Welcome to the Deaths of Chromie scenario guide, in which we’ll help you save the cutest member of the Bronze Dragonflight from her assassination attempts! The scenario is a fun maximum-level solo encounter, designed for all specializations, in which you’ll traverse the timeways to save Chromie.
The Chromie Scenario sends you through multiple timeways to defeat Chromie's attackers. As you gain reputation with Chromie by killing mobs in the scenario, you will unlock more powerful abilities for Chromie to help speed up your run.
Unlike past solo scenarios like Withered Army Training, you do not need to worry about gearing up--your gear is scaled up to 1000, and your player level is increased as well to 112. You can also fly inside this scenario--unusual for instanced content.
Each scenario attempt lasts 15 minutes and the ultimate goal is to defeat 8 timeways in one attempt. Progress can be sped up through obtaining items that grant extra time, buffs from Chromie, and items which auto-complete a timeway threat.
The title is awarded from the
achievement - reach the "Timelord" friendship level (maximum rank) with Chromie.

Players can earn incidental amounts of
for completing Chromie quests, and through
.
There is no reward for completing the scenario without using Stolen Time. The introductory series of quests starts from Khadgar in Dalaran for level 110 players.
These quests are not time-gated, simply do them one after the other:
: Investigate Chromie's vision of her death in Wyrmrest.
: The first attempt was short-lived, so you head back to Wyrmrest and talk about various threats with the Wyrmrest emissaries.
: Third time's a charm! Now when you head back, you can talent Chromie and start investigating the threats.
Each quest awards 0
.
On your early Chromie runs, you'll focus on completing introductory quests, unlocking the portals and grinding reputation. Queue up for the scenario at the top of Wyrmrest Temple.
When you first try the scenario, you'll only have the four dragonshrines accessible to complete. You'll gather some materials, summon a boss, and then get a chronoshard which unlocks a portal to another time period. When you re-enter the scenario in the future, you can skip right to summoning the boss in each shrine and save some time.
Since you can skip to the end boss in a shrine after you complete the dragonshrine once, don't stress about completing
all in one go the first time. Unlock one dragonshrine, explore a bit, kill trash for some reputation, and relax.

You'll also notice Wrathion hanging out by the Obsidian Dragonshrine - he claims he's harmless though.
Portals can be accessed via the top of Wyrmrest Temple. They are unlocked when you defeat the related Dragonshrine for the first time.
There are items from
which will help you complete each chronoportal challenge.
Back in Cataclysm, Chromie periodically appeared during the
daily. She's run into some trouble, so you'll have to fend off four waves of fiery mobs, three minion, and one mini-boss waves.
The minion waves are stunned by Chromie. Attacking them will break the stun, this can be used to stagger the wave.
After the fourth wave,

To complete the quests you will run back and forth around Stratholme completing those quests.
You can buy the items for future quests pre-emptively, so you don't need to purchase from a single NPC more than once.
Movement speed abilities are good here as you’ll be running back and forth to purchase items from vendors, and then run through the entire city.

This portal is unlocked by Completing the Obsidian Dragonshrine.
You start at the end of the instance and have to work your way to the front.
There is a portal going from the Well of Eternity area to the Queen Azshara area, and it can only be activated when you are out of combat. So try to avoid pulling the demonic mobs on the way and take note of the

.
This portal is unlocked by completing the Emerald Dragonshrine.
Once all eight portals are unlocked, you can work on the speedrun portion of the scenario: complete all eight segments in one attempt.
: Stop all eight attacks on Chromie in one attempt in the Deaths of Chromie scenario.
It is much easier to complete the speedrun when you are maximum friendship with Chromie. You will have all her abilities available to choose between, as well as passive perks like more damage, health, and movement speed for your character. Remember that you can fly in this scenario!
Here are the abilities which emphasize combat enhancements, reaching bosses quickly, and procs to speed up parts of the scenario:
Blessing of the Bronze Dragonflight
: Instantly completes a dragonshrine encounter.
: Increased chances at getting Sands of Time from kills, which in turn leads to more opportunities to extend the encounter duration or get combat buffs.
: Sands of Time rewards Keepsake Boxes, which contain Beacons that skip to the final boss for a portal
.
Acceleration: 20% movement speed bonus is powerful for getting between Wyrmrest Accord and each dragon shrine.
With this setup, you’ll start with a portal encounter and take care to choose the Bronze Dragonflight and Keepsake Boxes options from Sands of Time. Hopefully, you’ll get lucky with Sands of Time procs and be able to skip to the final boss of most portals, while the bronze dragon takes care of the dragonshrine encounters.
Talents that assist with movement speed are useful, especially if you must complete the Culling of Stratholme and Well of Eternity portals.
The following speedrun tips have been submitted by
Kaeotic
. Thank you for sharing these tips with Wowhead:
So after many attempts, I finally completed the scenario with only the first two buffs active as a mage, so I figured I'd share some tips for those who want to try to finish sooner rather than later.
After writing this up, there shouldn't be any spoilers for those who are doing the scenario for the first few times.
Shrines:
Order: Emerald->Blue->Ruby->Obsidian (fly up and kill yourself at Obsidian to return to entrance).
Use the Sands of Time as soon as you get them. If you get a Shrine clear before Ruby and no Portal clears, just reset the scenario.
Kill the rare Gigantaurs outside each shrine before you kill the main boss.
Check each shrine for a Time Chest, only one spawns in each shrine per run (at least at Blue shrine). As far as I can tell:
Emerald has 2: (63.71,73.53 in the water) and (65.77,73.34).
Blue has 2: (56.54,68.72) and (54.42, 65.03 on the platform).
Ruby has 2: (48.76, 49.44) and (45.11,47.42).
Obsidian chests are on the right-hand side of the cave.
Portals:
Order: Hyjal->Well of Eternity->Andorhal->Strat
Culling of Stratholme and the Battle of Andorhal take the longest and should be skipped if possible (must be skipped if you want to do it with current buffs).
Otherwise, there are time chests in at least one location in each (they don't always spawn):
Culling has 2: (61.05,28.49 ground floor) and (44.16,43.77).
Andorhal has 2: (39.57, 68.15) and (47.47, 68.28).
Mount Hyjal has 2: (33.85, 98.27) and (36.6,96.18)
Well of Eternity has 2: (26.62,37.23 second zone) and unknown.
One final note for the Well of Eternity specifically, you can stick to the right after running in, you can avoid almost all adds except the first doomguard. Assuming you mount up right after and continue moving, you should be able to avoid the abyssals. If you're going to aggro something, aggro a doomguard, since they do less damage and die faster than infernals.
Overall:
If you just get a lot of time increases and damage reductions, you're not going to finish on time.
Your best ones are Portal clears and damage increases.
If you're lucky, you'll get 2 sands from each rare, 1 sand from each boss, and 2-3 sands from each time chest (with an average of 3-4 per run).
For myself: I received the Portal clears for Strat and Andorhal, had 4 damage increases, 1 damage reduction, 300 seconds stolen (didn't use any).
Players can earn Friendship with
. You earn Reputation by killing mobs inside the scenario, as well as through
.
Friendship is needed to select advanced talents for Chromie. The friendship levels are:
Whelpling
Temporal Trainee
Timehopper
Chrono-Friend
Bronze Ally
Epoch-Mender
Timelord
While leveling up the friendship with Chromie, select the Tier 3 ability
Chrono Charisma
. This ability grants 100% more reputation with Chromie in the last 5 minutes of the encounter, and 300% more reputation with Chromie in the last minute.
Make sure you have
activated as well (random option from
, which can stack) when this buff is active, and if you have no other use for
, save them for the last 5 minutes of the encounter. These
can have reputation options to give you 50-200 reputation with Chromie.
Chromie comes with a set of talents, similar in form to your Class Hall's
Advancement Tree
, in which you choose between a set of talents and those associated with later tiers require more effort.
These talents have active effects that can help you speed run the encounter, gain reputation, or work towards collection items like pets.
When all seven tiers are acquired, your character will have gained 65% damage, healing, health, movement speed, and mounted movement speed.
Abilities are chosen before starting the encounter. They cannot be changed once the encounter starts, but can be switched before every new attempt.
Tier 1
: Chromie can freeze an enemy and all enemies within 5 yards of them for 3 sec. 18 sec cooldown
: Movement and mounted speed is increased by 20%. Useful when traversing long distances (Stratholme, Well of Eternity, getting between Dragonshrines)
Tier 1 Passive: Bonus: Damage and healing increased by 5%.
Tier 2 - Requires Temporal Trainee Reputation
: Chromie becomes a tank, increasing threat by 200%. Chromie also gains a damage bonus that scales with her current health, increasing her damage by up to 100%, but she loses 2% of her maximum health every second when above 50% health. This damage bonus is increased to up to 500% if you are a healer. This talent is useful if you are trying this scenario as a healer.
: Chromie becomes a healer, gaining the following healing abilities:
Foresight: Chromie sees into the future and reduces the damage you take from the next 3 attacks made against you by 90%.
Regeneration: Allies within 10 yards restore 1% of their maximum health every sec.
Rewind Time: Restores an ally's health to its highest point in the last 8 seconds.
Tier 2 Passive: Health increased by 5%.
Tier 3 - Requires Timehopper Reputation & 1 Day of Research
: Your reputation gain with Chromie is increased by 100% during the final 5 min and by 300% during the final 1 min. Useful if you are not at max reputation level yet.
: Chromie's damage taken is reduced by 20%.
Tier 3 Passive: Movement and mounted speed increased by 5%.
Tier 4 - Requires Chrono-Friend Reputation & 1 Day of Research
: Chromie reveals nearby treasure chests. These are naturally visible without the ability, but she'll bring them up on your minimap.
: You have a greater chance to earn a Bronze Drake from Sands of Time. This drake will instantly clear a dragonshrine for you. Useful if you are working on the speed run.
Tier 4 Passive: Bonus: Damage and healing increased by 10%.
Tier 5 - Requires Bronze Ally Reputation & 1 Day of Research
: Increases your chance to find Sands of Time from killing enemies by 100%. Useful for speed runs, reputation gains, extending the duration, or acquiring the battle pets.
Tier 5 Passive: Health increased by 10%.
Tier 6 - Requires Epoch-Mender Reputation & 2 Days of Research
: You have a greater chance to earn a Keepsake Box from Sands of Time. Keepsake Boxes contain powerful items that significantly reduce the difficulty of Chronoportal challenges. Useful for the speed run, as it lets you skip to the final boss of a portal challenge.
: Unlock portals from Wyrmrest to each of the dragonshrines. Useful for the speed run, as it removes travel time to the dragon shrines.
Tier 6 Passive: Movement and mounted speed increased by 10%.
Tier 7 - Requires Timelord Reputation & 5 Days of Research
: Chromie can summon a dragon that crashes into your foes, dealing Physical damage.
Tier 7 Passive: Bonus: Damage, healing, health, movement, and mounted speed all increased by 50%.

