from what I have read. Very useful. "Jack of all trades, master of none."
6. Other minions: DO NOT HESITATE TO USE. The Felhunter cannot be used as your only minion on a lot of occasions. Like the Voidwalker...when soloing (lvl 50-) the Void is a great minion to have out, absorbs damage directed at him without dying for long periods. Long periods indeed...moving on. The Succubus: Useful when killing things that don't have all that high attack power, because it is EXTREMELY fragile. Very high damage. Void and Succubus are opposites, use them in opposite times. Felguard (which from what I have read, nobody mentioned) may take the Demonology tree, true, but VERY high attack power and good defense. Good for PvP and almost all the time really. Great minion. Still recommend the Felhunter for casters, don't think I'm implying you shouldn't use the pet this thread is about. Doomguard (NOT RECOMENDED AT ALL!): If you REALLY want to, this thing takes an entire party to summon. Also, you only get control for 5 MIN! What a rip off. Good for quick, hard quests I suppose. Plus you can enslave, but each time it is harder to control, until eventually you just can't maintain being its master...BOOM! As mentioned earlier in this thread, it's a time bomb...a very deadly, mass killing, rampaging time bomb that just won't stop exploding until it's totally destroyed manually. Case closed. Although it DOES do crazy murderous damage (All the worse when it escapes, remember!). So, Felhunters should be used mainly on casters, but they're ok elsewhere also. Building off of what I have read, seen, heard, etc. here...I'm a lvl 20 lock. :) Hope this is useful, if not, sry for wasting your time everyone.

I forgot to mention the Infernal, sorry. It does massive damage, like the Doomguard. Shares quite a bit with the Doomguard. It has really, I mean REALLY high defense...unfortunately, the problem with it is the exact same. Plus it costs 50 silver to get the reagent, and can only be summoned once an hour. People might also yell angrily at you if you bring it into capital cities, good way to lose aqqautainces. People won't be too fond of you if you're known to bring this into Stormwind every hour or something, due to it breaking free and killing everyone. Although it only takes you to summon, unlike the Doomguard. Remember to use CoS when enslaving it. Don't forget: The Spell is called Inferno, and the demon itself is the Infernal.

Let's face it, a warlock can pretty much gank most classes except a hunter, that being at a fairly low level (<60)

lolz the main reason for a a felhunter is for tanking.with its abilities its excellent for raids tanking and attacking mobs
评论来自
Thottbot
That's a hard one.
Voidwalkers of course have alot of health,
but it's damage... forget it! Yet, on the
other hand, Imps can attack from a distance:
decreasing the chance it will be attack by
other PvP players. The Imp also has a stamina
boost buff that gives the caster, nearby allies,
and the Imp itself, more health. But, of course,
those two are not the only choices. If you have
them, the succubus and the felhunter are a lock's
best friend in PvP (unless you have a felguard of course!).
So, abot the choice between the void walker and the imp: I, personnaly would choose Imp.

Shadowpriest here. In BGs I generally do well and am almost always in the top quarter in kills and with DoT am always near the top in damage as well. However, I made the mistake of going head to head with AC warlock and his felhunter pet. I was absolutely owned. Not once, but every single time I went up against him. Granted, he was level 59 and I was trying to get some honor before I had a right to be there (lvl 56), but nonetheless, not a pleasant experience whatsoever.
Now that I've done my research, I see why. This pet is vicious.
Anyway, I now know to avoid locks with fel pets.

You get this pet via a quest, just like the succubus. If you've ever been to the Warlock trainer in Stormwind, you've seen the felhunters - it's on the other side of the room.
Opinions vary as to whether or not this pet is worth all the trouble. I'll follow up as I am on the quest now, but haven't completed it.
The start of the quest is in Stormwind. Get the quest from the trainer. If you are wondering, you WILL be doing a lot of running, as your first stop is in Ratchet on the opposite continent.

Someone asked if Felhunter is worth getting. It is. I have talked to a lot of lv 60 warlocks and they all agree its worth it. Besides casting debuff, this pet can cast silence (makes it so you can't cast) which other casters hate.
Its used a lot in high instance raids. So if you don't have it, they will probably make you get it. No its not as good a tank as VW or Succubus. But it has its uses.
I have watched a lv 60 warlock dueling a lv 60 shadowpriest beat him with her felhunter. So, it does have its uses in PVP.
Great write up on how to get it. Can't wait to get this pet.

