Great item for dps warriors or rogues. An item aquired in the expansion so it'll take some time to get I'm sure.

This sword and the Lionheart are making me seriously consider taking BS.
This is one of the greatest tanking swords I've seen. It's fast, allowing steady rage generation. It's got +AGI which increases the chance to dodge, crit, and even adds a little armor, stamina is always loved by warriors and the +Hit is just the icing on top of the cake. Tanking bosses typically means tanking mobs higher level, so I'll take all the +Hit I can get. Great weapon.

I can't believe they actually made Gladiator's Quickblade (

One of my fellow rogues (Ciara - Dark Crusaders @ Azjol-Nerub EU) crafted the final piece not long ago. Vortex's for us so far have had a fairly high drop rate from the trash in SSC. This sword is truely a thing of beauty and combine it with mongoose you have a truely awesome rogue OH. Ciara currently has Hope Ender in MH and blows the dmg meters to pieces, seriously thinking about lvling up BS and going for sword spec from being fists since lvl 70.

so for a paladin tank, is this weap good? or the mace?
评论来自

For several reason I think this sword is trash ... compared to the other crafts. #1 there are many better offhands (e.g: Merciless Gladiator offhands own it in both speed or stats) #2 The mace or axe (depending on preference and class) are attainable only if you aren't swordsmith (duh...) and are until Hyjal or Black temple the best you'll be getting (excluding Vashj or Kael'thas loots). Basically this sword would be a hinderance on your overall dps compared to Dragonstrike (for rogues 20.12% attack speed increase makes combat potentcy even more effective ). Also even for tanking this is crap ... King's defender will do you good until you drop Mallet of the tides or such. So YES this sword is a waste of time and money when you could be using far more efficient weapons.

As an offtank this weapon is perfect. The hit, agi, and high-top end for a 1.6 make this great for threat gen, as HS hits quite harder than it would with a KD. Of course this isn't the best for mting as the stam, allthough 28 is quite high, is excelled by the mace that drops off lurker by 5, and it has no armor, as oppose to KD. Threat gen went from 860tps with KD to 910 with blazefury. Also a highly recommened offhand for a fury warrior/rogue. But really it would be wise to arena for the offhand and get another profession to make more useful things for your charachter/guild.

Decent sword, more fit for a tanking warrior than a rogue since at 1.6 speed, a sword rogue is better off with the Latro's or Merciless Gladiator's Quickblade (
https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32027
) in his or her offhand (similar DPS, faster speed) and a slower, higher damage sword for his or her main hand.
The speed however helps with a prot warriors aggro and rage generation.

Veryfied!I saw a warrior having Blazefury on his mainhand and Bladeguard on offhand. But of course he must have crafted Fireguard->Blazeguard then another Fireguard, then he upgraded the Blazeguard to Blazefury and then his Fireguard to another Blazeguard.I think it rocks on a dps-fury warrior and it's a very nice idea to have these 2 until you get another better weapon...

Crafted this weapon as a tanking weapon with Mongoose enchant, and I definitely haven't regretted it. Superb for generating threat, and while it is a sidegrade/downgrade defensively it's extremely useful on threat-sketchy fights and I have chosen it as my primary weapon for the most part. Plus, it's fun to throw on a spiteblade and put this in my offhand whenever I want to DPS something, even as protection.

If you for some reason want to dual wield the Master Swordsmith one-handers, there's no longer any need to craft a "downgraded" version of this weapon.
As of Patch 2.4.2, Blazefury is now a one-handed none-unique weapon, which means you can dual wield it. Swordsmiths rejoice!
Of course, this also goes for the other Master Weaponsmith one-handers, so if you're an axesmith or a hammersmith you can run around with 2xDragonstrike or 2xWicked Edge of the Planes. Sweet!

Hm. I think the only thing that could make this weapon better is some Str/AP, or a socket. Hell, the glowy eye spot just above the hilt on it looks like somewhere you would put a gem. I am seriously pleased they removed the 'unique' status on it, as I like to dual wield fast weapons on my fury warrior.