Any clue if these will be completable by healing specs or healers interested in doing these will have to switch to dps or tank spec?

any gear or anything to advance my character in this chromie thing?
Seems pretty much a waste of time if there is no reward to advance character.

The first few times though the scenario I didn't bother with the bosses I just cleared trash and looked for chests, found 3 in the black dragonshrine 1 in the red dragonshrine. Once I was able to unlock the tank/healer trait I went back for bosses and downed them most of the time on the first try. now i'm 50% though Chrono-Friend and just finished killing the four shrine bosses in one go

Best I can do is scrape by 7/8, guess i gotta wait for the research, may as well farm for the mount in the meantime

Just a heads up...
The items to skip parts of the chronoportals are ONE USE, and they disappear when you either finish or time runs out.

Any thoughts on which shrine(s) is/are the best to farm at?

In Dragonblight, there are a few rare mobs (magnataur) that drop sands; they're quick kills. I'm not racing the clock right now since it's going to take time to get all the talents open for Chromie, so I'm just focusing on farming rep, and making sure I get all the sands I can is the best way to do that.

Finished today 8/8,
I want to add the obsidian chests are inside the cavern keep right once you enter you'll find them, theres 3 chests so you really want to get them.
There's also 5 magnataurs rares.
1 magnataur rare per shrine that you want to kill to get sands of time and also 1 just under wyrmrest temple.
They can hurt a bit so watchout for that.
If you keep getting the bonus chests the guide already got in + what I added you should be able to finish 8/8 hoping you get Andorhal or Stratholme skip. I personnaly got both so I ended up clearing with 3+- min over.
I personally wouldn't also recommend to get rep after you unlock the first talents that you can unlock immediatly , except if you're lucky it should take you a while to finish this and by then you'll have the max rep.
I also recommend to make chromi healer if you're a dps. Personnaly as unholy dk I needed it, bosses/rares hit really hard and she basicly can fully heal you.

Chromie keeps dying on that cryptlord boss thingy in Stratholme, and I dont understand why..
I'm running as Prot just to clear through and get all the stuff done so I can start trying to beat the clock, so I know I have aggro, but it doesnt seem to help. She takes huge amounts of damage from I dont know what.. Any help?

Chrono Charisma takes 24 hours to learn. So, seems to be useless since you can get full reputation with Crhomie long before that time.

I play as war prot and I'm confused about the second tiers of talents... I mean, I don't need her to be a healer at all ( I have more than enough passive health regen ) and I obviously don't need her to be a tank either. Seems like a lose-lose choice actually. Are there any other tanks attempting the challenge here ? What did you choose there ?

Stratholme Tip and Trick the first couple of times that you run it.
1) Get the first quest from the innkeeper
2) circling from the left, go to ALL of the shopkeepers, and BUY everything that they sell that is green - EVERYTHING
3) note ... they are all unique(1) except the jerky which is unique(2) ... buy 2 of them ... aka EVERYTHING
4) go turn in - and you wont have to run around again
5) oh yah, skip the armor/weapon shop - they have nothing green to sell

Am I the only one hugely dissapointed and a bit disgusted by this?
1. It's mind-blowingly boring. And I love gathering and battling pets, so just think how actually boring it is in a normal person's scale.
2. It's not even new content, just some old stuff with perfume sprinkled on it.
3. Oh dear Vometia, the ancient Ankh-Morporkian goddess of being sick, this is so boring.
4. Chromie is a paper tank.
5. It's not even worth doing, I find these transmog sets pretty dull.
6. It's clearly designed just to keep you stuck to your screen for hours, doing pretty much nothing even slightly interesting to get pretty much nothing at the end of it.
7. Did I mention already the boredom part?
8. I hate when Blizz does stuff like that. Hey, come all, it's NEW! Waste a couple of hours of your gametime and your life on it, before you realize how stupid, boring and pointless it is.
9. Sometimes it wasn't clear what to do next. Even more time wasted, yay.
10. I have wasted two mindless hours on that, finished everything, opened up a ton of wallets, of course did not get the only thing that was interesting to me in all this festival of tedious boredom. (Yes, pets.)
So.. thank you Blizz, but NO thank you.
I'm just gonna buy the pets from AH and try to forget that this abomination even exists.

Done 8/8 as an assa rogue, day 1.
Route - magnataur next to green - treasure at green - green boss - check blue treasure - blue boss - check 2d pblue treasure - magnataur next to blue - magnataur next to temple - magnataur next to red - treasure next to red - red - magnataure next to black. (back with chest). Then i suicided to res at the temple and open the chests there. if you didnt get 1 epic chest to skip a scenario - you can reset. If you got it - try skipping strat and it will be easy (somewhy andoral was pretty fast for me - also i collect 4-5 explosives and solo target the cannon)
Tip: Fly up in Hijal, the 3 chest spawn points are real close - to the left or right of the entrance or on the highest point of the instance - a ledge with 3 dogs
Ussal order from fastest to slowest: Hijal->Well->Andoral->Strat
My order: Hijal=Andoral->Well->Strat
Also i didnt get the item to skip strat till i did it once - so be sure to do all 8 shrines before going for the speedrun.
Tldr: rng 2 skipping instances and do it.
Buff Priority:
-Chest for shrine skipping
-Bronse Drake
-Dps buff
-Tanky buff
-Speed buff=Time
Rogue tips (shoulders+DoS do wonders in hijal where you can clear the 1 and 4 wave not as slow as usual. Leeching poison helps a lot. Boots+elis trink make the vendetta go off cd every shrine. muti+envenom+DoS kills a magnataur)

Hey Blizzard
Logged in to start this new Chromie Quest, went to Wyrmrest, got to the top, and found myself in a PVP zone where I had Wyrmrest Guards on me with the wonderful advantage of also receiving constant knockbacks pushing me off the side eventually. Super. Really enjoyable. You have this whole thing tuned perfectly. Promptly logged off and did something else.
Looking forward to experiencing todays new content in a few months once the enjoyment of this wears off. Thanks for making this a great new patch. Anything else new to do?

My experience with this scenario as a druid has had various mixed results with each spec. I personally recommend that if you have a healing spec, go healer and make Chromie the tank because she will do more damage as a tank than you will EVER do as a dps. I had the worst trouble getting through Anderhal. I died frequently in dps spec and my damage in tank spec was too low to make it through the 15 minute mark, so after trying out resto spec and keeping Chromie topped off as best as I could for the 500% damage buff she gets, Chromie completely ate through everything in great time. I highly recommend doing this scenario in a healing spec if you can manage it.

Well of Eternity offers a challenge not included in the showcase video here: The Felguards in the forest before the first portal charges and stuns you for 1 sec when they engage you. As a DH I leapt at them with Felblade, but even then they stunned me. Makes rounding the entire forest up and AOE'ing them down in one go as is shown here impossible. at least for me. Also, I stuck to the right and skipped 1 Doomguard and all of the Abominations. However, a Felhound attached to that Doomguard kept perpetually spawning and aggroing my Chromie(which I had on healing stance), keeping me in combat until eventually Chromie died(from previously taken dmg.) I assume the Felhound at least was a bug, but even so, an annoying one.

Fun fact: It's reverse timewalking.
So just like in timewalking, some old gear might be usable again (on the other hand, sockets are not as valuable due to much higher baseline stats). Some things to consider:
- rings and necks with main stat. If your spec prefers it over secondaries, just get one from older content.
- LFR item sets - many people doing only LFR might be obliged to ditch them after getting 40-50+ ilvl upgrade. Ilvl does not matter in here
- WoD sets - as above, if it's good one, take it with you!
- all items with special effects. All of them
- Legendary rings (Maalus increases damage by whole 3% at 112. That's 3% more than your average ring), and their epic counterparts (untested proc, but it should still be more than other proc-less rings)
- Unfortunately, MoP legendary cloak was only item I tested that was not scalled up to 1000
- Trinkets, yes! Pretty trinkets! Squawk! There are lot of trinkets with cool effects that are worth considering with ability to scale them up to relevant Ilvl, take your pick
- Speed gear. I admit, I was starting to get a bit irritated at myself for flooding bank with speed items. But you can take them with you in this scenario, create set for them for quick switching, and have a lot of movement speed without losing out on that much of damage (or not at all, depending how big is your collection of speed items)

Does anyone have a good workaround for healing this? BM/WW don't do enough damage to beat the timer, but with healing I can hit the last portal on one and a half minute left and then fail as Hyjal is impossible as a healer. I'm relying on Chromie as my tank and damage, but instead of doing her job she just freezes all the mobs in place. How is this helpful when YOU'RE THE DAMAGE? I can break her trance but tagging all the mobs... and then they incinerate me before Chromie can get a hit in. So I swap to BM for the last leg and then they incinerate Chromie instead. Anyone have any ideas? I'd love to finish this!

