Xbox has joined PlayStation in condemning Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby after a
scathing report by The Wall Street Journal
earlier this week, with Xbox head Phil Spencer stating in an email to staff that he and the leadership team were “disturbed and deeply troubled by the horrific events and actions” at Activision Blizzard and further commenting that “this type of behavior has no place in our industry.”
As
reported by Bloomberg
, the Xbox boss is also reported as saying that he will take action, and will be "evaluating all aspects of our relationship with Activision Blizzard and making ongoing proactive adjustments," although no specifics have been shared. Whatever the case, it's becoming increasingly clear that nearly everyone outside of the Activision Blizzard boardroom has turned against Bobby Kotick.

In an email to staff seen by Bloomberg News, Phil Spencer said he and the gaming leadership team are “disturbed and deeply troubled by the horrific events and actions” at Activision Blizzard Inc. “This type of behavior has no place in our industry,” Spencer wrote.
In response to this scathing criticism from Xbox and PlayStation, an Activision Blizzard spokesperson tells Bloomberg "we respect all feedback from our valued partners" and "we are committed to the work of ensuring our culture and workplace are safe, diverse, and inclusive."
Spencer joins PlayStation chief Jim Ryan, who was
also critical of Activision Blizzard's inadequate response
in an email to employees, stating that he and his leadership were “disheartened and frankly stunned to read” that Activision “has not done enough to address a deep-seated culture of discrimination and harassment.” Given PlayStation's close ties with Activision and Blizzard Entertainment in particularly, supporting titles such as Call of Duty and the Diablo series, this could represent additional outside pressure on the company and against the long-time Activision CEO.

“We outreached to Activision immediately after the article was published to express our deep concern and to ask how they plan to address the claims made in the article,” he wrote. “We do not believe their statements of response properly address the situation.”