What's the recommended enchant for Blazefury? +20 Strength? Or mongoose? I'd guess strength.
Also, what do you guys think about Blazefury vs. Kings Defender and/or Blazefury vs. Suneater. I own all three but I'll refrain from expressing my opinion until this post has some replies (I'm still in need of an enchant).

2 quick questions for you rogues out there...
For sword specs, is it better to have a slow main hand or quick main hand? Or does it depend on spec. If so, what would be best for Combat Sword.
How does the Blazefury compare to the PVP arena weapons? Seems like Season 3 and 4 (even 2) are better than this.

Currently have Fireguard, and am farming my way towards Vindicator's Brand. When i get that i'll try get 375 blacksmithing, then begin farming the mats for this.

The only chance most people will have to make this are if they fit the following conditions:
1. Got 300 Blacksmithing before hitting Level 60.
2. Are in a well organised High End Raiding Guild, most of the items to make this are BOP and only drop in top class instances, for this one in particular I wouldn't doubt if the "Unknown Items" to make them only drop in one of the raid instance.
Now why you might want this:
Tanks
Since the unveiling of Naxxramas, Blizzard has been keen to change the way in which tanking weapons are designed, they no longer feature the defense which we had all become accustomed to whilst tanking with our Quel'Serrars or Spineshatters.
Tanking weapons now consist of primarily significant amounts of stamina, an obviously important tanking stat and hit rating, due to the increased chance of missing a mob when tanking. The application of the addition agility to this weapon is another major tanking bonus, providing 0.9% dodge, 0.9% crit and 36 armor value. Blizzard is now using agility to improve most tanking gears now as they realised that with the little damage tanks are taking due to their massize defense and armor that their rage production has been hindered, by applying agility for addition crit chance this means the rage production can be balanced with the mass rage boosts warriors get from scoring a critical hit.
The speed of this weapon makes for a very effective weapon to tank with as it allows threat production easier with a faster heroic strike spam.
Hunters:
I know the everlasting joke of "Hunter weapon" will always come up, but considering the stats on this weapon it is more designed for the use of a real melee class. It is more likely that Blizzard has many other weapons which would be more designed for the stats that hunters require, most likely something along the lines of a Two Hander such as the hunter quest in MC and Onyxia etc. The melee damage from this weapon would be of no use to a hunter as the instances you would have to be in to make this you would be following the normal approach as previous instances when you were at the back shooting, making melee attacks negatory.
Rogues:
Mainly the same reasons as for the tanks, good stamina, good dps, good speed for an off-hand, lots of agility for addition attack power and crit. Just be aware that there may still be better with more agility and crit on them.

To make the previous version of this sword you need the stage1 weapon and primal nether, primal nether are rare drops on heroic mode 5 man dungeons. It would be a good guess to say that Nether Vortex are rare drops from 25 man instances, so basically, to get a stage3 weapon you are going to have to spend a lot of time raiding 25 mans. ;p
Also, this weapons looks absolutely insane. :)

I just crafted this on the Arathnor server (screen shot coming). It cost me about 1000G to make the Fireguard another 1000G to upgrade to Blazeguard and another 1000G to upgrade to this Blazefury. It is a sweet weapon but i may have been better off just keeping the money and buying a Epic flying mount(+2000G) and PVPing for my weapons. IDK maybe I'll make another one - lol. To each his own.