First, I want to mention that this is on LIVE servers. So it is definitely doable at this point in time. Also, I did not do this on PTR so this scenario was brand new to me when I first started it.
What I did first, after realizing that there was no way I could complete the scenario my first few times in, I proceeded to build my rep with Chromie. From every
Sands of Time
I looted, I always chose any option that boosted my rep. Once I cleared all 4 dragonshrines, looted the chests at each one, and killed all 5 rares, I reset the instance and repeated until I was at the Timelord rank with Chromie. After this, I went back in and discovered the best route for me to take.
Once you zone into the scenario, you can select Chromie's talents before you begin. The first 3 talents that I chose are
Acceleration
,
Rapid Recovery
and
Dragon's Determination
. Tier 4 talent is currently being learned now, and i chose
Blessing of the Bronze Dragonflight
.
After choosing Chromie's talents, start the scenario. In front of you are 4 NPC's, one of which will have a quest. Pick up that quest, because that will be 3 free
Sands of Time
that you get from killing the specified boss. In order from left to right, the NPC's will give quests to kill the following bosses.
Chromie - Zorathides (Obsidium)
Alexstrasza - Talar Icechill (Ruby)
Lord Itharius - Thalas Vylethorn (Emerald)
Kalecgos - Void Gargantuan (Azure)
It does not matter what quest is there for you on any given scenario run, because you have to kill the bosses at all 4 dragonshrines. Even if you use a
Bronze Drake
to kill
Zorathides
in the Obsidian Dragonshrine, and that is where your quest is for, you will still get quest credit.
From here, I flew south towards the Emerald Dragonshrine. Before going down into the shrine, make sure to kill the rare (Iceshatter) who patrols near the large skeleton on the cliff. His patrol route is from 62, 73 to 60, 71. After killing him I went into the shrine and killed
Thalas Vylethorn
. Directly behind him, in the pond, under the chin of the statue, is a treasure chest (63, 73), containing
Sands of Time
. There is also another treasure chest spawn point in this shrine, and it is directly to the east of the one in the pond, behind a few trees at the base of the cliff (65, 73). Only one of these 2 chests will be spawned per scenario.
Next is the Azure Dragonshrine. As I am flying to it, I check to see if I can see the rare (Bloodfeast) along the cliff. His patrol path is very large (58, 65 to 54, 61) and covers the northern cliff as well as most of the eastern cliff. If you cannot see him on the eastern side of the shrine, you can kill him after the boss,
Void Gargantuan
. There are 2 treasure chest spawn points in this shrine, also only one of the two chests will be spawned in this shrine. The first is on the northwestern platform (54, 65) and the other is in the southeast corner of the shrine (56, 68) and this second one will have two adds to kill before looting it.
Once the Azure shrine is done, head towards the base of Wyrmrest Temple, and find another rare (Bonesunder) patrolling the west side of the tower. His route is from 57, 50 to 57, 57. After he is dead, head over to the Ruby Dragonshrine. Along the eastern side cliffs, another rare, Dregmar Runebrand, will patrol from 52, 50 to 57, 57. Kill him, and then head into the shrine to kill the boss,
Talar Icechill
, and loot a treasure chest. One chest is located near the entrance to the tree (48, 49) and the other is in the northwestern corner of the shrine (45, 47). Both of these chests will have three adds to kill before looting it.
Head back to Wyrmrest Temple, and turn in the quest (unless it was for the Obsidian Draginshrine). At this point, if you have not gotten any
Bronze Drake
from your
Sands of Time
so far, then your best option would be to reset it. You will need at least one
Bronze Drake
to use for the Obsidian Dragonshrine to save time so you don't have to go all the way out there. For those that want to go out there, the rare (Icefist) patrols the path to the east, from 43, 29 to 43, 34. There are also 3 treasure chests inside the cave, stay along the right side of the cave to find them at the end of the path (There is alot of trash to kill along the way).
Now for the
Sands of Time
. Always use them as soon as you get them. They can be used while moving, while mounted, and while in combat. If you ever see the option for
Time-Lost Keepsake Box
, you need to always pick this one, as it will best help you in the long run. The items that come from this can be used to complete a portal scenario almost instantly, or take a shortcut to get to the final boss much faster. The items are as follows:
Cenarion Circle Documents
- This is used to instantly take out the cannon and complete the portal. When you enter this portal with the item, there is an NPC walking in the room you zone into named Adrine Towhide. Talk to him, and click on the two speech bubbles. After you talk to him, run out to the entrance of the building and accept the quest from Chromie before Adrine Towhide makes his way outside. As soon as the NPC is outside, the quest will be completed and you can then turn the quest into Chromie, and take the portal back out to Wyrmrest Temple.
Brimstone Beacon
- This item is used to instantly summon the final boss in Mount Hyjal. You can skip all the waves of adds with this item. To use it,
zone into the portal and run forward to find Chromie. Use this item while near her, and the boss will be summoned. Simply kill him, loot him, and exit back to Wyrmrest Temple.
Stratholme Gate Key
- This item is used to open the gate in The Culling of Stratholme and skip all of the tedious quests and running around, as well as skipping the entire alley full of trash mobs. Upon zoning in, enter the city and take the path to the left toward Market Row (labeled as such on your map). Click on the gates and continue to your left and you will find the boss. Once you kill him all the spider adds will despawn, and you will see Chromie in a spider web near the steps. Click on the web to free her and the exit portal will spawn. Use it to return to Wyrmrest Temple. If you get to Market Row and it is full of spider adds, there is a treasure chest to loot there on the street. Once the chest it looted, the remaining spiders will despawn. This chest is not always there.
Tyrande's Moonstone
- This item is used to take you directly to the boss in the Well of Eternity. Once you land, kill the boss, and run up the stairs behind him to the entrance, click the portal and you will be teleported back to Wyrmrest Temple.
Other choices that are good to take from the
Sands of Time
are
Bronze Drake
(around four or five stacks),
Hide of the Bronze
(around one or two stacks),
Wings of the Bronze
(around one or two stacks), and
Stolen Time
(as many stacks as you can get). When i completed this, I had 20 stacks of
Stolen Time
which equals out to 3 minutes and 20 seconds extra after the timer expired.
Important
- If at any time, while clearing out the first three dragonshrines (Emerald, Azure, and Ruby) you get a
Bronze Drake
option, do NOT use it yet. Hit the X in the upper right corner of the box to save it for now. At this point, all of your
Sands of Time
are going to be stacked up in your bags. Once you clear out Emerald, Azure, and Ruby, you can then use the
Sands of Time
and select the
Bronze Drake
and it will clear out Obsidian for you. This is the best option, seeing as how it takes a lot of time to fly up there to kill that boss. You can then proceed to use all the rest of your
Sands of Time
as you are flying back to Wyrmrest Temple. Make sure you turn in your quest and get your three extra
Sands of Time
.
At this point, if you have not gotten any
Time-Lost Keepsake Box
, your best bet is to reset it. If you have got a few, but none are
Stratholme Gate Key
, your best bet is to reset it. When i completed this run, I was lucky enough to get
Stratholme Gate Key
and
Cenarion Circle Documents
to skip the two time consuming ones. These two seem to be the best ones to get right now, and seems necessary to be able to complete it within the time limit at this time.
I hope this helps a lot of people out there get this completed. Overall, I think I did the scenario about 200 times (not always completing it, sometimes resetting after only 5 minutes) over the past two days before I was able to complete it. If i left anything out, i apologize in advance, but it may also already be mentioned in this guide, so make sure to read the above info.
Edit: Corrected what happens when you use
Tyrande's Moonstone
. Thank you Iankey for correcting me.

Once you've researched a tier of talents, you can change them at any time.

After beating it on my Hunter I decided to do it for a Leather class to get the transmog, here is my list of tips and tricks I found useful:
Know where the chests are. These are pretty important. There is 2 locations in each shrine area (and some in the portals as well).
Kill the Minotaurs rares as they usually drop 2 sands.
You can ride all the way through the 2nd part of Well of Eternity if you have something to drop aggro (Feign Death, Invisibility, Vanish, Night Elf invis, etc).
My preferred route is: Hyjal, Well of Eternity, Grab Quest, Wyrmrest Minotaur, Azure Minotaur, Azure Chest, Emerald Minotaur, Emerald Chest, Emerald Boss, Azure Boss, Ruby Minotaur, Ruby Chest (if the one near the cave, if not do boss first), Ruby Boss, Obsidian Minotaur, Obisidian Boss, Andorhal, Strat. (Hopefully skipping Strat and/or Andorhal).

I just had 8/8 and 5min bonus time, the last objective was "return to present" I clicked the portal in wyrmrest and I left scenario without quest completing itself. What should I do there? Should I stay or what?

you list chest coordinates for each shrine/portal, this comment is specifically for andorhal.
Unless there are horde/ally chest location differences, and you are a horde, your coordinate for 39.57,68.15 is wrong. I dont have full decimals, however i found that chest at 42,72 instead of the listed location.
will edit if I discover more discrepancies.

The part where you suggest to run all the way along the right side for Well of Eternity? Don't suggest that ever again. Doomguards everywhere and they all target Chromie.

In the obsidian shrine, the chests are located inside the cave, respectively at the end of that path you'll see to your right after going in, and on the farthest point west (left of your map). The coordinates for that second one (on the cave's map!) are about 32, 35.

Some notes: Bronze Drake doesn't actually kill the person, it marks the shrine as completed, I had the last Shrine up and was already there but got a drake so i thought I'd pull it and get free sands of time. He just flew in marked as complete and flew away, boss did not die.
If you are about to complete a Chronoportal Challenge and you receive Time-Lost Keepsake Box, DO NOT CHOOSE IT, there's still a chance you get the item that completes that challenge, wait til you complete the challenge then choose it. I was about to kill Cannon had all the parts and i received the scroll to complete it.
The Speed bonus option only increases run speed, not mount speed, so not really good unless you can get a lot of them. I had 8 once and am a shaman, it will stack with ghost wolf so I had 110% run speed.

If you die, you will resurrect where you spawned in in Wyrmrest Temple. You can use this to your advantage if you're a long way from Wyrmrest while clearing the dragonshrines, since killing yourself and respawning can be faster than flying back.

There seems to be a bug with leaving Strat for last. Twice now, while operating on stolen time, Chromie stops right before the bookshelf and won't unlock it making it impossible to move forward.

I have yet to get anything from the Keepsake Box other than the Hyjal completion.
I also note that of the portals, Hyjal is the only one I have completed even once as of yet.
To that end, I strongly suspect that the
迷时纪念品箱子
can *only* drop completion items for those portals that you have actually completed once in the past. So it may be worth it to accept that you're not going to make it and complete each one at least once; that way you can have the other completion items drop for you.

Brief guide for Mistweaver Monk
1. It takes many goes. You have 15 minutes but you don't need to do the whole thing in 15 minutes.
2. As you fail missions, you are also grinding rep with Chromie which makes it easier later. As you advance, Chromie gains abilities which makes life way easier.
3. I am only part of the way through so will update as I complete this instant
4. This is to supplement this amazing guide, so I am just adding bits.
Start with the Emerald Dragonshrine. No issues here, but have Chromie as a tank at the end, and stand way back, healing the little minx. This one is pretty easy
Do the Ruby Dragonshrine next as Azure is a pain in the podex. Again, pretty straightforward.
Next do Obsidian. Straightforward, but also worth turning right when entering the grotto as there are three raidable time thingies up there.
Now do Azure. When attacking Mr Void Gargantuan, it is super easy to die because of the silences he (or she) pumps out. What I did was jump in, immediately slap down the jade serpent statue, and then blast heals at Chromie. I go Renewing Mist, Effuse, Vivify. However, keep moving. When a silence is cast, get out of there immediately, then heal yourself and Chromie.Try to have all the cones of silence together to give yourself room to manoeuvre. You will probably fail a few times, but once you have cracked it, you can move on to part 2.
Culling of Stratholm: Dive in, and pick up the first quest from the pub on the right. You will need to shop around the NPCs. As you redo the scenario, you will learn where everything is, and can buy it in one hit on the first quest. Remember though where you don't have to go, and remember to buy two jerkey items. Next comes the pig part. You have to cross Stratholm killing the NPCs. This is not too hard but time is critical. You then eventually get to the final boss. Be warned. You will be doing well, and think you have cracked it, and he will then drag you close and fire off an AoE cast. Slap on Life Cocoon ASAP, and heal Chromester fast. After this, it is all over bar the fat dragon lady singing.
Mount Hyjal is weirdly easy. Suspiciously easy. Wondering if I have it right in fact. Just pick the fiery beasties off one by one until a bigger boss appears. Pick the bigger boss off. Then suddenly it is all done and I am wondering if that is really it.
I will post more as I complete more.
Keep well and let no-one tell you who to be.

im a 913 prot pala, my recommendation is if u have a good prot offspec or of course main spec then i would go with that, im doing enough dps 1.8-2mil at the end of a boss fight, i never have to worry about healing or anything like that. I havent yet managed to get 8/8 have timelord but not had much luck in terms of portal key drops.
Some of the post here are really helpful, i thought i had everything down but then a few helpful hints came out like chest spawns etc, so def worth reading through quickly just to get a good heads up.
The only thing i havent found out yet is what the booty bay rum is used for had a look around stratholme and couldnt find anything to use it on at all, strange one.
great like scenario though hate gnomes but LOVE chromie, little cutie! WE SHALL SAVE YOU!
hopefully blizzard will implement more stuff like this
EDIT: if u reach the secret door that opens in strath and your timer is low or ended chromie gets stuck so do it before the others