It may be dragonmaw orcs you have to kill, but the camp they are in is called angerfang encampment.confused hell outta me looking for them.you can entr camp from either end of mntns if you want to fight your way in,but if you follow road around mountains, there is a way in smack in middle that takes you right to the tents.take out a few noncasters and you can get to an open field(had mageroyal growing in it).from there you have 3 pop spots for the summoner sand their skel minions, none were a big deal at lv30. they pop by trees behind you,in hills and near tents.throw on recklessness so they stay put and you are fine.didnt keep track of exact drop rate, but 1/3 seems about right.wasnt there long.lot of silver and silk cloth as bonuses.have fun.

is this the last pet warlocks get that do not have to be enslaved over and over? I see that you can enslave a doomguard after you summon it at higher levels but it seems like a real pain to have to keep re-charming it. Just wondering how the warlock pets work at higher levels. Doesnt seem too cool that the enslaved pets also have a slowed attack and casting effect on them from the enslave spell.

Lakeshire to Morgan's vigil will get you killed.
Lv 30. Pass guarded by LV ? elemental. Death.
Anything in that zone = death, and don't bother trying to spirit-walk north, you can't. The mountain range totally blocks you... (After an hour, you'll wonder why it's the information age and such a simple piece of time saving information wasn't expressed in any maps or map websites.)
Load up

Click on 'show travelpaths' and show location names
Kill yourself and walk there.
I tried to walk across the ocean.. and my spirit died. I think was is due to being too far away from land. Don't games waste enough of our time without being menial and stupid? I'm sure this is going to end up being one of those quests where I can look back and see how 30 hours of bull!@#$ resulted in one inch of progress.

The servers are down and I have some spare time so I thought I'd post a quick guide to getting this pet. I did it as a 32 gnome warlock but most of it is universal. It's a long quest that requires tons of traveling and fighting but let's face it. The Felhunter is one badass looking pet and you want him.
I'm doing this mostly from memory so if I forget something, someone correct me.
Seeking Strahad
A warlock in Ironforge or Stormwind will tell you to go see Strahad in The Barrens. He lives in a tower in Ratchet which is located on the eastern coast of The Barrens.
Talk to him and he'll tell you about the Tome of Cabal and to find more information, go see Krom Stoutarm in the Explorer's League library in Ironforge.
Before you leave, you might want to take the boat to Booty Bay and discover the flight path there. It'll make your life so much easier.
The Tome of Cabal
Krom tells you in the quest log that the two pieces are lost in Southshore and Thousand Needles.
The Moldy Tome
First, travel to Southshore. It's located in the Hillsbrad Foothills, if you've never been there. Follow the road north in the Wetlands then Northwest in the Arathi highlands. It's not hard to find if you stick to the road. If you get sidetracked, be prepared to die.
The Moldy Tome is being guarded by level 30 to 32 Murlocks along the Southwestern shoreline in Southshore. They don't drop it. It's in a box labeled "Tome of Cabal". Easy enough? No. The tome is in a camp of about 6 Murlocks. To get to it you'll either have to group or find a creative way to get to the Tome solo. I did it solo at lvl 32. It was difficult but I just made good use of my VW and sacrifice. I would pull like 3 at a time, kill one as fast as possible, then sacrifice and run away. Then repeat. You might be able to just run into the camp, sacrifice and then try opening the tome. I never tried it though.
The Tattered Manuscript
This part of the quest is just as difficult, but in different ways.
You'll have to go back to The Barrens and go south all the way into Thousand Needles. The entrance to this zone is a lift that'll take you down the huge cliff. The lift is guarded by a Horde PvP guard. He was soloable at lvl 32 but then I became PvP flagged and a lvl 40 shaman got on the lift right behind me. He killed me once off the lift. So if you don't want to take that risk, you could try sacrificing and jumping off the cliff and hoping you live.
Once at the bottom, travel southeast along the wall. You'll come to a huge centaur village and there is a cave along the wall. Once inside the cave, fight your way upwards and to the right. The centaurs are a little lower level than the Murlocks but you're inside a densely packed cave and its easy to get outnumbered, so be careful. The Manuscript is in a "damaged chest". For me, it was right next to a gold mine on my mini-map, so if you're a miner you might be able to use that to your advantage in finding it.
Once you have the manuscript, Hearthstone out and head to Ironforge.
The Channeling Rods
Krom will tell you that Strahad will need one more thing from you to make the summoning circle complete. He tells you to go to the Wetlands and find the Dragonmaw Orc casters and get 3 of their channeling rods.
These orcs are in the Dragonmaw Encampment in the Wetlands. They are in the high 20s and shouldn't be a problem besides the fact that they always stay huddled close together. The rods of channeling have a drop rate of about 1 in 3 from the casters. When you get 3 of them, head back to Ratchet.
The Binding
Same basic deal as before. You activate the summoning circle and subdue the Felhunter. It's an extremely easy fight.
so there you go. Hopefully this helps some people. Good luck.