It's true that this weapon is too fast for MH for a rogue.. and even as an offhand you might even consider it too slow..
But as for furywarriors weaponspeed only matters if you're using WW or cleave, since no other "dualwield-skills" are affected by attackspeed (heroic strike is actually better with faster weapons)
someone mentioned that you get low crits even with impale. yes that's true.. you'd get alot higher crits with a slower weapon.. BUT.. your attackspeed would be slower..
(Impale increases critdmg by 20% which means dps*(crit%*1,2)=true dps)
(not exactly correct i know.. only counts "white dmg" but the fomula looks almost the same for extra attacks like sinister strike and such.. but for most rogueskills you'd have to add the attackspeed to it.. warriors are different since only cleave, MS and ww are affected by attackspeed)
faster weapons generaly means lower crits.. but what does high crits matter if your attackspeed is too low to keep up the dps?
when using heroic strike faster weapons is alot better since you dont generate any rage from the heroic strike dmg.. (It's like a hidden extra ragecost, 15+ the rage you gain from each attack)
this is the best weapon you can have in MH as a furywarrior in single target dps.. for multitarget dps you should go arms and use 2h.
So what would be the best weapon for a fury warrior?
Offhandspeed makes only a slight difference, faster weapons evens out the rage generation while slower weapons give the same amount of rage over time but with greater portions less frequently.
mainhandspeed makes alot of difference while using multitargetskills like WW and cleave or when using attacks that deal weapondmg like MS.
heroic strike is an exeption since it's affected by attackspeed and it deals wpndmg plus a fixed amount. also considering the rage you "lose" from not generating rage with the swing makes faster weapons better.
my conclusion is that faster main hand weapons are alot better at single target dps and slower weapons are better at multitarget dps.
i might've repeated some parts.. sorry about that =/

Every post is saying these weps arent good for fury warriors. It seems to me that a fury warr DW tier 2 & 3 of this wep(not sure if thats possible yet)would have DPS out the ass. Can somebody tell me why thats a bad thing?

For tanking, you want a fast hitting MH weapon for as all you want to do is get more rage, hit the boss fast as you can for much aggro as possible. Tanking with a slow weapon CAN actually sometimes help (as it hits harder) but generally, a fast weapon is ideal for tanking.
For DW Fury DPSing, you want to maximise the damage of your instant weapon dmg based attacks by using a slower, yet harder hitting MH weapon. Something like Talon of Azshara would be generally a better MH weapon for a DW fury warrior whereas I would definitely use this sword on the OH if I had that MH.
For tanking though, I would gladly call this one of the best, if not THE best, aggro holding, tanking weapon ATM.

Blazefury
or
Dragonstrike
The only paladins who will be looking at this is Protection Paladins, because Retribution will be using two handers and Holy probably uses like "Q-Tip of Healing" or something castery. That being said it is my opinion that Blazefury is better then Dragonstrike for Protection Paladins for 4 reasons.
#1: Agility transfers into armor for paladins.
#2: More stamina.
#3:
Reckoning
doubles 4 hits within 8 seconds. Meaning any weapon with a speed over 2 seconds is only going to double 3 hits. Dragonstrike has a speed of 2.70
#4: IT LOOKS AWESOME!
Possible contradictions: Dragonstrike has a haste effect and I am not sure how that would play into reckoning. If anyone has played with that please reply.

Well I think it's wonderful for everyone here to be saying "sure... I'll reroll Blacksmithing, make a Blazfury, use it in my offhand, whatever..."
Anyone taking this kind of approach to this kind of item needs a slap. You have absolutely no idea how hard it will be to get this weapon, on top of getting to 375 Blacksmith skill, as well as competing with others for Primal Nethers etc for the lower versions.
Unless you are the MT of a constantly raiding guild, at this moment in time you can kiss this baby goodbye. Crafting this is no walk in the park; the MT of the biggest guild on my server only got his a fortnight or so ago...
I myself have crafted both Fireguard and Drakefist Hammer (rerolled weaponsmith specialisations), and am currently wondering which to upgrade. I constantly run heroics/normal instances, and so far have only 4 Primal Nether, and have seen 10 drop. I have 15 days played at level 70... do the maths.
Upgrading to the Blazeguard will be a difficult task... you shouldn't be worrying or even considering this sword.
That's my rant over... needed to get it out in the open.