I just completed the timed scenario with 70secs spared and 3 chromie talents. I followed Nobalk's post above but I got Andorhal and Well of Eternity items. I started Stratholme portal with 5min and 30secs left.
Tip for "fast" stratholme (in case you don't get Stratholme Gate Key): buy all the items first and then get all the quests to get the Town Hall Key.
I really enjoyed doing this solo content even if it is somewhat RNG related. We need more of this between patches! :)

902 Fury warrior successfully completed this with only the tier 3 talent unlocked (completely unnecessary, though). Originally, I attempted this as Protection, but Chromie (as a healer) keeps you alive fairly well. I, tragically, failed this with over a minute reaching the last boss a couple attempts earlier when Chromie disappeared on me in Stratholme while nerubians randomly showed up on the way to the end. Here's the sequence I was using.
1.)
Grab quest -> Green Magnataur -> Green Dragonshrine
--Interrupt the Satyr's "Sleep" or you'll lose time fighting him. He typically only got 1 cast off for me. This guy can be stunned.
2.)
Blue Dragonshrine -> Blue Magnataur
--Interrupt the Void Lord's "Voidbolt" as this will save time by locking him out of casting "Looming Darkness". He can also be stunned, interrupting Looming Darkness until its next cast.
3.)
Red Magnataur -> Red Dragonshrine
--The Lich cannot be interrupted or stunned, and she will cast "Deep Freeze" on Chromie after about 10 seconds (About 2s delay before it takes effect). Pull her on top of Chromie to minimize DPS loss.
4.)
Obsidian Magnataur -> Obsidian Dragonshrine
--The Dreadlord can be stunned, so interrupt his infernal cast.
5.)
Check for triple chest in Obsidian Dragonshrine (my first successful run they were there, but not in my final success)
--These aren't required, but they're helpful.
6.)
Kill yourself in the lava. Facing out, step to the right under the pathway you jump from, so Chromie doesn't heal you and kill time.
7.)
Turn in the quest and check your loot. Hopefully, you get an item to clear one of the chronoportals. Clear whichever one you got an item for if you got one.
8.)
From here, I clear either Well of Eternity, or Hyjal.
--For Hyjal, I AoE down everything together on the first two waves, and casually DPS down the third wave. The fourth wave of fire hawks I kill in four sets. They can potentially kill me without defensive cooldowns, so I simply spread my damage c/ds to clear them quickly.
9.)
Well of Eternity is a serious wild card, and the reason is that the first stretch can be cleared very quickly, or agonizingly slow. You have a LOT of RNG variables on this, but it can be overcome. For starters, pulling multiple Doomguards and even 2-3 Infernals together to AoE down is NOT a bad idea if their pathing sequences are terrible. Attempting to walk by, only to backtrack because they were aggroed one by one is a waste of time. Chromie can also solo a stray felhound perfectly fine as a healer, so it's unnecessary to help her kill them unless you run the risk of aggroing a bunch of extra stuff as a result. This place isn't such a bad brute force, as increased damage buffs can ease the first part considerably.
10.)
Lastly, I clear Andorhal, rushing to the Potionmaster and picking up the 2 nearby Force Commanders to cleave them all down.
--Afterwards, I go to the gnome, dragging the Force Commander with me. I kill 2 more Commanders on the road to the cannon, but avoid pulling Briggs. (Chromie pulled him during my success.) In hindsight, doing Andorhal before Hyjal might be more efficient, especially given your chances for Sands are roughly the same, with Chromie also giving you one at the end of it. I leave this to preference.
You can clear this WITHOUT the Stratholme key, but you require other things to make up for the time deficit. Stratholme is pitifully slow, even rushing to complete the quest for the key. You can optimize this and buy all of the items in advance as you pass each shop, and I highly recommend memorizing which ones you enter just in case.
To have a real shot, you'll need at least the Stratholme key by itself, and a healthy amount of bonus time. If you manage to get 2 chronoportal items and at least 1 Bronze Drake (as I did my first time), you should have no trouble clearing this in time without any later stage talents. With 1 Drake and just the Andorhal item, I failed by about 1-2 minutes, but I also had bad RNG on Stolen Time and buffs. You want to rack up as much bonus time as possible. About 3 minutes is all you'll need in most circumstances, but maybe more if you've got a solid run without the Stratholme key. The Andorhal item automatically allows Chromie to fly away; the Hyjal item immediately summons the last boss; the Stratholme key lets you skip TO the last boss (I randomly encountered a TON of nerubians on my way to the boss on my failed run); I never obtained the Well of Eternity item, so I don't know how it functions.
Someone mentioned that some older expansion items work. As far as I've seen, only WoD items work. Everything older will not scale up. Most items likely won't help you, though, as they tend not to reach the full 5200+ base stats on trinkets in particular. Give these a go and see if something like the Blademaster trinket would help. I tried to get the triple-secondary necklace from Kazzak because it also has main stat, but it didn't drop or bonus roll. :(
Finally, I'm extremely well itemized coming out of Nighthold. I used the legendary cloak and bracers, 4-piece T19, Convergence of Fates, and
a haste stat stick
. I didn't find Draught of Souls particularly strong or necessary here, as there's a lot of trash you can smash to pieces without relying on a long cooldown like DoS. Not even the bosses survived long enough for it to matter.

PSA: Chromie bugs! Well of Eternity/Stratholme
I'm just coming out from an almost perfect run completely ruined from Chromie, 250 extra seconds, 3/4
迷时纪念品箱子
and few damage reduction stacks.
Since it is the second time happening it is worth noting it.
My run order is usually Shrines => Hyjal => Well of eternity => Stratholme => Andorhal, with the 3 acquired boxes I managed to get Hyjal, Well and Stratholme items, my usual approach on Well of Eternity is to rush the portal before Chromie starts salving herself so I can save some seconds out of it. Except for the fact that this (or even porting in Stratholme after it) supposedly bugs Chromie.
While she's in the bugged state doesn't do absolutely anything nor she doesn't aggro any mobs around her, although she constantly warps around you from time to time and she is susceptible to aoe damage from enemies, the major drawback is that she stops doing damage, healing you or herself and casting Time Warp. While normally probably wouldn't be too much of a issue, when you're against the seconds this can ruin the speed run considerably. Things are probably even more catastrophic for healers who let Chromie tank/dps.
I'll do further testing and see if it's the Well of Eternity or Stratholme that bugs Chromie and write here my findings.
In conclusion, for the time being leave Well of Eternity => Stratholme as last 2 encounters (you can solo pretty much the bosses easily and skip most of the encounters without Chromie's intervention)
Edit: seems the culprit it is Wall of Eternity, or to put it in a technical way are the scripted events that forces Chromie to stop following you - looks like WoE triggers this way too often.
Give a couple of seconds more to Chromie in order to finish her scripted events (assisting herself or running in a specific place) instead of mounting up and running away

One thing you forgot to mention in the

has a chance to give some

(from what i saw it was about 10) I know it is in the rewards section but the sands of time section should have some info on that too no? great guide though

Also it should be known that you need time to actually get back to the temple before time runs out, I finished but was not able to get through the portal in time for it to finish, and for me to lose.

Cleared last night 8/8.
Things to know: This is a RNG fiesta. If you don't get a shrine clear and at least 2 portal clears, just reset, like it says in the guide.
Next thing, and this wasn't mentioned in the guide. There is a combat glitch that will bug Chromie effectively ending the run. Example: one of the strategies for Well of Eternity is to pull all adds to the boss, kill the boss, then quickly leave through the portal. Every time I did this Chromie glitched out and was still technically in combat, but wasn't. This means if you saved Stratholme for last, she will not open the bookcase, ending the entire run. My brother had the same thing happen to him except inside of stratholme. It's something with her being force teleported near you while under attack by a lot of enemies, it's just not advisable. My advice is to clear stratholme before Well and save Well for last if you want to do the pull to boss strategy.
Another thing. The enemies hit HARD. I can't imagine a brand new 110 being able to fight certain magnataurs without being oneshotted. I'm a ret paladin and have like 4.2 mil (i think?) and was dropped to 40 percent on the first hit. Now keep in mind he only does that move about once, maybe twice if you take a while, but it's still alot. Gear up a little bit before attempting.
Rewards. The rewards are simply not worth it if you are considering skipping this. The gear looks like butt. There are pets and stuff i think but that's only good if you're interested in them.
Overall, probably wouldn't recommend unless you want a challenge and to deal with the rng train full of loaded dice.

As far as I can tell there is absolutely no reason to do this scenario as fast as possible...
This means that you can just take your time and research each tier before going trying to complete it...

Finished as Arms Warrior (horde) today.
3 talents (think 5% extra damage really helped at the end)
2
迷时纪念品箱子
(Hyjal + Stratholme)
1 Bronze drake (Ruby clear)
4 extra mins
Mixed random dmg/speed buffs as less priority
I revised what was written in the guide, think I found a quite quick route for me.
The run itself was done as it follows:
Spam Heroic Leap as screen loads, and try to end up in between the 4 npcs - Chromie will stop the time (or will not depending if you escape it*)
Start scenario, mount up and get quest
Fly down the Temple on East side (right side, facing the portals/npcs)
1st Magnataur spawns there
Rush to Ruby, kill ruby magnataur
Check 1st chest under claw if not go for the lich
If there wasnt any chest under the claw then check east wall after after the dragon backspine bones
Rush to Obsidian, kill magnataur on the way
Kill Obsidian boss, mount up and rush inside cavern, try to keep as high as possible so you'll get some extra distance keeping the falling inertia. Some high ping/lag might be beneficial here to have a late dismount
Go on the small slope facing the lava lake, from here you can see if the 3 chests are there
Chromie will be stuck at the entrance dealing with the mob, she'll be fine
If 3 chest are up, spam whirlwinds and taunt Chromies' mob try to bring everything with you and pop the Battle Cry+Avatar+Warbreaker+Bladestorm macro
If not whirlwind everything around you and charge Chromies' mob, in average they drop 2/3 Sands
Go out, fly up, fall to death, respawn at Temple
Mount up, rush to Blue shrine. Check for chest on SE side (it is guarded from 2 wraiths)
Beat boss, fly to Green shrine
Kill the magnataur of green shrine (it will be on your way)
Land near Claw, Chromie will start to summon the mob check for chest in water, if not go to the one on the west wall (they're both unguarded)
Kill boss, fly up, fall to death respawn at Temple turn in quest.
For the portals I just followed the normal order.
Andorhal
.
Go out mount up and fly north, kill first 2 captains, mount up, kill the north boss for first item (there's another captain).
Fly south, kill the 3 captains there and the boss for the second item, avoid extra Elites.
Mount up again go towards the cannon, a captain might have respawned again so kill him for the 7th explosive device (otherwise look for the one which patrols)
Hyjal
, I had the item.
Killed boss as usual.
Mounted up checked for chest near portal (it is guarded but you can fly behind the mobs and steal it from them without getting aggro)
Stratholme
, I had the key.
Rushed to gate, kill the nerubians on the way get the chest and kill mob
Wall of Eternity.
Mount up and rush on East side of map (left side as you port inside). Chances are that Chromie bugs (if so it might avoid her pulling demons randomly, but be prepared to have no time warp and no heals).
Run following the wall, I actually missed an Heroic Leap over the hill here, so I had to pull the first 2 infernals. CDs + BS to dispose of them quickly then run all the way to the portal. (Had to kill 4/5 extra demons).
On the other side of the portal, mounted up and rushed all the way to the boss. Killed him with CDs (it goes down before the mobs will reach you). Heroic Leap upstairs towards the portal, port out, return to present, feel satisfied.
* Heroic Leap at the start of the instance seems to bug Chromies' spell sometimes. If you manage to do it then you can move freely on the Temple, however time starts when you leave the Temple. In the case it happens you can save few seconds mounting up and moving next to the NPCs. Quest however will be available only after you start the scenario

I'd have to disagree with this strategy. Stratholme and Well of Eternity definitely take the longest. When I get to the portals, I do Andorhal first. There are 5 or 6 mobs that all drop multiple Sands of Time, plus the one (or two) you get from the Chromie turn in. If you don't want to waste time, do this one first. Here's my strategy.
(If Obsidian or Ruby is the quest, I reset)
1. Kill Magnataur by Emerald Shrine
2. Kill Satyr
3. Kill Void Lord
4. Kill Magnataur by Azure Shrine
5. Kill Magnataur at the base of the temple.
6. Turn in quest at the top of the temple.
8. Go to Andorhal. Kill all of the * mobs, and their nearby force commanders.
9. Destroy cannon. (I just dps down what's left after the explosives) Turn in quest with Chromie and return to Wyrmrest.
10. At this point, if you don't have two boxes, reset. If you have two, don't open them, and go to Hyjal, finish, then open them. If you have three, open them all, and it should be cake from here. Also you should've had at least two bronze drakes by now, but you can keep pushing for them cause they're less rare than the boxes and you'll probably get them.

I'm not sure if this was a bug or not, but during 2 separate runs I received the option of getting
迷时纪念品箱子
and did NOT select it or the other choice. I didn't choose anything, so that I could force a Stratholme or Andorhal skip; when I finished Hyjal and/or Well and clicked on my

, there was no longer the option for
迷时纪念品箱子

Just completed 8/8 with 2-3mins left on the extra time as a resto druid, without a strathholme skip or any bronze drakes. (had chromie spec'd into
tank
).
Its do-able for healers.
Good luck for anyone looking to finish it.
Edit: for the Strathholme, grab the quest from the tavern, then while collecting the ones for the quest, make sure to grab the other items from the other stores along the way, (
make sure to get two of the jerky
) to save alot of time (might be a no brainer for some people, but i thought its worth the mention)

All Dragonshrines in Dragonblight will always have only one up each run, plus at least another one per Portal.
I don't understand this. I have all four Portals open, and just did a run through the Dragonshrines looking for the Time Chests. I only found one in each Dragonshrine. Previous runs through, I found 3 in the Obsidian each time. What am I missing on this?

Something important that I haven't seen others mention: once you clear 8/8,
WAIT
before you leave for the quest completion to actually trigger. It takes a few seconds, and if you exit the scenario before it does, you're screwed.

Fantastic guide; thank you.
Is anybody aware of any secrets or strange things hidden off the beaten path? For example, via the Andorhal portal, heading up to Hearthglen and exploring...? I know Blizzard likes to often hide stuff in strange, far off places; however, I'd assume that any hidden goodies would have already been datamined or discovered on the PTR. Thoughts?

The Well of Eternity guide in this is a bit stupid to say the least. It starts out "So try to avoid pulling the demonic mobs on the way and take note of the Keen Felstalker which randomly spawn. When you zone into the instance, turn left and stay close to the invisible wall." Doesn't say which way to go and makes it sound like you can avoid pulling a *!@#load of mobs (which you can't because there is nothing between you and the portal but a *!@#load of mobs).
You want to stay on the hill side and go south and try and miss as many mobs as you can (you can go up on the hill a bit in parts to help). The portal will sometimes say you are in combat when you aren't (you can mount), you just have to wait that out. As far as I can tell the Keen Felstalkers constantly spawn and they go right towards you (maybe there's someway to stop them?) so you need to activate the portal between Keen Felstalker spawns.
Several of those mobs between you and that first portal have slowing debuffs. If you try and run through you won't get very far.
After that the author says "Stay mounted up after you take the portal, until you reach the final boss Grolethax. Kill this boss, as well as everything else, to drop combat." Which again is pretty stupid advice as there are about 8 or so pats that you'll have right on your tail as you try and kill the boss.
The only times I died doing this was following the stupid advice here.

The guides here are fantastic information, make sure you pay attention to the location of chests, magnataur and choose wisely with the timeline options. I was clicking away so fast I chose extra time instead of a
迷时纪念品箱子
, so be careful when clicking!
Bottom line, this is totally RNG. I completed this after several attempts as a disc priest and with only 2 Chromie talents. If you haven't gathered at least 2x
迷时纪念品箱子
by the time you have completed the 4 dragonshrines, or at least 5minutes worth of extra time, it is better to just restart the scenario until you are lucky enough to get more time-saving options.
Good luck!

Right, so I have been farming this scenario for a bit now with the 100% increase drop on
时间之沙
and here are the assumptions and results I have come up with.
As far as the buffs go, There are caps on every buff so far apart from the damage and healing one:
青铜之牙
(Damage and Healing increased by 10%) per stack so far has no cap - me currently being at 56 stacks and it is still going.
青铜之翼
(Run speed increased by 10%) per stack has a cap of 10 stacks.
青铜之皮
(Damage taken decreased by 10%) per stack has a cap of 9 stacks.
窃取时间
(Scenario duration increased by 10 sec) per stack has a cap of 100 stacks.
Next are overall benefits from the scenario:
The chests that are located on multiple locations on each map respawn, but I am not sure of the exact respawn time. By the time I visit each map except the Well of Eternity one, they have already started respawning so I just keep on flying around collecting them.
Farming Possibilities:
时空扭曲徽章
- it can be obtained through
时间之沙
. Every time it is one of the 2 choices when sands are used it will give you 10 badges.
迷时钱包
- Contains anything from 30 to 60 gold and a chance for 2 companions:
永生的青铜幼龙
and
青铜始祖龙宝宝
.
There are no time limitations as long as you clear all 8 maps within 15 minutes which should not be too hard with the drop rate increase on
时间之沙
.
I think it's a decent way of farming
时空扭曲徽章
which rivals the timewalking way of farming as long as you do it at a decent speed. It is also a way of getting passive gold along with the badges and possibility of AH selling the companions.
Have fun farming!

EDIT 9.0.1:
Tested it in the Shadowlands pre patch. The squish has luckily not affected this; at 50 (gear shouldn't matter) you one or two-shot nearly everything. The Void Gargatuan's shadow zone's a negative one shot though, so beware.
Farming Deaths of Chromie
I see that one comment is already up for some ideas of
farming
the scenario after you've completed the quest and the reputation. I would like to give my own thought on that giving optimal ideas for:
Basic pointers
Chromie talents
时间之沙
choices
An efficient Reset and Farm Loop.
One point I was not aware of is that the chests respawn, credits where due to runercho. This is essential for a Farm Loop.
Basic pointers
Never ever pass up on
时空扭曲徽章
and
迷时钱包
from
时间之沙
, that's what you're here for. I explain it more indepth below.
Definitely do not attempt this before researching Chromie's tier 5:
幸运
. This is the bread and butter of farming the scenario, so wait for it, then come back.
It is definitely more efficient to farm this with all talents researched regardless, as this makes the initial clearing a lot faster.
If you do a Reset Loop, succeeding the scenario doesn't matter. If you go for a Farm Loop you want to finish it, but just wait for the Keepsakes to finish all Portals except for Hyjal.
Chromie's talents
加速
: definitely more useful for farming.
迅捷恢复
: post-110 the other one is simply worse as Chromie can't match your damage.
龙之决心
洞察
: Drakes are ignored so this is obvious.
幸运
无限速率
: some Keepsakes are useful, but none are required.
巨龙冲撞
时间之沙
choices
Left
if
时空扭曲徽章
,
迷时钱包
or
迷时纪念品箱子
: the currencies are the reason to farm this, and the Keepsakes still speed thing up tremendously.
Right
if
窃取时间
(100 max),
青铜之翼
(10 max),
青铜之牙
(100 max),
青铜之皮
(9 max). They are useful, not crucial.
Left
always if you
max out
all buffs as there's nothing to gain from the right, regardless of
青铜之赐
(100 max) and
克罗米
reputation being pointless.
Ignore
青铜幼龙
completely
, it hurts farming for Sands itself.
The latter is only really possible during a Farm Loop. One hint for using
时间之沙
during a Farm Loop: bind it with a macro for easy use. You should be having max stacks on
青铜之翼
and
青铜之皮
fairly soon. After that check if the right side is
青铜之牙
. If it's not, just choose left. If it is, check quickly if the left is
时空扭曲徽章
or
迷时钱包
, if so use that, otherwise
青铜之牙
. If you stay in so long that you max out
青铜之牙
, just use the left by default.
The Loops of Chromie (and you)
This loop should be a template of the run through the scenario when you farm. This includes having the Wyrmrest portals, and I can advice you to wait with farming until you have the last talent too. The scenario doesn't run away. The first list is the template on how to clear the scenario as fast as possible, and serves as the Reset Loop and to set up the Farm Loop. The second is the Farm Loop: the latter is possible as Time Chests and Andorhal elites respawn, allowing you to make an efficient loop continuously.
Reset Loop: clear the Shrines, the Magnataurs, Andorhal elites, Hyjal with or without Keepsake, and any Keepsakes you have, then reset.
Farm Loop: do the Reset Loop and clear the scenario. Then continue hopping the Shrines, Andorhal and Hyjal.
Both loops have pros: the Reset Loop is efficient and gives quite a lot of Sands through the quests (Wyrmrest and Andorhal). However, because you keep resetting you reset the buffs making the run as hard as you first started it. The Farm Loop allows relatively easy farming of Sands and due to the stacking buffs you end up being an near invulnerable powerhouse that breezes through the Andorhal elites like they're not there. It is somewhat boring however and is theoretically not as efficient.
Reset Loop
In 8.1.5 and beyond I recommend only doing a Reset Loop, at all times. It simply yields more Sands faster as buffs are negligible.
Obtain the Shrine kill quest.
Teleport to the Obsidian Dragonshrine. Fly out and kill
冰拳
. Go back in and kill