FURY WARRIORS ARE NOT THE SAME AS ROGUES! the ONLY fury attacks we have that are based on weapon damage are whirlwind and cleave! and those are only used when hitting multiple targets, which isn't that often. this is the best MAIN HAND weapon for a fury warrior, the only stat we really need is the highest DPS we can possibly get, nothing else matters! Bloodthirst and other talents are based on ATTACK POWER which comes from strength or +AP gear. also if you use AOE attacks as your main attacks in a line up you will fail misserably and break all the sheeps, shackles and saps around you constantly.

I am OT for my guild and I have 4/5 vortex for this weapon, we got 1 vortex three weeks ago in TK. Last night we got 3 off trash on the way to lurker in SSC boiling the water. So the drop rate is completely screwy, you can go weeks without getting 1 or 3 in 5 minuets off trash mobs.
UPDATE- I got 5/5 and made my weapon... I <3 it!
If you want this weapon you will need to get into a progressive raiding guild that runs SSC or TK, or you will NEVER see this. I dont know if anyone has asked but yes you lose you enchant everytime you upgrade the weapon.
One other side note- You need to have your BS maxed out and have the T2 version before you go to TK or SSC, this makes it very easy to get priority over anyone else in the raid because most have no use for nether vortex until the SSC and TK patterns and plans start dropping. GL ALL

prot spec moose warrior
droppped hammersmithing for swords, for this baby. currently got blazeguard and 3 vortexs. mongoose is the ench i have and only one i would choose. agi is more important for the increase to dodge, crits are nice as well ofc. its somewhere around 4-5% inc to dodge on proc, its possible to repeatedly proc itself and i will definately have it redone when i get the last two vortexs.
for what is essentially a free weapon after you create the first one this is hands down the easiest and best tank weapon to get.
yes kings is nice, the drop rate isnt.
and depending on preference this is equal to or better than the mallet of the tides, less stam -> has agi. armour on a weap is too small to care about.
and as mentioned above this baby is an awesome offhand dps weapon.

When you consider that with the latest patch that anyone can now make this weapon before even stepping into Karazhan, nothing else compares. It is superior to everything until you can raid SSC. This is an excellent sword for protection warriors. It has plenty of everything you want to tank with (stamina, agility and +hit) plus high DPS. It is a great speed for constant, high aggro and rage generation. There are a few weapons with defence and stamina on them but unless you really need that defence to get to 490 defence, its best to go with a weapon that will generate aggro consistantly.
If you absolutely NEED a little bit of defence, use these weapons as they drop:
King's Defender
-Karazhan
Mallet of the Tides
-SSC
The Unbreakable Will
-Hyjal
The Brutalizer
-Black Temple
Other weapons to consider:
cleaver of the unforgiving
-AT (best for ORCS, human warriors would do better with Blazefury due to +5 base sword/mace expertise)
Speaking of expertise ratings, What you want is high enough rating to reduce the chance of a boss parrying your attack, which is more likely as the boss is higher level than you are. Although at first glance Brutalizer appears better than unbreakable will, HUMAN warriors take note: That 5.3% expertise is nullified JUST by picking up a mace or a sword. For ORCS, the brutalizer is WAY above anything else, HUMANS
Mallet of the Tides
or
The Unbreakable Will
is the best.
Back to Blazefury: I rate it as:
Human tank: 3rd best
All other tanks: 5th best
!T3 crafted maces or axes are not good tanking weapons!
maces: (haste rating=BAD)
axes: (no tanking stats)
both maces and axes are slow! BAD!
If you are primarily going to be a DPS warrior or rogue, go with maces or axes, tanking you want this sword.

Got Blazefury yesterday thanks to patch 2.4 - the x5 nether vortex were obtainable through AH and heroic badges (15 heroic badges per nether vortex).
Once a weapon only serious raiding guilds could get their hands on - due to the rarity of the nether vortex required - Blazefury is now a much more accessible weapon.
For tanking I can only say this weapon is nothing short of godly... it's the ultimate threat machine for me and a weapon that now everyone MT warrior with a BS skill of 375 can get their hands on... with a bit of hard grinding.