Turn in the Shrine quest and use all unused
时间之沙
.
Any Keepsakes you have, use them first.
Ignore Well of Eternity (
泰兰德的月亮石
)
. The flight is not efficient.
Stratholme (
斯坦索姆大门钥匙
): go through the Market Gate, if the Time Chest is on the Market Row get it. Kill
妮萨阿兹雷
, save Chromie and leave.
Mount Hyjal (
硫磺道标
): use the Brimstone. Kill the
火焰巨兽
, get the Time Chest and leave.
Andorhal (
塞纳里奥议会文件
): turn in the documents, go around the corner and accept and complete the quest from Chromie.
Once you're done or lack Keepsakes, do the steps below. If you lack Keepsakes and get them doing the steps below, do the Keepsakes first.
Go to Andorhal. Collect the Time Chest on your faction's side. Collect the Time Chest at the opposing faction's side.
Kill
布里格斯
,
格里高利修士
and
魔导师阿兰娜
as Horde, or
格罗索格
,
塔乐莎·韧皮
and
妖术师贾昆达
as Alliance. Leave.
Reset.
Farm Loop
The Farm Loop considers that you have stopped all eight attacks and have unlimited time.
Teleport to Obsidium Dragonshrine and get the Time Chests. Teleport back.
Teleport to Ruby Dragonshrine and get the Time Chest. Teleport back.
Teleport to Azure Dragonshrine and get the Time Chest. Teleport back.
Teleport to Emerald Dragonshrine and get the Time Chest. Teleport back.

as Horde, or
格罗索格
,
塔乐莎·韧皮
and
妖术师贾昆达
as Alliance. Leave.
Go to Hyjal. Get the Time Chest. Leave.
Repeat.
CHANGELOG

20171006: took LSavage note for granted and removed the parts mentioning availability of Timewarped Badges.

I'm struggling with the Mount Hyjal scenario, I'm doing it as a healer and have chosen Chromie to be a tank, which is working out just fine all except the waves where she just casts the stun and doesn't help kill the mobs until they're all broken from the stun :(

Is there any point in finishing the scenario under a hard 15 minutes? (As in, using no borrowed time, just the regular 15)
I notice there's a bonus objective to finish under 15 minutes, and that bonus objective fails at the point you reach borrowed time. The scenario keeps going, but the objective doesn't.
Is there any actual bonus to finishing the bonus objective? I've beaten all 8, but I used borrowed time. Just want to know if I have more to achieve, or if I'm done, lol.

Time Chests (and most mobs) respawn after 5 minutes. One might want to swing by Dragonshrine with chests after clearing time portal hoping for
迷时纪念品箱子
(especially if all you have left is Stratholme and there are less than 5 minutes left).
Exceptions:
- Dragonshrine bosses do not respawn
- Obsidian Dragonshrine mobs do not respawn
- Emerald and Blue Dragonshrine trash respawns constantly on it's own
- Ruby Dragonshrine minibosses do not respawn. Trash around them takes usual 5 minutes
- Magnataurs do not respawn
- Andorhal elites (ones marked by star) take slightly longer to respawn than everything else
- Obsidian Dragonshrine triple chests respawn independently of each other, and one or two might take longer time to respawn
- Elites at end of Hyjal and Stratholme do respawn

Soooo... when you actually finish the scenario, what happens then? We never find out who is actually behind this plot to kill Chromie, we just kill the minions. Is there a second part on the way? If there isn't anything else planned, what was the point of doing this? I figured it would have been one of the time drakes from past time traveling endeavors, they're always trying to muck up the past for a better future.

For those that run this scenario as healer - how do you do the Mount Hyjal fight? She freezes the mobs and won't start attacking them until you aggro, which could get you killed if you're particularly squishy (especially with the bird wave). Is there no way to have her not freeze the mobs and just attack them, and get aggro off you?

Thought i would put this up once you unlock Chromie's ability "Fortuitous" it possible to earn some serious gold doing this Scenario and here's how
open sands of time as you get them prioritize in this order keepsakes, damage buff,+30 seconds, dmg reduction,speed,+20 seconds ,purse ,+10 seconds (never take bronze dragon ! ) if you get that choice take whatever else is paired with it
at the start grab the quest and go strait down and kill the 1st magnataur you come across ,then after you kill him move upwards towards ruby and kill the 2nd magnataur patrolling there, after its dead continue up towards obsidian and kill the 3rd mag patting between the trees there ,then kill the boss in obsidian , after hes dead enter the cave and check if the 3 time chests have spawned (they don't always so if not leave the instance and start over) if they have spawned collect them ,
By now if rng has been on your side you should have collected over 30 sands of time (yes 30)
From there move back to ruby and grab the chest there (will be at one of the two spawn point) and then kill the boss, after hes dead head over towards Azure Dragon shire and kill the 4th Magnatuar ,grab the chest (if you lucky it is on the platform ) if not kill the 2 wraiths guarding it on the floor, then kill the boss , fly towards emerald and kill the 5th and final MAG then fly into emerald and kill the boss (i recommend killing the plants and birds around him b4 letting Chromie get close enough to pull him) after hes dead grab the chest from its one of two spawns fly back and hand in your quest
so if RNG has been kind you should have at least 1 keepsake box (possibly 2,3,4) a ton of borrowed time(i had an extra 11mins at this point) dmg buffed to over 4
where ever you have keepsakes for go next (
don't
go anywhere you
don't
have a keepsake for ,unless you absolutely have to)
CHRONOPORTALS
STRAT
the chest spawns right after you get through the 2nd gate (and its guarded by 2 spiders) if its not there don't worry about going to find it just kill the giant bug and move on
HYJAL
the chest has 3 spawns points 3 dog behind where Chromie is laying,in the top left corner guarded by 2 dogs and up to 4 evolved fire elementals or in the far right corner of the are (you can run to it without aggroing anything
kill the boss then leave
Well Of Eternity
use the keepsake and kill the boss (dont worry about the chest here)
if at this point RNG has not been kind the chest can spawn on the edge of the well as your skipping by as many mobs as possible to get to the port to take you up to the throne room
Andorhal
hand in the keepsake and rush to Chromie to pick up the quest
fly behind the town hall to the alliance area the chest spawns in or around one of the houses (will show on your mini map which one)
then fly over to the horde area and start killing the mini bosses 1 by 1 and the horse riders (they all drop Sands)
NOW HERES where the gold comes in and your priority changes to +30 seconds ,wallet ,+20 seconds,+10 seconds ,DMG buff , whatever u want after that
(right now your wondering what use is that the instance is complete i have over 15 mins left with nothing to do .RIGHT ?
WRONG
all those fixed chests you looted earlier have re-spawned so leave Andorhal and fly back up to Obisidian and loot the 3 chests again then back to ruby, azure, emerald, andorhal(dont bother with the others) rince and repeat till your time runs out
after i finished my last run i had collected 90 wallets and from those i got between 35-60g and 3 of each pet (selling on my realm for 200-400g)
hope this help
happy hunting

I did it this way -
first, I completed a dragonshrine that had a quest for (in my case, the Obsidian one), flew up, killed myself, spawned back at the Temple
then I went for Battle of Andorhal. Killed two named mini-bosses and a few commanders for the items. But I ogt only 5 of the 7 items required - I figured I could just dps the remaining HP of the cannon down instead of fighting the commanders. From sands of time I received, I got bronze drakes, of course to clear 2 more dragonshrines.
Then I went for Hyjal, got another bronze drake and a time-lost keepsake box to skip Well of Eternity, the worst portal in my opinion. Hyjal is fairly easy and fast so I completed it normally too. Then I killed the final boss of Well of Eternity and got another time-lost keepsake with an item for Stratholme.
Good thing I chose some stolen time. In Stratholme, after killing the final boss I was confused since nothing was happening. I forgot I had to un-wrap Chromie... Luckily, I did it before the time run out!
I didn't really try too hard to complete it during that run. I was mostly trying to get rep and maybe pets but I was just lucky with drops.
PS: I didn't kill any magnataurs or open any time chests. The tier talent that increases Sands of Time drops was enough for me.

Ok what I want to know is how the hell you beat the guy at the Azure dragonshrine. You have little move to move when he casts that silence thing that eats away at your hp. If you fall off it you can't mount since you're still in battle. It's like Blizz decided"Let's make the player have very little room to work with while this boss casts a barrier that is a dome". I've made numerous attempts at it and none of my long range attacks on my Ret Pally reach if I fall off the platform. If others completed it then props but so far no success on my end.

With the talent that increases the chance to get sands of time by 100%, it also doubles what you get from the quests (ie, the dragonshrine quest gives 6 instead of 3). This way, you can feel a little better about RNG and have a few extra chances to get the boxes.

To those who may be stressing over this or getting frustrated like I used to-- it becomes MUCH easier after you had gained all of Chromie's researchable talents-- to the point where you're hardly doing anything at all to complete the whole thing.
If you're feeling stressed, I'd recommend first spending all your time upping your rep with her, until you have reached the maximum rep level and have researched all her talents-- and during those early runs, complete the four dragonshrines (it doesn't need to be all in one go); after you've completed them, in the future you'll get the option to skip to the last boss in each one instead of doing the whole thing. Even better, by the time you had researched all of her talents, you'd likely just get bronze dragons to clear all the shrines for you instead of having to do them yourself.
After you had completed the shrines for the first time, gateways will open to each of the past instances (Well of Eternity, Hyjal, Stratholme, Andorhal); during your early runs it's nice to go to those instances just to get an idea of the layout and where the final bosses are.
Notes for each instance about stuff that might be confusing/unclear/frustrating (under the spoiler tag):
1. In the
Hyjal
one, what you have to do is stay near that instance's Chromie, and defeat waves that show up to attack her.
The keepsake will spawn the final boss instead of you having to fight waves first.
2. In the
Andorhal
one, you need to kill various NPCs indicated on your map in order to gain items that make it possible to attack the cannon. Don't worry, as in the run you'll do after having all of Chromie's talents, you'll likely have the keepsakes for all the instances including this one, and you won't have to bother with this time-consuming procedure.
Instead, with the keepsake you'll just need to approach the tauren wandering the house where you originally spawn at, and click her in order to turn in the documents (the keepsake item).
3. In the
Stratholme
one, you need to do some quests that eventually get you the key to the town hall-- and then you'll follow the path through the town hall that you follow when doing the Culling of Stratholme instance. Ultimately you will have to fight a boss at the same place where the final boss is at the Culling of Stratholme.
After killing that boss, after a few seconds a cocoon will spawn inside which that time's Chromie is trapped, and you will need to click the coccoon to free her; then you'll be able to click a portal to get back to Wyrmrest.
With the keepsake, you'll only need to head to the gate that will let you access the final boss area (this is the same gate which, at the vanilla Stratholme instance, leads to an area where you get attacked by loads of rats)-- so when you have the keepsake you won't need to do the time-consuming quests.
4. In the
Well of Eternity
instance, you sort of go backward from the path which you take during the "End Time" cata-level Well of Eternity instance; after going through the initial grassy area near the Well, you will get to a portal which will teleport you to the balcony at Azshara's palace. To give you an idea, this portal is located near the place where, in the "End Time" version of this instance, you initially spawn/begin the portion where you will fight the final boss (the pit lord). It's near a little house.
After using the portal and getting to the balcony, go from the ramp to the gardens, where you'll fight the demon boss; from there, proceed to the area where you would normally start the "End Time" version of this instance, and then that time's Chromie will be there as well as a portal that you can click. As a matter of fact, you don't even need to wait for that Chromie to spawn-- just click the portal as soon as you see it and you'll get credit.
The keepsake will take you directly to the last boss instead of having to fight your way there.
Things to know: each of the shrines and instances contain time chests with extra sands of time; the guide at the top of this page shows where the time chests are. There are also Magnataurs that walk around in locations indicated in this guide, and they also drop extra sands of time. If you
spec to get an increased number of sands of time +an increased chance of Keepsake Boxes + an increased chance of bronze drakes
, then by the time you had specd
all
of Chromie's talents you won't have to do very much to finish the whole thing.
By the way, in case this wasn't clear:you don't get to keep items from one run to the next (keepsakes, the extra time and so on);you do get to keep the rep you had gained and the pets you might get through Time-Lost Wallets, as well as any Timewarped Badges).
My routine was
(after gaining the highest rep level and researching
all
the talents): at the start of the scenario, accept the quest from whichever dragon gives it to you (Kalec, Itharius, etc), unless it's at the obsidian shrine-- in which case,
as much as I love Wrathion,
restart the scenario as it's too far off. Then go down and kill the Magnataurs outside the Emerald and Blue shrines (for extra sands of time); also drop down to the blue shrine (as it's close by) and grab an extra sands of time box (located in places indicated in this guide). Open all the sands of time, always prioritizing keepsake boxes > bronze drakes > extra time > anything else > rep (as by now I was maxed on rep).If by then the shrine in my quest was completed by a bronze drake, skip it or go there just to grab the extra time chests, and if it's close, kill the magnataur by the ruby shrine for more sands of time (don't bother with the obsidian shrine as it's far off).If a bronze drake hadn't cleared the shrine in the quest for me, do the shrine myself.
Then go back to Wyrmrest Temple to turn the quest in for more sands; by then, you should have nearly all the keepsakes, and if you don't, you still have a good chance of getting them while doing the other instances. Go and do the instances for which you have keepsakes, and at that point grab more time chests inside the instances (it's easy in Hyjal as it's a tiny zone); if you had researched all of your talents, then you are likely to just get all your keepsakes from sands of time and not have to bother with the actual instances other than killing the last boss. You may well have up to five or six minutes of 'stolen time' by then as well so you should be good.
Note: at the very end, you're prompted to 'return to present day Wyrmrest,' which may be a tiny bit confusing, as when you port back to Wyrmrest you're not prompted to do anything, but your timer is still running. You need to head to the portal at the north end of the platform (which is where you started out when Chromie first froze time), and click on that portal-- then it'll take you to 'present day Wyrmrest' (out of the scenario) where you'll be able to turn the quest in.
Note: I did this as healer with Chromie as tank, and didn't even need to do much dps or much healing by the point where I had all of her talents researched.
Last note: I could be wrong, but if I recall Chromie's first appearance in WoW (classic) was in Andorhal (with quests which have since been removed);
here's
a very old, terrible-quality screenshot from TBC when her quests at Andorhal were still in the game.

This is still pretty stupid trying to complete as a tank. Where is the option for Chromie to dps and how the heck is she pulling agro off me as a blood dk? Really? And why can't she heal herself? In CoT it's pretty dumb for her to take so much damage from the final boss that she dies before I can kill the bug. Is that really intended to work that way, because if so that is just effing dumb dumb dumb. Did Blizzard even try this scenario in all classes and specs because I have tried this in Blood and Frost and I CANNOT kill the bug before it kills Chromie from aoe damage or something.

In the PTR, Chromie apparently had a small conversation after completing the final quest. It was removed on release. I think it sheds some light on what's to come!
Chromie says: Everything seems... back to normal. The Timelines are clearer. I don't see myself dying anymore.
Chromie says: That's good!
Chromie says: There ARE a few things still bothering me, though...
Chromie says: A whole lot of people seemed very intent on killing me. Demons, elements, undead, void lords... even the Horde and the Alliance!
Chromie says: Why's everybody so mad at me? I think we should probably figure that out, eventually.
Chromie says: But that's a problem for the future us! Well, future you and past me. Aw, don't worry about it. Time is complicated.
Chromie says: See you next time, <name>!

So that whole speedrun is basically "I got lucky drawing a buch of stuff out of looted boxes that allowed me to skip everything". That seems, pointless. Grind to the point where you acutally get the bonuses you need to complete the scenario (I highly doubt that anyone can finish it on first try), strech them out with artificial research time and then hope for some luck on your drops.
Is it just me or is the content Blizzard released after the launch underwhelming to say the least?
btw I can't wait für Blizzard to sell the Timelost boxes on the store for 99cent each. NOT.

first off, if you're a casual gamer, you won't get this completed. Give up now regardless of what you hear above, it just isn't going to happen. If you're a heal spec player, also, give it up it isn't going to happen. none of the guides can overcome the ridiculously high amount of damage you'll take and how little you'll actually be able to heal Chromie. save your quest space and drop this one right away. I'll save you the months of trying now.
You're welcome.

To the poster before me, You are mistaken about the pets, I have about 6 of each on the AH now. They are BOP until you learn them, but then you can cage and sell them. Also this week and any Timewalking event week is very lucrative for as the droprate is vastly improved over normal. I just got over 700 in the last hour along with 4
永生的青铜幼龙
and 2
青铜始祖龙宝宝
and about 2200 gold. Hurry up and farm those badges now before they get around to nerfing this into the ground.
My strategy is to first clear the obsidian shire and make sure the three chests are there inside the cave and if they are not I simply use the few sands of time I have and then leave the instance and redo it until they are all there. Once I do see them (which is about 50% of the time I would say), I clear all the shires and get all the chests (making sure to also kill the magnataurs for each one along the way), and then I go to Andoval for the chests and the rares. By then the3 first chests have started to respawn so I make a loop back to them and finally get around to opening up all of the sands before I reset and do it again. There are many ways to farm The badges in this scenario, that is just the way I have found to be the most efficient for me.

One thing I just realized is that to Chromie, the magnataurs count as 'treasures', so that's why she'll say there's one nearby when you approach one. So don't get confused that there's a Time Chest; she's talking about the mob.
Secondly,
whatever Time Chests there are in each scenario you run, they will respawn!
Once you got the quest itself done and are doing repeats, set up Chromie's buffs for speed, offense, and
迷时钱包
.
When you stop all eight attacks on time (I prefer to do the dragonshines myself, as using
青铜幼龙
does not give you
时间之沙
from the bosses, and the dragon will buff you instead) and reach the Final Stage portion,
the timer will freeze
, waiting for you to exit out. Instead, just stay inside and hit all the Time Chests again. I did this only for the wallets, but as you pick the buffs to ignore the extra rep, you will get increasingly more powerful and if you want, use this to wipe out trash for extra

IMPORTANT: In order to COMPLETE the quest, after finishing all 4 portals, you must RETURN to NORMAL TIME, then speak with Chromie to complete the quest. When you click on the portal it will ask if you are sure you want to return to normal time. YES you do. It's the only way to complete the quest.
I wish I knew this sooner - I wasted a lot of attempts letting time run out while I tried to figure out where to turn it in. HTH

As of Battle For Azeroth 8.2, this scenario can still be completed at level 120. I was able to get
克罗米的死党
which grants the "Timelord" title after about 2 hours of farming (and always selecting the rep buffs from
时间之沙
). You do not have to complete the entire Chromie talent tree in order to complete the scenario. The talents I chose were
加速
,
迅捷恢复
, and
时光感召
(which takes 24 hours to research, and by the time it had completed researching, I had already farmed my way to Exalted/Timelord with Chromie, so I switched to
龙之决心
and fortunately once you've completed the research time for one talent within that tier, you can immediately switch back and forth between the two talent choices in the same tier. I was in the process of researching
青铜龙军团的祝福
when I started another attempt at the scenario, intended to simply be a loot run as I was pinning all the locations of the chests when I happened to luckily loot the skips for 2 of the 4 chronoportals and 1 of the dragonshrines and rushed through to complete the scenario about 10 seconds after the 15-minute timer had run out (so I was operating on Stolen Time at that point). Once you have saved Chromie from all 8 threats, the countdown stops and you are able to farm the mobs and chests (which WILL respawn).
My suggestions:
If you just want the Timelord title, choose rep buffs from
时间之沙
(always the left-hand choice) and kill lots of creatures within the scenario. You could easily fly around to the 4 dragonshrines in Dragonblight and farm mobs/chests in 15-minute intervals until you get to exalted/Timelord with Chromie. Once you earn
克罗米的死党
, you've got the title. No need in trying to save Chromie from all 8 threats. At 120, you don't really even have to research any talents unless you just want to speed things up a bit. I hadn't even completed researching the tier-3
时光感召
by the time I got to exalted/Timelord with Chromie.
If you're trying to complete the scenario to save Chromie from all 8 threats and earn the transmog set, then choose the right-hand option on
时间之沙
UNLESS the left-hand option is
迷时纪念品箱子
because this box contains the Chronoportal skips. The right-hand side buffs can stack to 10 which means you could have 100% movement increase/damage and healing increase/damage reduction depending on what choices you can make when using
时间之沙
.
If you're farming for the pets (
永生的青铜幼龙
and
青铜始祖龙宝宝
), then farm the scenario for
时间之沙
and choose the left-hand option
迷时钱包
when available. Otherwise, choose the left-hand rep buffs if you're going for the achievement/title, and choose the right-hand options for buffs/Dragonshrine skips.

For those like me who spent hours running around trying to figure out how to start this, it begins with a quest appropriately called
Chromie

It's now given by
Image of Chromie
, also in the Violet Citadel in Dalaran (Broken Isles) but up the stairs behind Khadgar and to the right. Pick up the quest, take the portal to Stormwind or Orgrimmar, take the Dalaran portal to Northrend and fly to the top of Wyrmrest Temple where Chromie herself is waiting.

Level 120 mage. Pretty easy, some tips I didn't see here
Dragonshires
are easy, use the bronze drakes to complete them but kill the rare patrolling around each for Sands of Time and don't forget to check for treasure boxes. Its worth wasting a run just making a mental note of where each chest is in each shire so you can blitz right through.
Andorhal and Hyjal are the easiest.
For
Andorhal
, all the npcs you need to kill are in the same central area and at least 2 are right by where chests spawn (at least playing as a Horde). Plus you can fly so it's exponentially easier.
For
Hyjal
it's just 5 waves of elementals, as a max level toon it's pretty easy to burst them down.
Stratholme
is annoying but not terrible. Of the 4 portals, this is the one you want the keepsake box to help you with since it saves soooo much running around. The key you get from the Keepsake box unlocks a different gate vs when you run through Stratholme normally. Take the first left at the main fork in the road inside the gates and you'll see the market row gate. Click both gates and follow the path until you see the big bad.
Then do not forget to free Chromie in the webbing
. Once you do that a portal appears and you can take it back.
Well of Eternity
had me real upset with Chromie because it felt like she aggro'd EVERYTHING. I tried to use invisibility but I guess it won't cover her as well. The most important bit is that when you defeat the big bad for Well
DO NOT RUN BACK THE WAY YOU CAME
like an idiot...I am the idiot...learn from my mistakes!
Go up the stairs the demon lord was in front of, look to your left and you should see the proper return portal. This had me confused because Hyjal and Andorhal have you enter and leave from the same portal, but Stratholme and Well do not.
I maxed my tree out with her and chose the talents that dropped more Sands of Time and Keepsake Boxes. I did wait 4 days for everything to finish researching because I did it a few times with just the first talent researched and it was just not good.
Hope you get the items for Strath and Well, and your run will be so smooth!
3 runs got me about 1000g from opening the wallets up, so this could be a way to earn gold if you like high stress situations and games of chance.
ALSO I did not see anyone mention this but when I finished the speedrun and turned the quest in, there was a
Scribbled Ravings
scroll in my inventory that read:
kill the dragon
kill the dragon
kill the
DRAGON
it's not a gnome, it's a DRAGON
not even a good dragon
SLAY THE DRAGON
crossed the timeways one too many times, didn't you? made a few enemies? maybe caused a paradox you couldn't reconcile?
the demons, the elementals, the humans and orcs... they're all on MY SIDE NOT YOURS
NOW YOU'VE GONE AND DONE IT, WHELP
I hope we find out who this was..the tooltip hover says the writing is jagged and frantic, but
familiar

As of 9.2.5 this has become really easy because you essentially one-shot everything. Even bosses should not take longer than 5 seconds.
I did this on my third run while still farming for reputation
- without skipping any shrines via Bronze Drakes
- without skipping any portals via Time-Lost Keepsake Boxes
- without adding any extra time (I was still farming reputation and wasn't expecting to finish the scenario in time)
- without researching more than the first two talents that you get right away
- and without really optimizing my strategy. Simply did the four shrines first and the four portals next. I did however do some small optimizations such as dying after the Obsidian Shrine to get back to Wyrmrest quicker and "pre-buying" the items in Stratholme. I also dps'd the cannon in Andorhal instead of destroying it with explosives because that felt quicker than farming the mobs.
- and I had roughly one minute to spare at the end
Thus, this should be easily achieveable first try if you do some optimization and have some luck with your Sands of Time drops. Good luck! :)

If you came here to do the scenario and farm
时空扭曲徽章
(like I have been doing in Dragonflight), follow this method to get an infinite cycle of chests going.
DO NOT CHOOSE BRONZE DRAGONS.
You want the sands from killing the mini-bosses and you will have plenty of bonus time doing this method.
If you are given any Keepsake boxes, choose them, as they will just make it easier to finish.
1) You will need to be able to clear all 4 dragonshrines and have access to all 4 portals.
2) Start a run and go directly to the Obsidian shrine. Enter and go to the small overlook spot in the entrance. Look across the lava and see if the 3 chests are present. If yes, loot them and clear the shrine before moving on to #3.
If NOT, leave the scenario and restart.
3) Clear the shrines and magnataurs in this order:
Obsidian shrine > Icefist > Dregmar > Ruby shrine > Bonesunder > Bloodfeast > Azure shrine > Iceshatter > Emerald Shrine.
Remember to find and loot the chest at each shrine before moving on.
4) Fly to the top of the temple and enter the Andorhal portal. If you have the papers for the druid, use them and talk to/complete the Chromie quest in the doorway. If you need to kill the turret because you did not have papers, do so. Locate the chest in here and then exit when completed.
5) Enter the Hyjal portal. If you have the beacon, use it and kill the mini-boss, otherwise clear the adds and kill it. Locate the chest before you leave.
6) Enter the Well of Eternity portal. Hug the right hand side (to check for a chest) and head for the portal to the next area. In this area, mount and run past all the adds to the mini-boss (if you did not find a chest in the first section, do not waste time looking for it here, you will find it later). Kill the boss and take the exit portal. (You MAY be stuck in combat after loading into Wyrmrest, but it will clear in bout 20 sec)
7) Enter the Stratholme portal. Hopefully you had a key to skip to the end... otherwise complete the quests as needed to get to the boss. Kill the boss and exit to complete the scenario objectives.
DO NOT LEAVE the scenario to return to the present. At this point, all the timers have stopped and you will no longer be kicked when it runs out.
8) Fly back to the Obsidian shrine, loot the chests and kill all the adds, and then work your way south through the other chests and shrines.
9) Fly back up to Wrymrest and enter each portal, looting the chest.
In Hyjal, clear all the trash. (There is not much and they all have a chance to drop additional sand,)
In Well of Eternity, try to avoid trash in the first section and clear all of it in the second. (The first section trash does drop sands, but they all have stuns and slows.)
In Andorhal, kill the mini-bosses. (Trash doesn't give very many sands, but the mini-bosses do.)
In Stratholme, just loot the chest and leave. (If you had a skip and the chest is locked inside the Town Hall section, just skip this portal.)
10) RINSE AND REPEAT! Everytime you go through all the shrines, the portal chests should be respawned and vice versa.

I just tried this for the first time tonight - and I can't get either of the items to drop for the green or blue dragonshrines at all off the specified NPC's. :(

Ok here's my random thoughts / tips on this after grinding out the rep for the 'Timelord' title today and then deciding to carry on and go for the '8 saves' for the (frankly pretty mediocre!) transmog. I was doing it in 10.1.7 as a 420 geared ret pally. This isn't a guide - plenty of the posts here given good advice on what needs to be done for each shrine / portal. This is just a few things I learned as I went along.
- As others have said, if you just want the title then pick the rep buffs for each sand every time and just rinse and repeat - don't worry about the timers, just keep restarting the instance once you're timed out. You will get max rep in about 2 hours if you can DPS the mobs down quick and are reasonably mobile (and let's face it even after rework ret pallies are not exactly the best in that area).
- If you want the transmog then accept you will need to spend furthersome time on this! First, you will need to complete each shrine at least once and kill the boss. Each boss drops a quest that will open one of the 4 portals. If you've spawned the boss and killed it at least once per shrine, on future attempts you just need to kill the boss.
- Unfortunately with portals it is not the same. You will need to complete each portal in its entirety each and every attempt UNLESS you have been lucky enough to get the 'skip item' for that portal drop for you from a 'sand'. Also, you will need to complete each portal at least once in its entirety to get the chance for the 'skip item' for that portal to drop. So if, for example, you just can't nail the Stratholme portal each time you try it and you're praying for the Stratholme skip item to drop on your next attempt so you don't have to do it - it won't! You will need to have completed it at least once for the skip item for that portal to have a chance to drop on later attempts.
- Don't rush the portals when you know you are still learning. Take your time so you can learn the instance and what you need to do and in what order. Once you are confident, you can start stitching everything together for the speed run.
- When doing the shrines, it's worth getting killing the magnotaurs near each shrine as they drop at least 1 and sometime 2 sands. It's not (in my view) worth hunting for the chests in each shrine and in each portal (there will be 1 for each portal and shrine somewhere each attempt) unless you are confident you have memorised the spawn points and will be quick searching for them. If they are there when you are killing a mini-boss / boss then fine, loot them, otherwise you risk losing time.
- Start with shrines and go South to North - go green, azure, red, obsidian (killing magnotaurs as you go) and then just fly up over the obsidian shrine and fall and die. You will spawn back at the temple and can start the portals. Some shrine bosses are tricky even at this level / ilvl. I'm thinking of you Azure shrine boss. DPS him down v quickly or dodge his void attack else it will one-shot you.
- Not all portals are equal. Quick summary. Hyjal is fairly fast - don't worry too much about that as long as you can round up each of the 4 waves of mobs and kill them quickly to spawn the main boss. Anderhal is fairly fast as well, kill the various mobs to get your required items and then hand in. Quite a lot of the 'Captains' and 'starred' mobs will drop sands as well so this is a good portal. Well of eternity feels bad because you have to start by running through a bunch of mobs that cast unavoidable stuns or heavy slows to get to a mini portal that sends you to the second part. If you are careful you can skip some and go round the edges but you may well end up having to just fight your way through. Once you have got to the portal and ported to the palace it's easier. Just mount up and ride up the path and through the various mobs and keep going right til you reach the end boss. You will aggro everything but they don't have stuns or slows and you should be able to DPS the boss down quick and get out before they all catch up with you. Finally, Strathome is a pain. Just remember that you can buy all the items for the three 'collect' quests on one run through the town. It won't let you buy more of each item than you need but it WILL let you buy items for quests next in the chain. It means you can collect everything in one go and then hand the 4-5 quests in in quick succession. Once you have the key it's not too bad if you have memorised the route you need to go next. Just run from the bar to the town hall, use the key, run through the town hall until Chromie lets you through the secret bookcase upstairs and then go down the alley into the main town. Once there just run right through the mobs as much as you can (I just AOEd as I went to clear them off me a bit) until you reach the boss. Once you have killed him you need to click on the webbed Chromie to free her and that ends the instance and spawns the portal to let you out.
- When picking buffs from the sands when doing the speed run prioritise 1 - time-lost wallet (for the chance at the skip items for the portals); 2 - the bronze drake 'helpers' as they will clear one of the remaining 'saves' for you; and then 3 - the extra time. This can add up. I've now managed to do the '8 saves' quest 3 times and each time only had one or two skip items drop. But I've had up to 5 mins extra time built up which (coupled with getting the process for each portal down right) has meant I've had a couple of minutes spare at the end.
Overall - learn each instance, get your route round the shrines sorted, pick the buffs from the sands that speed completion where you can or otherwise choose extra time and it should be doable with a bit of practice under your belt. I'd say if you don't get at least 1 but preferably 2 'skips' drop for you by the time you have finished the shrines and the first of the portals, it's probably worth leaving the instance group and restarting. And the skips you ideally want are for Strathome / Well of eternity / Andorhal / Hyjal in that order based on my experience of the speed of getting them done.
Good luck!

Can't beat Void Gargantuan as frost mage. As soon as he puts down circle of death sometimes I get one step and die. A few times I'm able to escape but I can't do enough damage to kill him because I have to keep running; then the platform is full of circle of death. I try blast wave but that won't knock him off the platform. I can beat the other 3 bosses without dying but not void. I tried all my spells and died at least 100 times so far. The furthest I got was getting him down to half health then the platform was full and I can't go anywhere. What is the trick to beat him? Also I'm level 60 but when you play the scenario I become level 47 with 7,000 health. HELP
